  1. I have listened to the tape a few times. His tone was not that he didn't want to coach it was that he wanted to make the right decision for the club and the players at the end of the year after what i guess would be their review. The comment re the date was raised by the panel and he just joked about it and said he might check the contract but thought it had that in it. Obviously he hadn't looked at the clause or thought about it. I have not ever heard him say that- he wants to go to Essendon- it is only speculation from the general public and maybe media. Anyway that interview was discussed in another thread last week and we have moved on.
  2. How quickly some have forgotten Bartram as well.
  3. Well done Ricky! I also have heard that Nathan Jones is eligible but it is strange he is not in that list of odds.
  4. In my dreams this week in reality maybe round 9 against the Roos. They are wining some unexpected ones but we have had the wood over them for a few years and we seem to match up reasonably well against them. No Hayes this year either!
  5. Congrats to Travis on reaching his 150th - I love watching him run down the wings and pass it into Robbo or Neita. He seems to have so much time to make his play and usually so accurate with his kick placement. This year has been hard for all, not just TJ, as they haven't been able to get into a rhythm of play or had the same personnel to learn to work with. He'll be back to his old magic when the team consolidates again. Go Traaaaaaaavis!
  6. The article in the Herald Sun adds to my post re ND and some people's hasty judgment. There is another thread going on the article. http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/com...5E19742,00.html
  7. Yes of course I would expect the board of any company to evaluate and monitor progress. That is the very point - we have to trust the system in place that the elected board by us 'shareholders' make learned decision based on facts and information that we are not privy too. However all business have an ebb and flow of profit and losses and they are judged over a longer period than 5 matches into a season. Knee jerk reactions after every loss is so predictable. The 10 years of ND development has been under extraordinary difficult circumstances and I think we have done well to survive- remember it wasn't long ago we were nearly gone as an organisation. We should actually be glad that ND has stuck by us- it must be very difficult for him to see the finances and facilities of many teams he has to compete with. Sometimes it is better for a company to work together to reach the desired gaols. Changing personnel can often backfire and lose a lot of the team building that was in place and not always solve the problem.
  8. Sure Dees Rule 4eva- I am not really pointing the finger at you - it is more about my frustrations on many threads of the constant same old arguments from some. For instance it is IMO naive to think changing the coach is the easy solution to our future success. Of course it is the right of us all to have an open say on this site - I too am expressing my opinion. I might add I totally agree about your point about fair weather supporters!
  9. Sorry guys but I have had enough of the 'put downs' of our team and coach! We would not win the flag if some of you 'experts' were the coach or on the match day committee or training the guys!
  10. They did get a free kick. We actually kept playing and kicked a goal that was disallowed and the ball brought back to the centre and Freo got the free kick. They got a goal as a result of that forward entry play!
  11. Weather forecast Godees was on the Foxtel League Teams program last night. I hope you are right and not them. Thanks Strange but True for your info.
  12. YM - I love optimistic positive people. Great to have them around- it sure beats reading the doom and gloom posters. We need to all remain positive and look for the 'silver linings' in all situations.
  13. We'll need our wet weather gear- 17 and rain! Also there was another thread re before and after functions- can we have the info again please.
  14. Hey that's a good article in the Australian that deserves a thread of its own BUT is no one reading carefully-Green with a hamstring injury!!!!! Another key player(if true) - this is just getting ridiculous.
  15. Exactly - they are the kids. No disrespect to Bartram but he looks SO young( I doubt he shaves!) close up at the MFC shop. Just turned 19? maybe. MFC takes a conservative time with the 'kids'- Bate and Dunn both played VFL in their first season to establish themselves. Bartram was an exception to the rule and yes Geelong's Tom Hawkins has an exceptionally mature body but I will question whether he will still be as effective later in the season. Throwing the kids in against strongly developed men is crazy. Let them mature and risk less injury. LOL to myself re injuries but you know what I mean. Sides may be using their kids to placate the fans but will they last the year.
  16. Yes I'll be there and this is also my fourth year and hopefully another win in Sydney.
  17. Brock was signing autographs today at the MFC shop and said 3 weeks to me today. Let's hope he is!
  18. Wheatley also jarred his shoulder when laying a tackle in the last quarter- he struggled on playing with one arm. Jones has rolled his ankle according to 3AW. Wheels hamstring. Brown had an icepack on his calf. Dunn has been mentioned in a report I read but seemed fine at the game. I thought it was an excellent game by the team despite the loss and they showed guts to keep at it. Well done boys I am proud of you.
  19. Yep I'll be there too! Life is not just about choosing the good times but walking the journey through the ups and downs. True blue! Mind you it does feel good when we win and an empty feeling when we lose. I see my role as a supporter is to be there for the team- the support crew in the outer.
  20. I've been there for the last 5 years for the match flying up from Melbourne and will be there come what may. Come on the Dees and get season 2007 back on track.

    Bo Nixon

The case is scheduled for next Monday so Lynden can be available to attend.
  22. What a luxury to have so many possibilities- and then there is Bartram and Sylvia in round 4 or so. Exciting choices, barring the ever present fear of injury. It will of course mean that quite a few will have to fight for selection each week. I guarantee Holland will play against the Saints- didn't he shut the G train down in the final. I also saw enough of the way Biz played to know he is well and truly on his way back! I am not sure why Yze is getting all the negative vibes when Robbo also had a game to forget on Saturday. He had far less impact then Yze.
  23. Just read the HUN and came to the same conclusion. Hello! There were two teams out there! They did mention Frawley but what about Daveys early season speed and White's work in the goal area etc The Age report is quite good just the wrong heading for a Demon fan. On another note-Loved the story on Walls v Sheedy in the HUN!
  24. Great day sitting in the stands- dam hot out on the ground. The Tigers ran out of puff in the last quarter. In the second quarter we weren't winning the centre clearances and stoppages which is why they got back to I think 10 points. - got to do better this season. I loved watching Davey today- his relentless chase down and tackle on the 50 m arc in the last quarter was fantastic. Bruce played well but inaccurate with his snap shots. Green solid. Biz looked composed and cool headed in the backline. It will add depth to the group. The defense did well as the Tigers kept peppering the goal area but couldn't get clean shots away due to the pressure. Carol's direct point kickout to a Tiger player not good! White in the forward line instead of Neita gave a good target. This will be a part of the plan this year- heard ND on SEN sometime in the last couple of weeks on that. I thought Matt Bate was just so so today- he can do so much better. Loved Jones tenacity. For TJ's first game back he just looked like he hadn't missed a game. Robbo hardly touched the ball and was well out played especially when the ball was being bombed in in the first half.
