I think a forum is supposed to have varying opinions. Thousands of fans... So I don't know how anyone can be 'sick of the mahoney bashing. There will always be differing opinions obviously...

Is he from Moggs creek?

And all they had to do was give Carlisle a few games up forward, one against the dogs in 2014 where he kicked 9 from memory? If only we'd done that with Howe, we might be sitting here with a pick 5 !
-
Absolutely, I'm just outlining that our priority needn't be for a 'big man' and the Dawes/Pederson role will ultimately need to be phased out in my opinion - Develop a player in the draft to fill that interchangable role with the mids , or find a player over the next two years on the trade table i think
-
Why does a second KPF to help Hogan automatically need to be a lumbering donkey or a swinging defender? Haven't you noticed the Hawthorn model that wins premierships every year yet? We should be chasing an athletic CHF that can swing into the midfield like a roughhead or gunston, more than we need Dawes/Pederson/Dunn/McD in there. Even a 180cm deadly accurate shot at goal midget would be more imposing than a donkey that "brings the ball to the ground

Tyson had a disappointing year. We're giving him license to have another one or two? I have faith that he will return to his 2014 form, but if he doesn't? If Salem doesn't get a clear run at it and solidfy his spot in the team over the next two years? I'm just running off the Toumpas precedent here - 3 years to show something more than some patchy form.
-
Are Salem/Tyson in the same position as Toumpas in regards to next years upcoming output? I mean, touch wood but if they're free of injury but don't step up and fill their role and position with some consistent football, they may need to be re-considered?
-
So you don't want a last day trade of Lamumba + 2nd round for Varcoe? /s
-
The risk with Toumpas is not only that he won't come good, but that he will turn the ball over in a few crucial matches and quell their momentum and lose them a game or two ruling out any serious challenge for top 4 spot, if Port actually hit their stride next year. Really needs to fix his kicking efficiency and for that reason I want to see him traded.

That sounds almost as quaint a town and as wonderful a coastal community as Scarborough, WA. Home to the Hogan family dynasty

I know a Josh walker thread is not a place for a deep football evolution discussion, but if Hawthorn are THE model then the resting FF/Ruck would be an actual Ruckman and the Dawes/Pederson sized player would be retired in favor of a Gunston style player. Hogan is still our Roughhead, an agile moving powerful forward but I think our forward line would need to find a more versatile athletic and accurate kicking CHF and focus on drafting great midfielders and composed skilfull defenders.

Absolute steal and I think many clubs would be kicking themselves over a missed opportunity if that was the price.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
John Demonic replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's been reported that the club has ordered Jake to live in Jacks spare room as a mentor and they are to spend 3 nights a week doing some wrestling sessions in the basement as part of the 400k over 4 year deal. Welcome to our coaching staff Jakey, let's hope the ferocity rubs off -
I bet they had this deal stitched up a year ago and the recent bali meeting was a cover. You don't just meet a coach half way through trade week and agree to go to their club. Going on the actions of the manager and player all year it has all the hallmarks.

Having Roos & Buckley on AFL 360 this Monday night could finally be a whole lot more interesting and relevant if they had a trade special on. cut the atmosphere with a knife. Aside from queens bday they were a bore all year.

Two years of criticism of the bombers fans ethics in defending the program because of their bias and now that we've got a bomber, it might be better if they get off? Seems hypocritical. -

Maybe they've also rented him out a room with Watts and ordered him to mentor jacky with a few wrestling and boxing sessions on the sofa every week. -
We should have played Howe as FF for two winnable games mid-year, directed all forward entries to him.. given him a bag of 8 goals and then traded him at a fat price ala Jake Carlisle Super Swingman
-
The dons may as well give up on any chance of a premiership in 20 years and just aim to finish ahead of St Kilda for a decade or two, so they should take the deal and do their best to compete with St Kilda, fatten up hawthorn for another 10 years of premierships.

My hobby is to scour the places where people without jobs and hobbys lurk and tell them they need a job and a hobby. I just wish I was being payed for my public service.

It's my opinion that if you abbreviate it to PC, you're clearly talking about political correctness too often. it's not as if anybody abbreviates Racist Bogan to RB. Got better things to do.

Can he take a lie detector test for us: Do you harbor any intention to return to your home town of Geelong to be close to mummy and daddy when your contract expires ? Has the thought "gee i'd at least like to have a few years back home before i finish?" ever crossed your mind?
