  1. No, my knowledge is miniscule compared to some other guys around. I know some junior coaches of local teams who have got a couple of kids trying to break into a couple of the u/18 teams (eastern) so I go and watch them from time to time, but not as often as I'd like. My views are from seeing them play, but mostly info passed on by these guys. If you go to the trading board on bigfooty there are some excellent posters who see far more games than myself, eg Weaver and Footyman. Those guys know much more than I do.
  2. Key forwards anyone? We have one genuine key forward who gets a regular game and one who doesn't, that's a major problem.
  3. That's a good point, my preference would be for him to learn from standing next to David Neitz, but that's an entirely different topic...
  4. It's a topic worthy of discussion, although perhaps the delivery could have been a bit better. The question will always remain - What's the best thing for the development of our players? Sandringham are obviously going to do what's best for Sandringham, naturally and fairly. We though, have to work out if having a stand alone team would be better to develop our players like Newton, buckley and Neville, and with the AFL planning on changing the setup to make it alot more cheaper to do this inthe future then finances aren't a concern. Is it better to have a player on the fringe of selection in a strong team so they have to work harder or is it better to give them game time to enhance their development? That's the question, I'm not decided either way just yet, but don't make the mistake of dismissing it.
  5. Only one of them will take him if they are prepared to bid high enough. Cotchin is the kid i hope we'll take. Fast, classy and can get the ball himself, he would compliment McLean and Jones very, very well.
  6. Are you sure about CJ? Far worse players than him have played alot of footy under our current coach.
  7. Ones to watch are Kreuzer, Cotchin, Grimes, Veszpremi, Bongetti and Daniher. Probably a few others as well.
  8. Speaking of fantasies....
  9. Why? There is no evidence to support that claim at all. If he was to come to the club and clean up his act why would any player have an issue with it? Don't make stuff up.
  10. Gibbs is far from a dud, don't get sucked into someone's fantasies.
  11. At this stage I want Cotchin with our first pick, regardless of where we end up. This kid is all class, there's alto of depth for KPP's in this draft, concentrate on them with our other picks.
  12. Petterd will be a fine player, but let's not get too excited, Gibbs is a level above him.
  13. I disagree, right from his very first game he did it, grab some old highlights of him. I'm surprised he doesn't get pulled up for it more.
  14. It's not a bad rule, it will promote contested marking by making it harder for players to push their opponents in the back. You can't push people in the back, it's one of the basic concepts of footy, contested marking is about using your body to out amrk your opponent, not about being able to plant your hands in someone's back and shove. It's a good rule once the players get used to it.
  15. I know exactly what happened, there was no intervention order, do a google search on it, it's pretty easy to find, I just can't be bothered posting a link atm. His point doesn't stand because he is factually wrong on many counts, that's just one obvious example.
  16. As I said earlier, no one but Cousins knows what he did that night. I don't know and all you're doing is speculating. You have no evidence to prove your theory.
  17. So, by your own words if he performs well on the field you 'very highly doubt' that he had much of a problem with addiction because his life would be 'ruined' by the drug in question. But, as Kit Walker has already pointed out Cousins was on fire in this years pre-season, he was BOG in at least one practice match - so by using your reasoning he can't have much of a problem this year either. This is using your own logic.
  18. Sylvia didn't have an intervention order taken out against him, just one example of why your post is a crock.
  19. haha, very true. Kreuzer however, has alot of people saying he could very easily be the first pick, not quite the same situation as Leuenberger. Just depends who has the first pick and what they need most.
  20. The most amusing thing about this topic is that Cousins is not alone with his off field actions. Every single club has players doing exactly the same thing, Victorian clubs included. If you're all naive enough to think he is the only one then that's sad, I just wonder if you'll all respond the same way if/when one of our players are caught. Leaving the PC now so will continue the debate later.
  21. At rave parties water is the biggest seller, not alcohol.
  22. No it's not.
  23. I don't think Davey is a great tackler, more often than not when chasing he pushes the guy in the back rather than properly tackling.
  24. Thankyou for proving my point, why are we so hard on Cousins but we welcomed our other recent high profile trade with open arms?
  25. Except it's rare that anyone who is on ice or another similiar hardcore drug would drink alot of alcohol, so your speculation onthe surface looks inaccurate.
