  1. Gawn had 35 hitouts to Grundy’s 12......... the midfield make ruckman look good or bad. And on that occasion, the midfield were woeful, and made poor Maxy look ineffective. Also Grundy played a lot forward that game, the defense should take some blame.
  2. Watts fan, but can understand how we got to this point with the lack of intent shown by Jack. My bigger issue is with the club and why this wasn’t addressed earlier: 1- why offer a new contract a year ago? 2- if he isnt training hard enough, pull him aside and address the issue then and there. 3- if he wasn’t playing by the team rules on game day, why did he constantly play in the seniors? 4- if you want contested style football, why does he still look like a beanpole? Should be 10kg heavier/stronger and bashing the opposition up. 5- now if we get rid of him, who replaces him? Will this player kick 30+ goals? 6- if he is in a rut/cycle, wouldn’t it be the coaches job to assist to change the environment to break the cycle?
  3. Good boy frosty. The longer these guys are together as a team, the better we will be.

  6. At least next week (and remaining games) will be in a proper venue for AFL.
  7. Tmac is looking good as loose defender. It's about 6 quarters too late tho
  8. Hope we put in a delayed concussion medical report and [censored] him
  9. Fkn umps didn't see it!!!!!! Cheating [censored]
  10. Both of those stats point to the midfield. The game is all about pressure. If you allow the opposition mids to kick without any pressure, they can put the ball exactly where they want (hands of their forwards). Lever is just a more aerial Hibberd. Both are very good defenders, but both won't stop the likes of Brown, Daniher, etc. if playing man on man. Omac will again put on muscle in the off season. He will be a Talia or May and will be able to handle the gorillas, but that will be in time. There is no one else coming through, and if Garland were fit, I think I'd prefer Omac.
  11. Disappointing all round. Garlett was the only player who can hold his head up. Oliver was ok but not damaging. Tmac should have been in defense to help out the smalls against the wind. Their 3 talls caused havoc for Frost and Omac Lewis needs to take a long hard look in the mirror before casting his opinions on others. Too many dropped marks, no second efforts, poor spoiling efforts. (Prefer Vince to play this role) Gawn was dominant in the ruck but what did we get from it? Needs to ensure our mids get first use and then put the opposition defense under pressure. Too many times ziebell or cunnington walked it out of the middle. Umpires were........(anything I write will be changed to censored) Commentary, see umpires comment above. Lets hope we never have to travel to Hobart again. I think we match up better against a side like GWS. Fingers crossed we can come back from Canberra with 4pts.
  12. Don't think they are barracking.... Leigh Matthews just hates the dees
  13. The thing I find he brings to the table most, is a win at all costs attitude. Not sure if it's inherent or acquired, but he knows what it takes. If for some god awful reason we are in a tight game on Sunday, I feel more confident with him in the side.
  14. John Butcher From Maffra, dairy country Butcher, so chicken wings Ocean-bound could be heading toward the ocean, hence leaving Port.
  15. I'm more excited for the fact that Melbourne had the previous coaches for both of the finalists. Roos set Sydney up and they have been strong for a decade. McCartney instilled a base that enabled Beveridge to come in and take them to finals in first year and the grand final in second. Hopefully they've set Melbourne up so that we have sustained success, and allows Goodwin to take us to a grand final in 2018.
  16. When I read the name of the thread I thought it was referring to the way selection committee went into the game. We needed either Dawes Frost or Spencer (with Gawn resting in forward line and Johan playing up the ground) to help as a link up player. There were miss matches all over the park, and if it isn't fixed this week we will see another L with a big drop in percentage. Would like to see some experience come back in, Dunn Lumumba Dawes/Pedersen and Spencer (think Gawn needs a chop out, plus he can take a contested mark).
  17. Wished they stop showing the stringer goal where hunter should have been called for dropping the ball!! Pretty sure a drop kick whilst being tackled is illegal.
