So far you're the only one.

Booze .. swinging birds ... sounds like a great party. And then the Demons playing footy for an after party!
-
Hit them a few times with a hammer so you don't feel out of place. (Also for a good omen for the Demons.)

So just to keep everyone's minds off their nerves ... "Caligula" was a childhood nickname of the Roman emperor Gaius Caesar. His father was a famous general and he spent his childhood hanging around in army camps around the empire. He used to dress up as a soldier to the delight of the real soldiers, which is where he got his nickname. He grew to hate the nickname, and in turn came to be hated by the Roman public for his severe habits of ducking his head, "fending off" senators with his elbows, throwing the laurel wreath, and appealing to the high priests for everything.

Those bastards. They'd do anything to put us off our game.

I realise it's the pointy end of the season, and we're neck deep in it, and in the drivers seat, and so everyone needs a bit of cheering up ... A few snippets from the GFC bigfooty match preview: With geelong showing at the selection table they have no intent of moving tge ball on quickly we are now look foward to next season bar some massive choke from melbourne. Judging by social media posts this week if we somehow beat the Dees there is going to be a whole lot of salt in the air, its unbelievable how much we are hated. I notice watching replays of last weeks game against GWS just how many times Cats players sidestepped and sold candy, particularly in D50. Not just Bews either. Selwood, Tuohy, Duncan. Happened so much I feel it must be an instruction. A simple action like that gains you at least 20 extra meters and an element of surprise for defensive structures oppositions set up ahead of the ball coming out of our D50. Dees will smash us in the ruck and will smash us in the middle...:( Most of their comments are not about tonight's match itself, but about next season and rebuilding. They've given up already!
-
Thankfully, there's a football match on TV to look forward to. And we're playing!
-
For those suffering nerves, relax. This game is already won. Geelong cannot beat us. I rarely feel absolutely confident of a win. Only twice this season, in rounds 16 & 18. Today I am absolutely confident of a win. The only way we can lose is if we refuse to kick straight, or become static and fumbly, are second to the ball, get shafted by the umps, get key injuries, or just simply have bad luck.
-
It's possible that with professional umpires, they would train to know which umps should be watching the ball and which ones watching off the ball, downfield or wherever the situation calls for. They could pay delisted or retired players who still want to be involved to role play different game day situations, over and over as required. But no, we can't have that. A couple of current umps have highly paid day jobs, and even though umpiring is their side gig, the AFL wrings its hands and doesn't know how to get around that. The game is being held to ransom.

They can play at Windy Hill but not on the oval. They can play footy but not with a Sherrin or Faulkner. -

The team ought to be coached by John Northy. -
They shouldn't bring in the Association Football rule for out of bounds, but if the AFL ever change it again, it's even money that's what they'd do. Because AFL.

If this one requires football knowledge, I'm a low chance to get it. Lot of players with not many games to their names though. -
They're running their hands together and chortling at AFL house. And raising a glass to the pandemic. They got their night grand final by stealth, as planned, without the stealth part.
