Post Practice Match Discussion - Melbourne v Collingwood
Wiseblood replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't think so - I see Joel Smith as depth. With Preuss, Weids and TMac down there, you add in Melksham, Spargo, Fritsch, Trac and so forth, there isn't room for him unless there is an injury. Like others, he is terrific depth. -

That's to be expected though - we were missing some key players, so we would have been out of sync a little. Not to mention it still being February. I think the pressure, game plan and giving the players a run is the most important thing. I'll be worried if it continues though... -

This is just an assumption, but I'd wager they may put together a highlights package of the game, such as all the goals, later on in the day. -

Thanks for all the updates to those who were there or who could watch on the live stream. Much appreciated. Good to see a positive outing to warm up for the real stuff and to come away with no injuries or major concerns. -
WE'RE WINNING THE NEXT FIVE FLAGS!!!!!!
-
How has he looked in the second half? Shown some encouraging signs?
-
You are probably right, but both are very handy depth players.
-
I love you both! Cheers!
-
Score update?

He could be a massive weapon on a wing. TMac and Weid would be licking their lips seeing him with the footy 70m out from goal.

WE'RE WINNING THE FLAG!!

I'd rather a bit of quiet than listen to BT go 'Wowee' every 5 seconds!
-
To be fair, for many filth fans they are the only clothes they own.
-
My emotions are ready. If we win then we're a cert for the flag. If we lose then we won't make the eight.

Dees to take on Pies in Scratch Match (22/2/19)
Wiseblood replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm totally ready to get excited over a young kid getting a few touches and writing others off based on a meaningless scratch match. That's what February is for, isn't it? -
I'm in again! Adam / Van Buren Boys

As much as I dislike Hawthorn, it's still horrible seeing this happen to a player. Hawks are going to struggle mightily without him.
-
I saw Trac dressed up as Michael Jackson, complete with white glove. Does this mean his dog has bitten him on the hand again, hence the white glove, to cover it up? Or was he just being a completionist?? Someone help!! I'm worried sick!!

Ah, right. So we've already started the 'blame Pert for absolutely everything' stuff? Dear me. There is a specific membership team in place who would handle all of this. If you want someone to blame, then it's on them, not Pert.

What communication did you want? The email comes from Australia Post, not the club. If Australia Post acknowledge it, but it arrives later than expected, then that's on Australia Post, not the club. They can't control that. As someone else mentioned above, we would be sending out an absolute bucket load of memberships, probably more than they have ever done prior to Xmas. It's only reasonable to expect a few hiccups. Nothing is perfect. On the flip side, I reckon they did a ripper job with the kids packs. Shoelaces, tattoos, mini footy, pillow case... my daughter loved it and she proudly sported her 'Maxy Gawn' and 'Jack Biney' (she is still learning to say 'Viney') tattoos for days.
-
True, but you can't trust Australia Post, at that time of the year, to come through for you. I got my daughters pack last week and she loved it. Didn't matter when it arrived, she just loved getting it in the mail. I'm probably being a little heartless here as I understand some hoping it arrives as an Xmas present would have been let down but if you get a text and Australia Post let you down then it's not on the club. I did get an email from the club today regarding the late arrival, so they were aware.

If you get your card prior to Round 1, why does it matter when you get it? First world problems.

The past aside, I hope he does a good job in the role. I think taking a job outside of the football industry might be the best thing for him.

His athleticism also means that he can be a weapon when the ball hits the deck with his pressure and tackling ability. Goody loves to keep the ball in our half and lock it in for long periods, and J Smith can go a long way to helping us do this.
