That's a fair comment, right right that in those days rewards like this would have been completely unnecessary however if you looked back a bit further before those 'glory days', as you described it, both demonland and 'ology were full of virtual open warfare - I'm referring to the dreaded aftermath of the merger days with the Joe vs the rest situation. A thread couldn't go without half a dozen posts before it turned personal and deteriorated into a slanging match. I believe that places like demonland truly reflect the health of the club, and right anything to encourage good healthy debates should be encouraged. If not then there's no one forcing anyone to contribute or even open this particular thread.

I'm very, very happy to hear he thinks Bate and Dunn should be played in the midfield and not forward, i hope that also extends to Sylvia as well. I believe he's played his best footy their where he can play his 'impact' style of footy.

No player is untradeable but he is one of the few guys on our list who can really cut up the opposition with his disposal, and I'd hate to see him win a premiership with another team. I'd like to see what Bailey would be able to get out of him before deciding either way.

B.Holland, M.Jamar, P.Johnson, R.Ferguson and M.Warnock - how lucky are these guys? Does this mean that Daniel Hughes is going to be promoted? If so I'm surprised as I think Neaves has shown more and considering we now only have one genuine ruckman on our list we're now forced into a situation of either trading for a ruckman or using an early pick to secure a good one. The problem with that is that clubs will now know we're desperate to land one so they'll bargain hard against us and the last time we went for a specific type of player and not best available in the draft was a disaster in what ended up being the best draft ever.

I disagree, I think Neaves is already as good as Jamar, even without any AFL experience. Isn't he about 5 years younger as well?

DD, Rory Sloane isn't a name you hear often, can you tell me what you think of him? (I know his junior coach). Last year speed and core body strength was a possible issue with him (an opinion of a club recruiter, not mine), how do you think he has developed this year?

He can still be traded as long as he agrees to the trade and his income remains the same or is higher. If we do trade him then we would probably conrtribute to his salary for the remaining three years of his contract with us.

Sweet Jaded, I'll start the first vote on Sunday night to give people some time to read this thread. One more suggestion, to make it easier to count the votes is it possible to delete all non voting posts or would that be too much work? Cheers

Jaded, I'm happy to run this thing and I agree with you, it's not meant to be an avenue for a whinge (me included ). What do you think of my suggested categories? I'm happy not to do the mod one but I thought it would be a good avenue to give you guys some recognition of the work you've done. So to recap my suggested categories are: - best poster - most entertaining poster - best mod The voting would be that each poster will give a 3 - 2 - 1 nomination (3 being the best, 2 second best, 1 third) over a set time period, say over a one week period. Each week of the finals we'll run each category, for example: 1st week - Most entertaining 2nd week - Best Mod 3rd week - Best Poster and finishing just in time for the GF - probably announce winners GF day. However if the mods want to pick the categories I have no probs with that, just send me a pm and I'll run with it. One person one vote!! Toad33, I promise I'll change my avatar, I agree I've had it far too long but at the time it suited my mood...
