All last year, you blabbering about how melbourne will win the grand final after losing 8 straight and then that whole judd speech and now this about cousins. You are clueless matey. Another thing to add to the positives... It would boost membership levels. It would be great to have a superstar at our club. Imagine how many youngsters would start barracking for the Dee's cause of him as well !!? To the captaincy issue. It has already been said on AFL.com that he is not interested in it and that it's not something that will lure him. It said that he wants to gain respect from a club first. And the last thing. I remember saying that Judd won't play for the Coasters next year. And now it is happening. Let me say one more thing...Which makes me shiver everytime I think about it. Judd went to Caulfield Grammer as a kid and he was A MAD dee's supporter. His favourite player was the great Garry Lyon and throughout his youth it was his ambition to captain the dee's to a grand final. This is no lie. I am not making it up. Even last year he was a "gun" as you say YM but he couldn't string as many games together. Don't know if that was to do with him having a a few bad games or if there were other players more experienced that were played. I have always been on the bell-wagon. He always was a gun. Just needed to be played consistantly.

I tell you what, melbourne supporters from every corner of this state better come to this game. Collingwood supporters always out number us on the queens b'day games, even if we are doing well and they are below the 8 !!! C'mon deeeeeeessss. A) 8 midfielders? Brock, Jones Maloney? B) FF? Neita? What has he done wrong? C) You are pretty much saying get a whole new team? I agree with some points. Ruckman for example. But that's a bit extreme.

Great Idea

Oh good god thankyou Bruce Almighty. Why do people say lay off Bate?! What the hell? He will be a star? Everyone keeps saying "blame it on the leaders, blame it on the leaders". They have been playing in the seniors for quite some time and I agree they should take MOST of the responsibilty, however we need them more than Bate at the moment. They are up to AFL standard and we know what they (Bruce, Green, Yze) are capable of. Yze played reserves on the weekend. Who would you rather drop next weekend, Bruce/Green or Bate. I know my answer. He is not up to AFL standard yet. Why keep playing him in the seniors when clearly he is not benifiting. His confidence will just keep dropping. Why not give him a run in the seconds and get his confidence going and then bring him up. God damn people. He was absolutely woeful today.

Haven't seen Green play a good game for a while. This milestone better fire him up. It's about time he has a cracker. Go Dee's.

I must admit I do agree YM. Why do we have so many passangers? I can't see Brock ever being a passanger. Ever. After what he said in that article. I can't imagine bruce or green or anyone saying that and really meaning it. We would be unstoppable if every player actually stood up and performed every week. Not just a measely two or three.

I would love to see Furgi play on Franklin. Second preference to Rivers if he is unfit. Not sure about Williams. That one does scare me a little bit. Whelan hopefully if he is right, otherwise Bell or even give Bartram a crack. He played well on a forward last year when given the task. Can't remember which game.

Hahahaha. Well. He comes in occasionally, he must be only doing a couple of subjects. Furgi is there too. They're always together. The course is exersice science. I think the thing is that his body is really mature for a 19 year old, (same age as me). He is already built like a machine so it looks like he is not so tall for some reason. Where as furgi is no where near as built as bate but looks much taller. Been pretty tempted to say G'day a few times but wouldnt know what to say after that without sounding like a nob. ha.

Feel sorry for the guy now...Actually go to uni with him, in the same course. Maybe I should apologise . But to Nasher and Big Rhino, I don't mean to be paying out on him. I guess I am still frustrated as hell about the game against the saints. I've just heard everybody talking him up so much so maybe i'm expecting too much. But thinking about it now, maybe was a bit harsh. The leaders were more too blame. Apologies for any all bate lovers. I will watch him more closely. Dappa Dan, great post.

Formerly known as bruceybaby...I now have a new identity. So don't judge this topic simply because of the number of posts I have made !!! I once made a comment about Bate being over-rated. I'm not sure if there are ANY melbourne supporters out there that will agree with me on this, but I don't think Bate should be in our BEST 22 at the moment. Why does everyone rave about him ? Is he really so special ? I think he is the least exciting player of our younger players. Here are some reasons. 1) His skills are pretty average, drops marks, (never seen him kick a drop punt). 2) He is awkward and not the speediest. Reminds me of Ian Perry for Adelaide but not as good. (Even though I don't rate Perry) 3) Defensive part of his game. Rarely do I see him manned up when opposition have the ball. and on friday night right on the mcc members wing where I was sitting he backed out of a marking contest which just made me angry not to mention the number of handballs he made to players that were going to be gang tackled as soon as they got the ball. Everyone keeps bagging Miller about his game on fri as well. Did anyone see the kicks he was getting his way? He wasnt even given a chance. Hopefully have some positive feedback on my behalf... I'm scared I may not have many friendly responses. Peace.
