Here they come.

Fremantle drubbing. There was something off about the players that day. Almost like a statement was made.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
dazzledavey36 replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yeah to be honest I'm not a fan of him playing down back. The vision i've seen him play he's looked okay and does tend to get lost. I want to see him more as that forward ruck role that I saw back when he was playing in the under 15's championships up here in Lavington few years back. His athletic ability and movement in the ruck and especially up forward reminded me a lot of Sam Darcy. Just my opinion, but I really do think he's wasted down back. -
New bub, all his extended family support are back in WA and SA and his partner is from Larrakia country which is up Darwin. You only have to watch the Kozzie documentary to realise how incredibly close he is with his family. As I said a few pages back. When you become a new parent your whole perspective in life changes and the support you need when you become a new parent is immense.

Type of scenario that scares about Kozzie Pickett as well.

Hi mate. Full game day vision with Kalani White playing CHB. -
This is so spot on. When it comes to family and especially parenting, it's a [censored] hard gig. We had to move away from Melbourne two months before Covid hit back up to the bush where all our folks are to start a family as there was no way we would have survived down there without any family support.

Devastated. One of my favourites. I hope the footy club do the honourable thing and release him. A real club legend and will always go down a premiership hero. He's just had a new bub and any new parent would understand how difficult parenting can be when you've got no family support which in this case Nibbler and his wife wouldn't down here in Melbourne. Your whole life perspective change the moment you become a father. Moving forward I think this now open up opportunity for the like of Laurie and say a Kynan Brown to really step up next year and take his spot that will be vacant. He's best 22 so I think an early 2nd round pick would be a suitable trade.

I'd like to see the club reward Kynan Brown with a full game for the next two games.

Ia he no different to Sparrow..?

It's literally like 2 players who live out there lol Gawn and Lever. Then you have someone like Ben Brown who's all the way out at Moonee Ponds, Ed Langdon in Fitzroy. That's a hike for these guys especially. Majority of the playing list are based around bayside and East Melbourne area.

I agree with this 100% I know we throw heat his way and certainly I have from my end regarding on field performance, but full respect to him in always fronting up and facing the music. I feel bit awkward watching and get a sense he's uncomfortable at times. This is where sometimes I wish the likes of Pert and Roffey would stand up and take the heat off him.

Like all club presidents do. There is nothing groundbreaking about this information. She is a leader of the footy club. Come out and be one. Jeff Browne from Collingwood has come out several times this year and defended his footy club over certain issues regarding the recent racial story, defending the Daicos father son discussion, as well as the on field performance. If she's not sitting down and twiddling her thumbs then what exactly is she doing? I think members absolutely have the right to question this. When she was brought into the club in 2021 she was well renowned for her ability to build connections and negotiate deals around sporting facilities. I was excited about this appointment initially. As it stands 3 years on we still have no home base nor are we any closer to any announcement where this is at.

Great pick up DL! The way you've outlined it all seems to be pointing to us who have nominated both for the state combine. Also worth noting that Riak is currently in the Casey Demons development squad so clearly we've had a fair bit to do with putting some development around him it seems.

Geez your game starting this particular topic on here.. *ducks for cover*

Just on Will Brodie, I do know for a fact he was a number of players we had enquired at the end of the 2021 season regarding midfield depth. This was around the time we were also chasing Dunstan. He didn't want to come across as depth especially at a club that was pretty stacked on midfield talent that had just won a flag. Pretty hard one to sell. I only know this from him being an ex bushie boy from up this way. Could it be more enticing now? I'd certainly ask the question. He was an absolute star at junior level and was rated at one stage a top number 1 draft prospect.

@middleagedemon post of the year right there.

The carry on from some on here regarding this is ridiculous. Then there's the May could have stopped a goal or two commentary. How'd he go stopping goals against Fremantle, West Coast when they smashed us and then close games like GWS where he could have stopped a goal or two when he played. Remarkable the excuses some go to in lengths.

Brisbane planned around Gardiner, Coleman and McCarthy for the year also, yet they've covered them off just fine. Turner is literally doing what we've gotten with Smith. That or he'd be playing at Casey. Barely a loss. We had opportunities to fill either more midfield depth or ruck support for Max via the mid season draft but instead we decided to bypass that and look how's that's come about. We're relying on our current best player who's had to play on one leg with zero ruck support because we're asking one of our brightest key forward to help out and now he looks physically spent instead of just focusing on his forward craft full time. Not sure why you've randomly brought up Curnow, they've been pathetic the past few weeks even with him playing and contributing.

I could imagine BBO. I'd happily do 3.5 hour drive on a Sunday for a 1:10pm start on a sunny MCG day with my young fella. I also miss the traditional 2pm Saturday afternoon slots.

Absolutely. A lot more kid and family friendly. Saturday night games are trash.
