  1. Whichever way we go, I just hope we leave JVR forward for the majority of the night. He's really progressing well as our main target up forward and will take the pressure off Fritta, Melks and Koz to do their thing. With Gawn out, we've got to do more fast transfer of play through the guts. We did it pretty well against WC last week. Langdon and Windsor are in pretty good form to do the hard running for us and I think we need to keep AMW in and on the field for his pace. I feel like we can roll them this week.
  2. I think I had the shisito extract watching the Freo game
  3. Interesting article about a number of stadiums trying to uplift the quality of food served to the masses. Is it a good thing? I reckon the quality of the traditional four n twenty "rat's coffin" has dropped a lot over the years. Let alone the taste of an overpriced plastic cup of foamy mid strength soap. Just curious about people's thoughts and their eating habits, favourite places to eat before a game and routines. I'm sceptical about most things the AFL does and like to support smaller places to eat outside the ground where possible before heading in. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/article/2024/jul/10/australia-stadiums-food-options-afl-nrl
  4. He was tripped by Daniher and stumbled over the line.
  5. Yep, I agree. Good seating. Love the fact once you're in the gates, there's plenty of green space to sit and relax and an oval to kick a footy Last time we went, we sat on the grass and played cards, drank beers and wandered up to our seats about 2 minutes before the game started
  6. Just finished watching the game. Our kids are really giving us so much more run and energy. Caleb Windsor is just as steady as a rock. JVR is just getting better every week. We don't need Hogan, we've got someone who's going to be better. The Kolt is going to be a gem. But also, don't forget Jack Viney. With Clarry finding his feet again and Tracc out, Jack's been doing the usual grunt work without much recognition. He's such a wonderful leader for this club as Rivers pointed out in his post game interview. His pressure and tackling today was just superb. What a crazy season. I'd really written the boys off this year but next week's game is going to be a belter.
  7. The booing is quite incredible by blooooos fans
  8. C'mon blues, lose by a goal
  9. Dangerous tackle pffft
  10. It is always worries me when the 2nds are performing so poorly. Bad signs. How did Brown go today. Is he still having a crack?
  11. That is absolute gold. Can he commentate Collingwood games instead of BT?
  12. Geez those long high bombs into your f50 don't works so well Collingwood do they?
  13. C'mon pies catch up and then lose by a couple of points. Make my night
  14. The umps have got the armchair out for the bummers now
  15. I wonder what would happen if you just stated, you must dispose of it legally. Handball or kick. That's it If it's stripped, free kick If you're tackled and it's held to you, free kick If you've gone to ground, you must knock it clear (still a legal disposal) Jack Viney would probably get 20 kicks a game. No more "look at me trying to punch the ball out" fake rubbish
  16. Me too and apologies for derailing the thread. I'm very happy to see Jake back in action.
  17. If he's sub, should he be one for the whole last 3 minutes of the game? 😁
  18. Amen Titus Like us, umpires are trying to determine the nature of an event that no longer has any connection to reality. It is the AFL’s crowning glory. As usual, a very good read https://titusoreily.com/afl/the-magical-fairyland-of-afl-umpiring?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAaaI33B5hYUmUR_7PUXnGsFqrNPNZnAD3J_TXME-rflpSMQd1OqT6WyHRn4_aem_IKWwmAJMc0wEZvTwjmyUTw
  19. Great comparison @bobo and yep, the corruption is ruining the game. The AFL is a disgrace
  20. Kate Roffey has some media skills and profile and should be out there being more vocal. That's what the powerful clubs do. I like her, I really do. She has a lot of time for the fans and members. It's very strange to see her go to ground like this.
  21. Yep we're better with Petty back and Tmac forward
  22. Sure am. Free tix from a good mate who's a lions member. Would love to hear the Gabba go quiet in the last qtr. Fingers crossed. R U up there too?
  23. Have a weisenstaphner pilsner and a pork knuckle for me. Probably my favourite beer ever. Oh and have some schnapps too!
  24. Yep I agree chook, I still think we'd be better running him as sub for a while and give some youngsters a crack first. Having him come on midway through the third as an impact player might be a better way to manage his fitness levels for the moment. Might be a better way to reduce his frustration with the heavy tags flright from the start of games too. Can't See it happening though. Can't see him being dropped either with Tracc out now. He is one of the best midfielders I've ever seen. God I hope he gets back to his best somehow and he's still wearing our jumper. A wicked problem for everyone at the club right now
  25. Then why play Clarry? Run him as sub and start brown on the field. Make Clarry earn a full game.
