When Roos talked about players still being scarred, they were partly scarred before Neeld started. They didn't need someone coming in and tearing strips off them for being weak so and sos. That would have been the right time for a Roos to come in, had we been able to have our time over again. Someone who knew when to give them a cuddle. Given a different list at a different stage of rebuild, Neeld might have turned out okay. But he was thrown in the deep end himself and only ever learned to dog paddle. I dunno if he's a great bloke or not. Never met him. But gee ... he's finished in football now. And for what. EFC could have waited until the end of the season. What does it matter now? Their season's over already. Or they could changed his role and not told the outside world, for appearances. But no, they had to humiliate him. He might not even get a job in country footy now. When EFC have the worst recruiter in the league. When they have a coach who has coached out of talented players the ability to kick or handpass or do anything much right. When their CEO sometimes seems not to know what sport he's administering. What a disgraceful way to handle their current plight. Nice message for their other staff. If we can shaft you to save the senior staff, we will. It's just one bloke but it shows the rot that has set in at that club. And long may they rot. They've earned it.

Breakdown. Tommy got 5 & 4 Salem got 2 & 0 Lewis got 1 & 0 Meaning Max, Oliver & Harmes scored 5 & 1, 4 & 2, 3 & 3. But who got what? Hard to think of Harmes scoring 4 or 5 (but stranger things happen I suppose). Let's pretend he got 3 & 3. Then one of Gawn & Oliver got 5 & 1. Strange discrepancy.

The Curnow Brothers at the Tribunal

Stephen May must be in contention for the Brownlow. Can't see how else he gets off. -
Can we find this poor fellow a job at Richmond?

The player you are thinking of is Vandenberg

Matthew Lloyd is still trying to work out how there were 3 premiers in the AFLX. He may have worked out by round 16 that Hogan copped a jab to the throat. Because the new improved MRP is still chooklotto
-
I can't work out why, if they focus on this, they don't focus on the jab to the scone that Nev copped. If they're after scandal then it's a scandal if Mr Christian doesn't single that out on his video recorder.

That clown would want to hope Viney doesnt't get up again. I say keep him until the Carlton game. They will think they're a chance against us and seeing JV in and raring to go will give them second thoughts.

Guy who gets the ball and kicks goals. Whatever works. Buddy Franklin, in no ones mind a traditional full forward or CHF. Just a great player who gets the ball and kicks goals. Adam Goodes, not really a ruckman, not really a KPF. Just ran around doing good things all over the ground. In no way am I saying Weideman is anything like those players, or anywhere near their level of ability. What I am saying is, with really good players (the idea being that Weideman will eventually be one), the team kind of self organises to allow them to flourish. We're doing that now with Hogan. He's not a stay at home FF. (He can do it, but it's a waste.) We're working to his strengths of mobility, strong marking, good hands, good brain. It's now up to Weideman to show what he can do. If it's good, the forward line will self organise to accommodate.

The thing that was so good to see is that he's got his football smarts working for him again. When he came on the scene that was what stood out. (Like Spargo last week.) After all the concussion, when he came back he looked like a ball chaser. Like an ANB with better skills. Today he was everywhere and did countless one per centers. Gee it was good to see a footballer go about his craft.

joeboy - analyses much enjoyed
-
they've been throwing it all game
-
ANB two chances to redeem his uselessness and f***s both of them
-
ugly game
-
skills everywhere are diabolical

Modern footballers just can't kick straight! Three easy misses on goal
-
Skills are unbelievable. No one can kick it, handpass it, catch it or pick it up. Have these guys been playing all their lives, or have they just picked up the game in the past 6 weeks?

Looks like Brendan Bolton put the away uniforms in the wash with the new towels. Can't they get anything right at Princes Park?

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS

Couldn't happen to a nicer set of f***ing @rseholes. But seriously, they will never get over it until they say, yeah, we did it. We wish we didn't, it wasn't good, it caused harm, but there you are. We did it. And this is how. They would be surprised how accommodating people can be if you just come clean. -
We've been hearing the strange roaring noise for a while but this seems to be the year where we're going over the waterfall. I saw Dangerfield last night, from not far out from goal, kick a banana on his preferred foot because he was on the near side, ie, the angle didn't suit his non preferred foot. This is a star of the game, supposedly one of the current gems. The same ilk of star of yesteryear, eg Robbie, Greg Williams, Garry Wilson, Daicos, Buckley, Black ... would have slotted it or at least taken the kick no probs, on their non preferred because the angle and flight of the ball suited it better. But no ... the modern star of the game won't risk it because he doesn't trust his skill. We routinely see guys from 30 out or closer stand sideways and kick a banana because a STRAIGHT KICK is too hard???

You b*****d, now I don't know to hate on the most!

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS

How quickly it can turn. Who would have predicted in 64, what was ahead for the mighty Demons. It must have seemed like we'd fight off for the flag every year for ever and ever. Or South Melbourne after 34. Dogs after 54, Tiges after 80. Long droughts that no-one saw coming. Carlton after 95? Talkback radio was full of supporters this morning insisting that they need another 2 years before we can decide if Bolton can coach or not. WTF? It will then be 5 years.... another 5 years of nothingness.... how easily the wheel of fate turns over. They are broken. Now the dons at a crossroads. Please take the wrong fork! The golfer Peter Thomson, talking about Tiger Woods a few years back, was tut-tutting about his messing around with his swing. He said, the winning mentality is such a fragile thing that you don't willingly mess around with it. It can be broken and never come back. At MFC we understand full well how hard it is to get this thing "culture", "winning mentality", etc. It can be done. Look at Sydney. But how easy it is to lose it. Past success doesn't guarantee anything, except a cup in the trophy cabinet to gaze at.
