Toss up between Smith and Langford at 5 such different players. I think I would lean towards Langford has just a hint of Bont about him. Smith would likely go to the Tigers at 6. We would be left with either Smillie, Travagalia or Reid at 9 after the 2 Saints selections.

This situation is only a [censored] show because of the over the top media reports. I have full faith in the club to make the right call regarding Clarry, if he is traded there would be a very valid reason, especially if he is traded away for such little trade value. If we think we can make it work we will get our champion player back. This is the same football department that netted us 3 top four finishes in the last 4 years and flag. They know what they are doing and most of all they know the nature of the relationships and dynamics within the club. Yes we have had some misses at the trade table the last 3 years but we have continued to draft very well. I think that would be really doable given their stars are aging. Sidebottom, Pendles, Elliot, Howe will be all off their books soon. They don’t really have many marquee players they would need to pay except for Diacos x 2 and maybe Degoey.

I see Houston’s value as a decent first round pick (8-12) and TDK as two firsts. Valuing Trac around 3 first round picks. TDK and Houston are two perfect fits for our list. We then hold a serious draft hand with 7 and 11 and still hold Sydney’s 2nd pick plus currency from ANB. We could head to the draft and do a mini refresh of the list or we could even dangle those picks for another prime mid to replace Trac. Bring in a fit Clayton Oliver next year that team would be looking very strong

Listening to the goody presser it’s very clear Tracs only commitment to the club is his contract and he has likely indicated he wants out. Assuming he 100% wants out and demands a trade to a big Melbourne club…. Who Says no? I think the only Melbourne team in contention that could obtain the currency for Trac is the dogs. Naughton would absolutely be of interest to us and potentially surplus to their needs. They will also have decent compensation coming back for losing Smith. Trac and bont in the same midfield would be scary good too.
