St Louis win the first "one-game playoff" at Atlanta in a highly controversial game with an in field fly ruled in the 8th with Atlanta trying to rally back. Mind you, if your team has an unlucky loss and you respond by throwing rubbish onto the field, you don't deserve the win as a fan in the first place IMO - especially onto your own field!

Yep - just fell in a heap. 3-11 at the home stretch. Killed us. We did well to be in that position but lost form at the wrong moment, didn't deserve to make the playoffs as a result. Pumped for Oakland (as much because I dislike Texas). 12 games back at the end of June - head of their division for one game and it's the end of game 162. Amazing. Oakland - The Anti-White Sox.

No mention of Miguel Cabrera? Really? First bloke in 45 years to win the triple crown, 15th of all time. Amazing achievement and has been pretty exciting to follow in recent weeks.

Headed into this thread to write pretty much that. After the rant above rant I watched Cummins bowl - he's just a joy to watch. Such talent. Then I watched the Indians have a go... wow? Continual short balls at 120-130kph at Watson's hip. They're sharking - surely.

Geez bowling in these matches staggers me sometimes. Players make such immense mistakes - forget their basics while going for far, far too much. Morkel bowling a rank full toss with no one at square or mid wicket is case in point.

The No T$ No B$ Thread
I think North played a mini grand final last night and are due for a bit of a lull (Adelaide last night perhaps?) and Freo haven't been too bad in Melbourne this year. I wouldn't put it past them. We'll have a clearer picture next Sunday night, but you're right - it'll likely come down to Freo needing to drub us to make it. Which is ok because they will.

Great local band - if you're in the mood for a dance, check out Embezzler. Northeast Party House - they know how to throw a party.

Brett Lee has called it a day. Congratulations on a wonderful, often underrated, career.

Another big crash before the finish - this time involving Cavendish. Griepel claims the win. Goss fourth.

Oh no! Kumar misses another double ton- out for 192 for the second time. Left in the 190s for the second time in 3 innings. He moves to number two for the most amount of times above 190 (11) - 1 behind the Don (12).

Voeckler? I bet my right one he leads at some stage this year...well - perhaps that's a bit extreme... I'd put the dough down though.- CYCLING
Sad news about Andy. Injured his pelvis in a crash and pulled out a few days ago - is still hoping to make the Olympics. Read he was quoted as saying he'd rather finish last at the Tour than not be able to ride in it.- Major League Baseball
We've just come off an 8 (?) game winning streak. Lost the last few though, need to get back to winning ways against the Dodgers.- Major League Baseball
27 up 27 down. Who was the bloke who threw the 28, 28 down game? Think he was a Detroit player? On the 27th batter, thrown out at first but called safe. I'll look up home runs, not sure if it's true bit will have a look. Global warming perhaps? - CYCLING
