During my time supporting the club, Neita has been the one that has stood out for me. I started supporting in 1998 and never saw the likes of Garry Lyon lead this club. From what I have heard though, a fierce leader who was highly respected within the club and AFL community was Lyon.
  2. Represented SA back in the day and was close to being looked at by Australian selections I believe.
  3. On a different note, does Simon Goodwin still play local cricket in the off season? I believe he was having a hit somewhere around Northcote area maybe last year or the year before??
  4. That's great to hear mate! Must be doing something right! How did he find the experience training with boys last week?

What an amazing raw insight into how it's all done. The big thing I took out of that was our interest in Mitch Geogiages. Well done to the Melbourne media team.
  6. I have the same opinion as you. He looked way off and that was always meant to happen. I dont expect him to debut at all as he is still incredibly raw and light.
  7. Yeah right.. Well I am intrigued now. Did you blokes manage to get full name?
  8. Well hang on I must have a different academy person in mind?
  9. His name is Deakyn Smith. He is 179cm tall and weighs about 76kg. He's definitely one to watch next year. Played sorta around half back wing and is quite clean with his skills and ball use but also shows a bit of dash. Played 8 games for Dandenong Stingrays and averaged 10.8 disposals per game. Hope he can improve on that.
  10. Vanders fit and firing makes me warm.
  11. https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/melbourne/swans-draftee-lauds-best-mate-and-new-dee-kysaiah-pickett/news-story/095c1f04876435fea6544b87ba4fbcea For him, what he can do with the ball is amazing, but if he doesn’t get his hands on it as much as he would have liked he can impact the game in other ways defensively. “He can clean people up, tackle, pressure, and even for me playing against him, you just know he could be anywhere. “He’ll catch you in no time and his presence, you hear him breathing behind you and start to panic and that impacts your skills.”
  12. Leadership consultant hey? Interesting......
  13. Some absolutely fantastic training reports. A question to the likes of @Baghdad Bob and @DeeSpencer, how do you guys view Kyle Dunkley? do you guys see him making it eventually? He intrigues me the most because he came into our system with no AFL pre season behind him and i thought he showed promise. Training with the mids I believe?
  14. Don't think that's correct. Jack Hannath was a train on player and he managed to head up to Darwin to our training camp for a few days.
  15. There seems to be some genuine excitement with this kid, especially from some of our own track watchers. Im feeling theres a lot of Clarry about this selection..
  16. This year (2020) will be another development year for Bradtke. Watched a couple of Casey games where he was hardly noticed all day. But to me that's fine as he was a project raw tall prospect that was always going to take time. I don't expect much from him next as i expect the bigger bodies to still push him around as he is still relatively skinny but also his game sense around him still needs work. I think his 3rd year under a AFL system is where we will really start to hopefully get a real glimpse of his talent. I like him and hope he really comes on. That or he could be the next Max King who was on our list..
  17. Go on......
  18. "That's what we [censored] got you here for!" Love it.
  19. I would happily take Tarranto over Kelly and Whitfield. Absolute star in the making.
  20. I really do hope Stretch can find his way back to AFL level. Anyone know if Jay is signed up anywhere? Wouldn't mind picking up the phone to him and asking the question on our local club if he hasn't made a decision lol. All the best to both from here on.
  21. Wow That settles that then.
  22. But but the "facts" though?? ?‍♂️
  23. Watch his grand final performance. Yes he kicked 5 behinds but everytime he went near the ball he was really dangerous and was just simply running rings around GWS back half.
  24. Yep, he lost a very close cousin of his back in 2017 as well which I think really affected him personally. Love Jeffy and wish him all the best here on.
