I think Magner's issue is that he not good at running forward of the ball to get into attacking positions.
-
The real issue is that during Baileys time, we drafted mainly for Speed, kicking ability etc., and not for competitiveness, strength in the contest, which is what is needed now.

Peter Jackson - On The Couch Monday 29th July, 2013
RedsoxMan replied to Demon3's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thanks for the heads up. Looking forward to the interview. -
My view, is that things will change , led by Peter Jackson. He will ensure, we have some new staff, who are ruthless about winning, and excellant at what they do. However, it will take time, and money. He will see the AFL with a plan, next week, they will hopefully accept it. Then things will start changing. A number of our issues go back a few years , most important, being our list management. This will take time to fix.

I agree, CC is a typical sales / PR type of person, and I feel he is now in an area that suits him.

5 Years Says Neeld - Who is going to cop that?
RedsoxMan replied to Mongrel Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Neeld just lost me!! Peter Jackson last week said the "first priority was to fix the on field first " - ie to give the supporters hope. Clubs not winning survive on hope/getting better. Then Neeld come out and say 3-5 years - It might be true, but now is not the time to say it. Talk about this week, or this year - Anything other than what he said. Not very bright. -
Dawes could be OK, if you have him and Jesse Hogan in the forward line, and Clark rucking instead of always, in the forwrd line. our ruck strength is not good
-
Neil Craig comes acrross very well, but did not answer the direct question , of what went wrong in the 3rd Quarter. Why cannot our team match the intensity of WC ? Is our defense that bad that they cannot spolt opposition forwards marking?
-
No it is not been Televised - Hopefully the club might stream it?

The AFL commission meets Monday, maybe a decision after that?

I think it is at 9.30 am.this Friday -
I always park near the corner of Alexandra Ave & Anderson Street - a short walk to Goschs Park

Neeld was a Mid Field coach of a premiership team, so he would know if Brian Royal was not up to the job. He has already stated that the coaching team is not changing.

The Next Decade; Would you take this if it happened?
RedsoxMan replied to Bobby McKenzie's topic in Melbourne Demons
Maybe you need cards with the Suns, and GWS in them -
Caroline Wilson is spot on "It also hardly requires ''genius'' to sign a footballer on the ridiculous sum that Scully will earn to play football." I would add the MFC tried to sign Scully since the the start of 2010 - We signed 3 first year player then including Trengove. I think he was never part of MFC, who knows, maybe he was already contacted by GWS then, or at least, he was interested in the money he thought he could make with the introduction of the 2 new clubs!!

I think the total 2 hr 3AW show will be available on their website about 10.00am tomorrow, and you can listen then. http://www.3aw.f2.com.au/Podcast/Feeds/01.xml

I think we also should not minimize the influence of Cameron Schwab, who has had the experience selecting coaches, and the Business training to put together a coaching team.
-
Also the new Coach was the Mid Field Coach in the premiership team - He should know if Royal can coach a midfield
-
The name of the report was - Andrews report. We will have to ask about it at the AGM
-
I agree the club just cannot throw away everybody connected with the old coaching group. CC being a very passionate Melbourne person, and should be kept at the club, if he can add value to the Club. We should try and use his talents, in areas that they can be of use.

Gawn is not there - he must be injured?
-
I agree he is not a very good kick, and he only seems to be accurate , when the team is on "roll",and has the momentum. Drops the ball from too high. I know the Club is working on the issue with him.
-
FYI , I was at a talk by Cameron Schwab and the Club still feels that Morton will be an elite player.
-
He will be very good, and now he can play down at Casey, getting a great more game time in the ruck - Learning the game. We do not need 3 ruckmen in the side. I also thought he did very well in the 2nd half of the 2nd quarter last week. Fremantle were getting closer, and Martin was loosing in the ruck. Gawn moved to the ruck, broke even, and we kicked some goals.
