Yes I was only because Roos was after bigger bodied mids which he got in Tyson and there was none around the pick 2.I just believe a gem like Petracca would be too good to refuse. Could see him making an impact like Wines and Luke Dunstan did for their first years. He is also the prototype player that Roosy is exactly after. It would be like having a Josh Kennedy but also sit in the forward line and potentially kick 4 or 5 goals. So he had versatility that Roosy also loves. Lets not forget he kicked 41 goals as a forward last year behind big Tom Boyd.

Most impressive bit about that clip was Gawns quick turn of speed. Has to be our number 1 ruckman next year.

Jury still out on Salem.Vince Cross Tyson Michie and even JKH have been good pick ups. Add the improvement from Pedersen Jetta Dunn aswell. Roos is doing fine just needs more cattle.

We obviously have a good relationship with GWS but from im hearing Dylan shiel and the likes are close to re signing? He would be the only player id willingly give up pick 2 for. Paul Roos last year said it was traded to get in a experience big bodied mid like Tyson because the top end of the draft were only small mid midfielder like Billings Kelly and Aish.Its not about pinning hopes I never said that. Its about starting over again and installing more midfield talent to go with Giney and Tyson. Paul Roos has to back his ability to develop these kids properly. This is why bringing in a Ryan O'Keefe would be a massive beneficiary for us.

Paul Roos just said Pick 2 or a priority pick is on the market again at years end. I dont like it. Last year's excuse was that there was any big bodied midfielders in the top end. This year we have Petracca and Brayshaw as potential picks and we are still going to trade it away? I always said we must unfortunately rebuild through the draft and start fresh. If we are to get a PP Paul Roos and his team must back their ability to develop these kids. No more trading out. Though something tells me Paul Roos is after instan success and will trade some of them out.. That could get ugly. Get Ryan O Keefe in and play him rotating midfield forward and providing on and off field leadership. Daniel Cross can't do it all by himself. Let these young kid bang the absolute door down to the point where they have no chose but to then squeeze Cross and O keefe out. Not gift games but make them play atleast 10 to 13 VFL games in a row. If it takes a year to break into the side so be it. Hawthorn and Geelong do it so well. A Petracca and Brayshaw along with Viney Tyson Toumpas and Stretch would set our midfield up for the next 10 years.

Said in the other thread Salem hasn't shown much except kick a match winner against essendon. Other then that he has not shown why he was worthy of pick 9 especially the likes of Luke Dunstan Lewis Taylor were picked later and made huge contribution for their side. He looks so out of depth we have gifted him games when the likes of Jimmy Toumpas were dropped after 1 or 2 games. Yes he missed first half of Pre Season but taylor missed the whole chunk with a broken foot. Toumpas copped it last year. He showed alot more then Salem has done for his first year.
