  1. we need to get into players of interest heads even IF they do not move; if in the future they consider moving, for whatever reason, they will hopefully already feel flattered in our past interest in them, & might have another thought for us. lets get out & about sowing the seeds of desire in other players, that of wanting to come to the NEW Demons.
  2. list improvements happen at all levels of our list, progressively. Small steps when needed, bigger ones when available.
  3. hunger desire breeds courage to do anything to get what you need, if its in deep enough. but they still need natural talent to build onto. but without that desperate hunger, all the skills in the world wouldn't equal a sammy newman hairpiece.
  4. burnt out by failure yes, but when kids first come into an AFL club, they immediately adopt the ways of the peers, within the first month. ...... if the peers are only semi Pro & are casual about success, (as we have been mostly for Decades, saving for some brief stints under Barass/Northey era's) this club has been totally cosy, all mates, nice, & casual about real success. We pay them too easily for little return, & after generations of players have been easily satisfied, just with pats on the back, or the soft sounds of nice condolences after losses. but they still get payed all the same... the pain is easily removed by Monday, along with the bruises, if any. These generations of players each added layer upon layer of 'soft', to this clubs culture... that culture accepted by the players, & this they're domain, they guard and protect as they're own. ............................. at least it has been that way. Our culture has been woefully soft for as long as I care to remember. Apart from when we had some real coaches, who payed heavily trying to get the place shipshape, Yet again..... only to leave, & then see it return to where it was, cosy, & in slippers... .
  5. exactly, blzb, finally someone gets it. we have to start somewhere, when A grade players don't want to move. .... & we must have more quality Leadership. & finals winning experience. Kennedy may be the one we can? get. Let see what pans out. I'm sure we'll get one at least. & if JKennedy falls out, there's always a Steve Austin somewhere , or a Patrick McGoohan
  6. well the icing gone soft on the cake but they still have a mean cake. so it won't take too much to spruce it up. after all, the hard work is already done in the kitchen. they just need to get the present ation right, & the finished writing up top. some could call it the scorecard. not so much the stats sheet. stats don't win games, points do. like th doggies who have built ontop of a decade of solid club growth off field, & on re list, the doggies are now ready to blossom. Freo are solid in the contested are... so its not far to travel, to fine tune the rest. IMO.
  7. Ross Lyon has to make more attacking changes to the style, or go out backwards. so getting McCarthy & Bennell will help, but only if they can get enough ball to them. Hogan will stay with us, IMO.
  8. yep, & where would that $M 1,000,000.00_____ go, maybe that was spent in France ? on property? or such? .... Nice` little earner, spent over there in France`...
  9. Nope, I wouldn't do that, that for me is Too aggressive trading. I see too many risks, for what we pay off in that deal.. I would do Howe + our 3rd Rnd pick, for GCSuns pick 10... ..... then give them P-10 + our 2016 2nd Rnd pick, IF that would get us Prestia. IF not, I would just do the Howe part for P-10, then use that pick on a Weideman, from the national draft. Keeping our P-5/6 for the draft as well. hoping for Charlie Curnow.
  10. or stringer sons, it would have been the footy recruiting committee decide on that I've not given up on Wines; every year is a differing scenario. things change, that is the only certainty. watts could eventually benefit, from the Nev Jetta model of tactics. & a little similar to the StevieJ one as well.
  11. agreed & keeping NQR's on the list for too long, hurts the list, as those players not on the UP, then get stale; & this hurts the atmosphere & culture around the club... so freshening it up, even with a change of depth players helps stop the rot.
  12. Is it really necessary to put your information directly at another person, in such a derogatory way, rpfc ? .... you simply could have explained that, without your insecurities needing you to put another human down at a personal level. I mean they didn't jamb your toe with an axe, or anything.
  13. as a top up to our list, obviously we won't get 8 A graders, maybe 1, or 2 IF we are very lucky, so I'm happy for him as a replacement of Bail, MJones, or McKenzie,
  14. when we were back in the tom lynch (crows) draft year, I was sentt a pm by a young poster saying lets not draft Lynch, new him at school,,,, he's so arrogant !! we have to get past this bigotry or bias of this conservative club, if we make mistakes after they're recruited we straiten them up or sack them, simple. What if a WA afl club has been telling Bennell to act up, & get sacked, so he can get home to WA cheaply ? What if Jack Darling was advised to get in trouble at a Pub, Pre-Draft, if he doesn't want Mfc to draft him, & he wants to stay in WA? .
  15. 4 years on $400k+.... pffft. let see what he gets when done & dusted. ambit claims.
  16. Ok, we shall see when the outcome is finalised, & public. I don't think players will miss many games,,, if at all. it won't be printed like wada backs off, but the outcome will be similar.
  17. like to hear this, & we should also, after we hopefully get this kid, go after Daniel Talia, when his contract comes up in the near future. hmmn, pity he hasn't any hairs to hide them in. then they'd be more private. we have to stop listening to this stuff & make our own mistakes, & own that, rather than hearsay & innuendo. we keep tripping over our own feet listening to others. we missed darling for these reasons. .
  18. I think you've missed the whole boat Blzb... the afl appeased the aflpa, with no sanctions,,, after asada did nothing, but made a rotation policy of their very 'own',,, & the (deliberate/inept???)? paper work & investigating... so after those things were dealt to the peoples concerned; ...... then WADA got involved with they're ape peal, they have got their monkey,,, after the fallout of discontent hit the players with the appeal announcement, costing them form & happiness, ending up with that monkey getting his juste dû, & sent packing. I would say WADA is satisfied; As I expect the AFL is relieved, & also not in court challenging any other ape actions, & the aflpa will be satisfied at this point. this is a diplomatic & sports political outcome. just as our not guilty verdict was... tried in the public arena, not guilty your honor, but we'll donate $500,000.00 to the poor box for your discretion's. . I could have saved you all a couple of years of thoughts & virtual Ink, wearing out your keyboards, from the start of this joke of a trial.
  19. you men like Hird, & maybe Watson, seen O/S recently ???? holidays? WADA have their pound of flesh,,, & have been seen to sort the issue of supplements in AFL. We all got the message over the last couple of years, its not about vengeance Blzb, its about change. ..... change has happened already.
  20. NFL

anyone know when the SF49ers will be on CH-73?
  21. we can't have too many kids all at once... as the ratio is important in maintaining a solid comradeship without losing a healthy direction... see GCSuns. Steady as she goes is the way forward, with players we can bring in easily, if the young talent messes up, getting too smart by half. Melksham fits the bill as bringing up the level of our list... just hes not one of the A graders that we are still chasing.
  22. i shaw am glad that someone saw & reported on the important details, in this sorry saga of all our woes. goodonya DA
  23. exactly. he is a running back/winger that we needed, to instill into our list & gameplan. he's a good start, to change from the likes of Bail & MJones, Mckenzie etc. These are all just stepping stones along our new journey, with a footy dept who know the right way about things, but we still have to take little steps across this pond, as the bigger fish haven't wanted to leap onto our Lilly, in recent times.
  24. when Sheedy or Goodwin get him under they're wing. ..... the bummers have gone backwards, since Sheedy was chopped; & a new bummer board installed, Matthew Knights was removed, and that Hird parachuted in... as have we, since that Craig Hutchison came out of a Wheely Bin, outside one of our MFC peoples homes, (like https://bobthebard.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/jack-in-the-box.jpg), to surprise & embarrass Sheeds, after his secret MFC interview meeting... as we now Know, Sheeds went to GWS, who are traveling just terribly, after his "too old", ancient ways...... talk about cutting off our Nose, merely to spite our own face. .
  25. yes, & admired Rhys Shaw, except for his family name sake... a very hard worker across the ground, I was rapt when he got a go with the Swans. & he's helped them a Lot. I know little of Melksham, as I don't like the bummers, so they're a team I've watched least of, over the last few years.
