  1. I can believe this. Watching Essendon on Sunday, their ball movement is super quick compared to us. It's also how they almost beat the Swans at the SCG earlier this season. They go straight down the corridor and even spuds like Valverde and Stewart kick goals from this quick entry into the F50.
  2. Unfortunately one of Vince's quality is not humility. I think he'll be boasting his "I'm like a fine wine - I get better with age" line around to Goody again for another year, so I highly doubt he'll be the one to volunteer hanging up the boots. Frost is the obvious Trade bait. I think he'll get bundled in the Lever deal somehow. Watts' time to trade was 2015 - I can't see the club trading him one year into a 3 year contract. I'm also of the opinion that his recovery was botched by the Misson & co and was in that limbo bracket of "I'm not 100% fit but I'm not going to call an end to my year; so I'll play hindered and hope it's good enough to still play in the team and play finals" I somehow wonder if Tmac being mentioned as trade bait has suddenly come about after his disastrous game against the Pies or if it's been sometime coming as people think he's reached his ceiling?
  3. There's a heap of pressure on Goody's new game plan now. He'll need to refresh it and bring something back even better as clubs have now worked out the coming off the square stuff.
  4. Rance does a heap of media yet it doesn't affect his game at all. I'm more concerned with his arrogance. Last year he was the underdog fighting for top spot. This year he thought he was the King and just cruised a long and then started to get beaten by the hungrier ruckmen. Don't think he won a ruck battle this year apart from round 1.
  5. The whole team's form had been terrible since we lost to Sydney. Name one game where we played 4 qtrs since then.
  6. A no from me. Roos should put his hand up and say he got it wrong on that trade.
  7. I was just on twitter before, geez there's a lot of crap being thrown Melbourne's way. Especially by Collingwood supporters, even directly at players like Bugg, Watts, Gawn etc Oh and then there's Warwick Capper tweet asking people to put out their cheese platters to commiserate the Dees missing finals. FFS Might just deactivate my account for 6 months.
  8. The way we played on Saturday, I wouldn't have given us much chance.
  9. I know as supporters we are all extremely disappointed with how the season ended with no finals, but looking at the big picture of ultimate success, I'd almost argue that making the finals and then getting bundled out week one would have just been short term satisfaction to players and supporters alike. BUT, by just missing and the disappointment that has followed, does this spur the players even further than a soft exit out of the finals with a pat on the back saying "well done at least you made finals"? I'd like to hope so, as 2017 was never going to be our year anyway, so does 2018 look better for us? having some finals experience would've been nice though...
  10. If Goodwin didn't mention that finals was on the line and just talked the players through their normal routines and OM before the game, then that's baffling and a crucial mistake which would be attributed to the horrible first qtr.
  11. Correct. Booed him because of his goal on QBD and his post game celebration in front of them. Joffa hates him because of that.
  12. Not sure if any one watched league teams on Thursday night, but Ben Dixon predicted this would happen and was the only one who tipped the pies. He showed vision of how leaky our defence was against the Lions and said the Pies ball movement will cut through us and our defence will just resemble "Swiss cheese". Typically, some of the vision was of Max Gawn and how slow he was getting to man up their big men drifting forward.
  13. Was pretty serviceable, and kicked a good goal. Played his role. Got a 6 on the SEN player ratings and was listed in the best on AFL.com which I agree with. Shame he had so many mates who were horrible today.
  14. Probably Tmac's worst performance of his career. 35 SuperCoach points for a full game of footy. Disgraceful Harmes, Gawn very poor. Hannan doesn't hit the scoreboard enough. Garlett's second half of the year has been horrific.
  15. Pedo's form has gone down and Watts' up. Hogan injured and quiet while Garlett playing well Can't we have all 4 playing well for once?
  16. I agree but it was more so the people who ran the club who mistreated him and created a [censored] culture. It barely resembles what we have now, if at all.
  17. Anyone bought his book? I think I might buy it this weekend. Looks like it could be an interesting read with a fair bit of content about his time at the Dees. Might also learn how to say a lot with not saying much.
  18. Great Ins. Jack looked like he had his confidence back watching him play last week in the VFL and I think he'll play with a bit of freedom this week given he's not expected to be the ultimate target up forward. I think we'll see a far different JW to what he dished up on his return against Port. Hope Salem also slots in nicely again. It's going to be tough at the selection table in 2 weeks if the above two play well and we win. Who goes out for Viney?
  19. I just take them with a grain of salt. About 5% of the content provides insight.
  20. Big call, Copuchas. Those back slaps might be quoted at 6:26 pm tonight as meaning something else if they are left out. FWIW, if true, then they are good ins but also a massive game for those two if it couldn't get any bigger.
  21. Agree with this. Out of those 4 forwards none of them deserves to be dropped. Reckon it might just be team balance and a bit of bad luck that keeps him out. I would still bring him in on the wing, but the coaching staff know best (most of the times)
  22. Pre hamstring Watts you'd have him inside 50 and outside 50. Would still have him inside 50 but would go Tmac or Vince for outside 50 for now. Hogan can't kick 40m+ unfortunately on a set shot. Something to do with his posture, hamstrings, and that guy inside his head.
