  1. We changed our forward structure considerably around the Queens Birthday round. After some fine tuning even with Tmacs dip in form it really started to fire up. I dont think its unreasonable to expect it to keep improving and this year we will see some even bigger scores by us.
  2. Did you tell them Max sends his best? I used to get worried about hawkins when we played them. They must have nightmares about Gawnie.
  3. 64 days to go folks.
  4. I'm so glad we won the flag last year instead of the year previous. We had no real severe disruptions ie 30 games in 30 days....shorter quarters, postponed matches etc. All 2021 had was sometimes no crowds....different venues and a killer Dees team. Our flag cannot be questioned.
  5. I know we are up for it too.
  6. Yea same here. They have suffered like us. I think a lot of people were happy for us to win a flag but I reckon that will all change this year.
  7. I really cant wait for round one.
  8. Our recruiting has been fantastic and we are reaping the rewards.
  9. In 2018 I was very, very tempted to tie my beloved Dees scarf around Clarkson's fence( he lived opposite my parent's place) but didnt want to not get it back. It was funny to see him mowing his lawns a week after we kicked hawks out of the finals.
  10. Has any team won a granny with as many young players as us? It is unusual.
  11. I loved the blank stare on all the doggies supporters. That one bald bloke ( can i say that) shaking his head in disbelief....been there...done that.
  12. I wont let the side down re page numbers... We may have won the free count but gee dogs got some easy ones. But nothing could stop us.
  13. Thanks Goto. I totally forgot about Smith who I think is a very underated player. For a club that used to have a backline that really struggled we have not only the best in the comp but one with enough to field another very strong one in the twos. With Bbb finding a return to his old form and also becoming good at contested marking and Fritta emerging as a key player. our forward line has caught up. So can't wait for this season to get going. As dominating as our cricketers have been, it's just not doing it for me anymore. I've tasted a flag and I need more. I know it's the Ashes and a patriotic duty....I'm sorry but my heart beats true.....
  14. Very happy for Adam to be back . But who comes out for him. He was replaced by Petty who has been great so it's hard to see him sidelined. Rivers isn't going anywhere and is not really like for like. I also wonder how Hunt is going to get back in. Nice issues to have but hard for such loyal players.
  15. It's a faint one but I love it. That was a ripper goal. His acceleration is a thing of beauty.
  16. Yep, Sadly I find myself singing along with the hawks, swans and tigers theme song. I feel so dirty afterward. Especially the hawks.
  17. All polls I've read put our theme song up there with Tigers as one of the catchiest Under red, white and blue would have covered the Norf merger but cooler heads prevailed. It astonishes me that Fitzroy fans just had their club ultimately disappear.
  18. I thought Goody wouldn't be around in 22. I'm a fickle fan but I'm glad he is still coach. Gone from his job on the line to the club's most successful coach in close to six decades.
  19. Trac to Roos... " of course I'm in....I'm a superstar"
  20. So true. I guess other fans have had the pleasure of a cup many times. That we have all hung in there for almost six decades speaks volumes about us and we shouldn't take any flack about being fair weather fans or off to the snow.
  21. I have been enjoying the Ashes but nothing now compares to winning a flag. Footy 22 cant come quick enough.
  22. The more I watch the replay, the more I appreciate Fritta's roving abilities and uncanny goal sense. He has light speed reflexes and to be fair it was probably good Hannan moved on and Melksham didnt get a guernsey . Frittas skills are in a very elite class.
  23. Yep. I reckon not a few defenders are afraid of his choosing speed and I'm sure it makes them nervous.
  24. Were you happy with the results? The team of the blonde coloured moon.
  25. Thanks Dees in October. I think I will stop doing these. My confidence is taking a battering. One question that was easy was Lyon interviewing someone who said they would have kicked nine. I didnt see who it was but even without the suggested names I would have said Allen Jakovich. And he probably would have. He was a remarkable forward. But looking at our forward line now its still pretty exciting. Bbb prior to us had one bad year and THREE years of being one of the best forwards in the land. In a very average team as well. Tmac is a mixed bag. But when he does fire, he is a defender' s nightmare and he is exceptionally strong. Kozzie and Spargo will keep improving. Dogga likewise. Fritta is the interesting one. If he continues improving on his current trajectory he will bag over sixty next year. So we had ( still do) a great midfield. Then we built the best backline. And now we seem to have created a very potent forward line. It took a while for it to sort itself out but it really gelled coming into the finals. I'm not sure which forward to be the most excited by. I think maybe Kozzie. I do think this year will see us making over 100 points a game on a fairly frequent basis.
