Keep getting told he's our best kick - but he does these dinky 20m nothing kicks. 8 kicks, 14 handballs tonight. No hurt factor. Harmes - Plodder & unreliable. 16 touches at 62% DE. Plays all over the place - not because he's versatile, it's because he's not good enough in any one position. Brayshaw - No skills. No hurt factor. 2 kicks for 36m gained in 78% game time. [censored] off! Jones - Got to play half forward or not at all. Too exposed on the wing. T. Mcdonald - 2018 an anomaly. No agility. Useless in the air and on the ground. Kids have taken his spot. The above have poor trade value so this is why the next one is going in Oliver - He's tough, means well but has found his ceiling. No hurt factor, can't kick that's why he handballs so much. He use to have great vision and would handball to someone into space or in a better position, but we haven't seen this in a long time. If we want to trade for a needs or position ourselves better in a draft - unfortunately this is the ticket. Jury still out... Weideman - Could be a good player but we'll never know with our current forward structure and the current forward 50 delivery. Unfortunately worth more to us than he is on the open market. May - He is our best one on one defender despite being constantly undersized. Would love to be in a position where he is our rebound man and we can utilize his kicking. On that, it does my head in that for someone who is such a good penetrative kick - that his 1 wood is to kick it to Gawn. Would love for us to set up differently where he can take on the man on the mark at kick ins and kick over the oppositions zone down the middle of the ground. Lever - We thought we were getting a young Jarred Rivers. He second guesses himself a lot and looks unsure. Doesn't take much body & isn't intercept marking as much as he did at Adelaide. Consequently Gawn is being thrown back behind the ball to help out when Gawn would be of more value forward of the ball. Hannan - Good is good. Bad is very bad. 3 kicks isn't good enough It can change quickly - for good and for bad. We have enough good players on our list for this to turn, however if we aren't going to grow a set and make a statement one way or another - we're just going to lose more fans. Personally, I am sick of the person this club makes me and I am very close to cutting ties for good.

I think Clarry and for that matter Viney and anyone else at the stoppage are going to be beneficiaries of Tracs form. Tracs going to be drawing multiple players and Gawn is good enough to put it where ever he wants. They'll all get that extra bit of space or that extra second to make a decision - those rushed disposals and clearances hopefully will be a thing of the past. I reckon Clarry can go to another level again. Would love for him to play a bit more time forward for a bit of extra hurt factor. I reckon he played forward when Jacobs from North was going alright on him(a couple of years ago) and he kicked 2 in a quarter on him. He does have this skill up his sleeve!

Haha yeh I wish I had some inside mail from the club to join in on this 'my mail vs your mail' w*nkfest. I knew I was opening myself up but just an opinion I've had for a little while which I felt like airing. I suppose part of my opinion is formed upon the fact that he's in his 6th year on our list and we've shown a lot of faith on very little exposed form. Dan Menzel had more exposed form and you could see why Geelong (at the time) kept him around. I've acknowledged that his physicality means we're a better side for him in it - but I think he really needs to tidy up his disposal by foot so we can play him in a position that's really going to make us a better side.

Having read this thread and various other threads re VandenBerg over the years I think I have the un-popular opinion of that I don't think he's that good. I understand there needs to be some forgiveness given he's lack of continuity in his football, but he just can't kick. I think he can be the beneficiary of shortened quarters where he can be used as an impact player - but he needs to be more than a bloke that can just tackle. He has no problem finding the ball: vs Geelong – 1 kick, 6 handballs, 3 tackles 62% game time –71% efficiency vs Richmond – 14 touches, 3 tackles, 70% game time –85% efficiency vs Gold Coast – 11 touches, 3 tackles, 47% game time –72% efficiency vs Hawthorn – 13 touches, 4 tackles, 81% game time – 53% disposal efficiency If he polishes up his kicking - especially at goal, he could be a lot more damaging playing that half-forward pushing deeper role. Bizarrely, I can acknowledge that we are a better side with him in - so maybe I'm just Covid rambling

Probably comes down to the form of Hibberd to some degree - even then I'd love to have both of them running around for us in form at the same time
