No problem with Clark the player & batsmen & tactician, none at all.... but he should never have been the Australian test captain. as Warne's showing, he shouldn't have been as well. poor choice of leader.

is it time to use a ball that moves about more, in jnr cricket, & in development stages of our local cricket?

Han't been the same since around the late 90's, I think, give or take. What happened at that time (late 90's) ???? as footy started to go 'Off' as well, slowly ebbing away. By 2005, footy was going sour like milk in the sun. cricket for me was going off under Ponting, & clarke's just capped it off. better recently with Boof at the helm, but what on earth has happened this tour? & other past tours?
  5. its not certain, I agree. but he's not worth much atmo, & has a lot more ability inside to unlock. just as wattsy is doing, as Tmc did, as frawley did, as Gawn currently is.
  6. he's got value, but they're not giving up they're first pick for that deal, they need guns. I don't think we'll trade Toump, at this stage. Toump will be a project player, IMO.

This shows we are well below our capacity, which we got nearer in the 2nd test.... to the poms credit, they keep us under pressure thru Anderson & Broad. For so many in our camp, Including Smith & Clark, & even Johnson, something not right in our group. I hope Warnie isn't making restless vibes. sense theres something going on, Re leaders, & power issues? maybe 2 camps developing?

I sense not all is smooth behind the scenes atmo.. too many players are off they're games collectively from the start of the series. batting fielding bowling, like there is a distraction going on.

our players so far this series look to me like they are unsettled by something. they don't look in harmony to me I hope the talk over our summer of boof having too much power, hasn't bought an antagonist into our teams hierarchy, upsetting a functioning outfit. which changes have occurred in the last 6 months ? .
  10. a trade package to jag [Prestia/O'Meara] double, would be sensational. happy to run the risk on jeager's knee. imo, the Suns need some mature aged conservative type players, to settle that place down. we need more talent. I can think of a few players we've rounded off nicely, that'll suit the Suns situation. take your pick from half our side.
  11. imo gazza always knows more, than he lets off. people like 'purple', only find things after they are left out, for him to sniff out. should have been a truffle finder, 'purple'. & let loose out in a big paddock.
  12. well, a truckload of the AFL'ss cash will do then. can we get them to guarantee a loan or 2 ?
  13. no point leading the race on the first corner; its the last you'd like to be traveling well at, & with a strong finish.

succession plan for Smith; let Clark do it for another 12 months, whilst Smith consolidates his batting, & learns the leadership position. In the meantime Clark to 5, & find a regular number 4. & look to blood an opener, maybe at 4 at first.. another wicket moheen,,,,,, gorn !

I've been listening while driving home, was worried, til I heard the score when they were 201... now 277,,, & a wicket just falls. It looks & sounds to me, like the wicket is getting better to score runs on??? we may be right, if our top order can get amongst them in our 2nd dig... & then hopefully we can knock them over?
  16. adds a new dimension with trading with GWS, GCS, the Cats, etc
  17. this is the trouble with the club... you sound so business like in your descriptions of this issue, it sounds like I would talk about an engine part. But I would still have the emotion & passion in my words & sounds, describing the car part. this is the reason the aFL are fcuking it up so badly... they are treating it from a distance like an stock on stock market the other side of the world... there is no empathy, & this is why they are failing BADLY imo.. the game isn't a business..... its the peoples game..... only those who see $$$$ in it, treat it like a business, & this is why they are messing it up. its like a family member, to people, genuine supporters.. you don't repair a loved one. you love them & help them. If they go off the rails on drugs & turn nasty bashing & murdering people, you become distanced from them. this is where business has taken the game, since going Pro. the people are distancing, from the thing they don't recognise anymore.
  18. so what if its irrelevant, its how he honestly feels at this time, so in that, it is relevant.
  19. the business is bound to fail, if it cannot start getting the supporters back re-engaged with the players of our club once again, the emotional attachments to the Mfc has been severed, as if cheated on, just like a partner in marriage has gone out secretly having an affair, cheating, & emotionally shutting out the other partner.. the emotions are severed. this has to be repaired before any business model can be applied.
  20. your missing the point, I think. support is emotional, & requires the senses are stroked. that is, that we see, hear, feel, smell, touch, the things we need to belong to. we need the connection that comes from talking to, shaking hands with, having discussion with our idols. .......... we need to feel the players belong to us, as much as we belong to the club. since the Northern stand was built, the last the last little bit of matchday closeness we had, was removed in the design of that stand. the quarter time huddles are nowhere near thew supporters, but only serve the MCC members area, the kids can't get near the players in the players-race, as it is now within the MCC en close ure. can't get to the rooms after Wins anymore. .......all in all, the people have been royally shafted, since that monstrosity Ate the 'smokers stand'. .
  21. No, its a footy club first, which is at the elite level, so it has to treat its patrons to footy club hospitality, to get the support from the patrons. ...... after this, the club being so big, needs to be managed, football wise, supporter base wise, & memberships as well; & the revenues need to be managed, & the clubs attributes sold to raise revenues. so the people side, needs to be run for the people/supporters & members... access is critical for continued support (what the club can give to its supporters to get them to become regular membership holders) not raise that dreaded drawbridge on them. treat the supporters well & equally, & loyalty will be returned. happiness from being in touch with your idols & club, should happen, & memberships should then follow. these to me are very basic steps, that we've lost over the last couple of decades. & I'm not surprised that finally the numbers are dwindling at attendances, & TV viewing as well. the League has distanced itself from its grass roots supporter base, & angered stake holders such as VFL supporters, etc. the League has been trashing the game at lower levels, like the VFL,,, using it as a playground for the draftees to practice non-winning strategies (not try to win at VFL but to learn tactics & skills). ....... this kills the VFL competition, & kills the VFL supporters, & disgusts AFL supporters like me, witnessing the AFL treat footy people so appallingly. the people that come out to spend their time & money to watch, or the volunteers at clubs who spend their heartfelt efforts, only to receive this crap treatment. the game, sorry, the AFL has moved too far away from treating it as a sports-game for followers, & tries to make it something pretentious. ....... this IS where they have gone wrong! the people are speaking thru disappointment, at home in front of the teve; & by non attendances.
  22. the problems start from our club wanting to hide behind Castle walls.. we are a club who has lost its outside support base to an enormous extent, & those left hanging on mainly won't let go for fear... we are a culture dominated by fear,,, essentially; evidenced by wanting to feel secure behind the locked gates & fences. this culture has grown & become the subtle but overbearing value that hurts us by doing everything with nice P's & Q's We we won't stand up to anyone with fight, but when a legend flattens one of ours, we'll scream 'blue murder', like the biggest whingers about... we are getting what we fight for; or Not ! we are soft because we aspire to be soft. this is the nature of those gates & fences... self protectionism. we are dying, not from other clubs, but by our own fear, & by being the King of the Castle. except in today's footy world, we aren't the only King.
  23. yes, after I find something i like about a player, I try to find the bits I don't see through the romance,,, so I can then see the whole footballers image. .... this is why I didn't see the big like about scully. couldn't understand it, he was a manic athlete & that's about it, but I didn't trust myself over & beyond experienced people, who have watched U-18's for years, as a career. as I learn, i start to believe more.
  24. why narrow it down to such tight restrictive language, which only serves to miss the real issues. its not demographics, its attitudinal. its not all boys club, that is a small part.
