  1. Hi Chelly. To be honest who wouldn't struggle in this intense humidity! I played golf here today and it's sweltering! Thank god for beer!!

    Yeah ... apparently 90% ... well actually 60%. Temperature 32 degrees.

Tiwis trailing by 4 goals closing in on half time after putting up a bit of a fight and hitting the lead early in the second quarter.

The weather's a lot different to what it was for Aussie's last game at Casey Fields in August and i'm not sure he wants to return to Melbourne anyway.

  2. One of my favourites is Max Gawn whose latest tweet says it all:-

My advice to Max is not to worry about the drive. The last bloke who did that ended up a permanent fixture playing on a cow paddock in Preston for the Northern Bullants.

Can't believe they didn't give Maxy the jumper number 1 in the footsteps of another Maxy (Walker).

    The situation virtually demands it.

  3. Agreed. In this day and age it shouldn't be necesssary.

I hope Waylen has a good day tomorrow and that he gets drafted - any club will do although I hope he finds a friendly environment like the MFC.

Good to see he's back playing and hasn't gone into hiding on the advice of one of the clubs that wants to pick him up.

Are there other players up there who are prospects to be drafted?

  4. Agree with you all the way 'Chippy'. Moderators, close off this thread which is no longer relevant to the MFC.

    Couldn't disagree more.

We're over the fact that Scully's done a runer but that doesn't mean these grubs should be let off the hook.

  5. The fact that Aussie missed his appointment with the specialist in Melbourne doesn't mean he's not having his ankle looked at by someone up in the Top End or that he will be deterred from playing football.

In fact, he is expected to resume his NTFL career with the Tiwi Bombers against unbeaten ladder leader Nightcliff on Saturday, 10 December @ 4pm.

Of course, it's a total co-incidence that the Preseason and Rookie Draft is held just 3 days after that!

  7. CHANGES 2011 - HELLO by The Oracle

The jigsaw puzzle will be completed in about ten day's time when the club will select four rookies to add to its lists which currently appear like this:-

Shouldn't this information have been recorded on the no T$ no BS thread elsewhere on the site?

Also, will the trend continue in the rookie draft of picking bigger bodied players or will we go for some smaller types?

  8. You blokes are getting slack.

The Oracle just announced in his article on the Jack Trengove board that there are ten days to go before the rookie draft.

Also, you can now get bananas for $1.99 kilo. The bottom's fallen off the banana market.

  9. That also makes sense. Fits in with mine nicely.

    Agreed.

Helps me understand some of the things I've heard which were used to explain Scully's abrupt departure from the China tour. Even explains the incredible comment by Alistair Lynch in mid season on On The Couch that Demon fans should be feeling optimistic about the Scully situation. Just another part of the Great Deception.

We're best off to get rid of him. On Footy Classified Grant Thomas started to make a comment about how aloof Scully was, that he had few friends at the club and even commented about the lack of Demons invited to his 20th (what a pi55 up that would have been). Garry Lyon put a stop to that very quickly.

I wonder if our role in the conspiracy was influenced by our knowledge of the prognosis on Scully's knee.

PS: My surname is Zapruder and I was born inside the Texas Book Depository on 22 November, 1963.

  10. I saw this in the background whilst watching Barry's interview.

Cameron Schwab and Craig Cameron catching up.

Does the body language say anything?

    post-2118-0-54331200-1322195626_thumb.jp

They're obviously discussing the contribution of GWS recruiting superstar Phil Scully to the events of the evening.

Either that or or one of them just broke wind.

  11. T'was interesting the comments about how if it were Collingwood or Richmond they and their fans wouldn't put up with the treatment of their club over the issue but that Melbourne has a weak, compliant board and was prepared to cop it sweet.

Been happening for years and we need to do something about that mindset if we're ever going to go places.

  12. We've been labelled as a "soft" club because our players like being mollycoddled but the reality of life in this professional game is you get nowhere with that sort of treatment. As a club, we're living proof of this and the playing group is going to have to learn what it takes to be successful - the hard way.

  14. I don't see what tanking has to do with the issue of the proper compensation for Scully.

    Scully was a #1 pick.

Two mid first round picks as compensation is a joke and now that there's a cloud over how GWS put the Scully deal(s) together, the AFL should step in to provide proper and adequate compensation and not the joke they offered in the first place.
