Russell Robertson live shows and interviews.
dazzledavey36 replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thanks Chook, I think he's doing one this Friday at 6pm also. -
Surprised this has been brought up yet. But out of the blue Russell Robertson decided to start his own Facebook live at the start of our finals campaign. He did a show before the Brisbane game and interviewed David Neitz and Stephen Tingay which was just awesome to watch. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=638322807069658&id=1140912894 He then did this one over the weekend during thr bye and interviewed David Schwarz and Shane Woewodin as well. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=174735078068457&id=1140912894 Really great content and hope these links work?

ESPN article - Past players inspiring the current team
dazzledavey36 replied to spalding's topic in Melbourne Demons
Dead set one of the best articles I've read this year. I made note last week about Brad Green tearing up to the Norm Smith Curse promo from channel 7 and how much it means to these ex players as much as supporters. Reading that Stephen Tingay was crying after our first finals win back in 2018 and then Clint Bizzell losing his voice from screaming with delight against his old mob this year is just terrific. Well done to Rod Grinter. Once again, a fantastic article! -
Jack Riewoldt in the end.. How special was that? He's fully on board the Dees band wagon for the rest of the year.
-
Players I could think of is Jake Bowey and Tom Sparrow?
-
We're potentially dealing with Peter Bell so I have believed it... But not bad by you..
-
Can't just name the player?
-
I'd this legit? How do we have 2 future 1st round picks?

2021 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
dazzledavey36 replied to TRIGON's topic in Melbourne Demons
In fairness Red, if I'm choosing between Cerra and Sparrow, it's Cerra for me.. by an absolute mile. Cerra has the potential to be in the Petracca class in a few years time, he's that good. He's starting mid alongside Oliver and Petracca, but he also has a good blend of playing on the outside with his high quality foot skills. He'd add a whole new element to our midfield mix. -
There is no crossing of the mind. No way is Majak Daw playing in a Preliminary Final.
-
Smith won't get dropped. Geelong play a tall forward line.
-
I personally think they need to scrap the bye all together. Survival of the absolute fittest.

Still has that steely determined look!

The way I look at it is that we wouldn't be going to all the trouble of actually sitting down with him and having a meeting if we didn't think we could strike up a deal. Ralph is just trolling.

Yeah I am a but perplexed by Ralph's article. I get that Cerra wants Freo well compensated but at the end of the day he's gotta do what's best for his career. If going to Melbourne will provide him with the right environment to reach his potential then he simply picks Melbourne. The rest takes care of itself.

And playing in front of a big crowd has worked well for us as well. Take away the prelim of 2018, we stood up really well in the two finals that year in front of 90k.

Jon Ralph in the Hun. The Herald Sun understands Cerra is yet to officially choose Carlton as his home given his interest in the Demons. If he had his way he would be more likely to want to join best mate Ed Langdon at the Demons but they have no first-round pick so could not get a trade done. The Dockers would only have interest in off-limits stars like ruckman Luke Jackson, so Cerra will have to choose the Blues. Hawthorn had some preliminary interest in Cerra but it has cooled, with Cerra told early on the priority was to return home rather than pick a club of choice. Carlton’s No.6 draft pick will help and with Sydney free agent George Hewett a strong chance to join him at the Blues the midfield suddenly has a strong defensive focus.

I agree, I don't think there'll be any changes also.

The other key is that with Geelong going really tall, this this dilutes forward pressure from Geelong. If the ball hits the ground I'm backing the likes of Salem, Rivers and co to mop up and give us some good drive off half back.

I got crucified the other day for suggesting in dropping Bowey, so just watch yourself.. My reason was pretty much exactly yours. I simply don't see a match up for Bowey and with Geelongs much taller line up, it's not a risk I'm willing to take on a 5th gamer who looked overawed for 3 quarters against Brisbane. For me I think Hibberd has to come in. He's experienced, and adds further leadership down back but also plays a good negating role. I have every confidence Hibberd could take Rohan because Rohan has been in poor form and the guy crumbles against extreme pressure and finals heat. GWS barely applied any pressure on Geelong hence why Rohan was able to get a bit more of the ball this week. My match ups. May > Hawkins Petty > Ratugolea Smith > Cameron HIbberd/Lever > Rohan Salem > Miers Rivers > Close
