I’d give us a B+ for (finally) belting teams that we should. It would have been a B- if not. I’d have given us a A if we’d had close losses against the better teams, it’s the nature of these losses which is the most concerning, we seem to lack some answers at the moment.

I agree with the sentiment that the decision on Pert will have involved a process of his impressing the board with his vision for the club moving forward - how to improve revenues (aligned with club direction on no pokies), higher memberships, his experience on building a state of the art training base (with social facilities). Having a seasoned professional who's seen it all from the perspective of taking a club from 38,000 members to 75,000 will have more upside than downside. If, however, he re-introduces Whiteboard Wednesday, I'll spew and firebomb Glen Bartlett's car myself.

Don't forget Andrew that he dropped himself as well. Never seen that before (or likely to again).

This thread, despite its uplifting title, seems to be regurgitating past pain for no apparent benefit. last night, I was channel surfing in bed and came across a Ch44 show called That’s good for footy, or something similar. Low budget weekly show with 2 AFL guest players doing Q&A (really good). Last nights show had Maxy and Jesse on. They were great club ambassadors, only two questions stuck but I thought I’d share: 1. What do you think when you see a kid at the footy wearing a jersey with your number on their back? Max: That we’ve got great club history and Jimmy Stynes is well remembered Jesse: I feel sorry for the kid whose dad couldn’t afford to get the extra 1 to put on the jumper 2. What’s the one word that comes to mind when you think of in playing for Melbourne? I read this thread and I’m just thankful I’m not an opposition coach trying to defend the overall forwardline fire power. If he’s the weakest we’ve got, I’m in heaven.
