Every game is important, we lost last week because we failed to keep our nerve in those last 5 minutes. I’m tipping that we will replicate last weeks effort but for four quarters, the team received a real kick in the guts just like us supporters and I am hoping that the players respond accordingly. If Petty plays he needs to go back, apart from Salem and Rivers our backline fell apart in that last quarter, Spargo needs to come out for Sharp, I would also bring in AJ and perhaps Brown. Jeffo? Kentfield?, wish Mitch was on our list.

Just when the boys are hitting their straps another unwanted bye, VFL has become a bit sad.

Thanks DD some very interesting stats coming out of this game such a shame that we blew it in the last, good to see that Riv and Max were at the elite level and that our top 6 players performed so well. I noticed on Wheelo’s player rating that only Rivers and Salem went against the trend Scoring highly in that miserable last quarter. Pressure ratings for 1st and 3rd were quite noticeable but 2nd and last pretty average. The last in particular but that may have been because of the Saints ball movement we couldn’t get our hands on it for that last 20 minutes.

Also when you watch the replay the umpire called our players including Max back to the centre which allowed Millera to break free.

How about that mark that Mattie Jefferson took against Sandy on the weekend, if he can replicate that on a regular basis at AFL he will be worth the price of a ticket, also I don’t understand the criticism for Harry Sharp he kicked five great goals, doing what a good hff does finishes off the play up the ground. Why try to pass and increase the opportunity for a turn over when you can nail it yourself.

I don’t blame you Ghostwriter the negativity and mean spiritedness is bordering on this time last year. “The coach needs to be sacked, we need a clean out of players, where’s the resilience, etc, etc, etc. imagine how West Coast, Richmond and North Melbourne must be copping it. Personally I would like to see a bit more resilience and team first actions from some of our supporters, we are doing a rebuild on the fly and there will be ups and downs, it must have been terrible at Marvel on Sunday for our poor Dee Army and supporters watching the doomsday clock winding down then the 6-6-6 nightmare, we really missed May and Levers leadership in the last quarter. The look on our coaches faces said it all. Glad that you turned up Ghostwriter shows that kind of resilience and team first spirit that I mentioned earlier. Bravo.👍😁

A big thanks to Startifastbart first of all for turning up, everyone is in the doldrums, thinking that our three usual star reporters must have had something more important on today. That’s quite a few missing. Let’s hope the boys can get themselves up for Wet Toast, they will give themselves a huge chance.

Even though neither are anywhere near their absolute best BLWNBA both are firmly in our top three this year and would leave a hole in our list if either depart the team, our youngsters are still a year or so away from taking their spots. Unless we received top grade trades in lieu I think we would be more the loser.

Thanks Brad for taking the effort to acknowledge the poor performance of the team in 2025 and the disappointment and anguish felt by the supporter base and also referencing the threat to Simon Goodwin on unsocial media. He is smart enough to know that he is damned if he speaks and damned if he doesn’t but personally I am glad that he spoke. What happens at the end of season in four weeks time is anyone’s guess but you can bet it won’t be enough for some.

Ditto JR what is this thread hoping to achieve aside from casting the net of negativity across the whole club? Forgetting all the magnificent wins we have enjoyed from 2016 when we finally started to emerge from the mire and from 2020 to mid 2024 when we were serious contenders.

Agree D Rev he is a vg finisher and what we really need both at AFL & VFL why Mitch Hardie is so important to Casey and Chin and Kozz at AFL.

The boys put in another very good team effort today Billings being the standout I enjoyed watching the game day stats and DLand thread, could have been an annihilation but for a bit of wayward kicking after quarter time, Harry Sharp finished well as a sml fwd should. Love these no pressure games.👍😁

They have played this song so many times over the past 18 months SONS, they want to see us wallow in the depths like Wet Toast, Roo’s and Saints. The majority of the press are like Hyenas they attack when they see any sign of weakness.

We currently have 28 players on the list who are 25 and under, we will hopefully bring in another 4 during the draft including Oscar Berry. To strengthen our list we need to bring in another 4-5, 26+yo players, that would mean trading / delisting at least 8 players to continue the refreshment of the team.

Glad to hear that Mayzie attended and in good spirits let’s hope that sanity prevails. Bad luck for Ollie Seston he was playing well before injured. Shame we don’t have an early Round 1 for Duursma this year but great that they are lining up for Casey.

Thanks DD when you view these team stats you can see more clearly what is happening within the team, Max is now No.1, Claz has dragged himself back up the rankings to 2nd, and Tracc 3rd where you would expect them but the most gratifying numbers are with our younger brigade and kids. Bowsa 4th, Kozzie 7th, Langford 12th (first year), Chin, Turner, McVee, Lindsay, Howes and Windsor all within the top 20. Let’s all hope that sparrow, van Rooyen, Petty, Kolt, Sharp and Jefferson can improve their rankings over the next five weeks.
