  1. If you look at current ladder position, we lost to 2 top 8 sides both with him in and out of the team. And beat 0 top 8 teams both when he was in and out of the side. if you look at ladder position at the time the game was played we won 1 game against top 8 sides with him and out of the team. And lost to 2 top 8 teams when he was in and out of the team. So on all measures there is no difference
  2. Bet they find a way to give Grundy heaps of votes
  3. For all those predicting doom and gloom and saying this will cost us etc etc We won 5 out of 8 games with Jack out of the side, and 5 out of 8 with Jack in the side this season. Seems to me will manage just fine for a few weeks in his absence.
  4. Add to that Geelong round 1, and less obvious but still winnable game against port. Shoulda woulda coulda been fighting it out for top spot
  5. Ask Dolly the sheep ?
  6. Cheers for both posts TC. Enjoy the game ???
  7. Hey Tarax My Mum and Dad are up your way for the game and a weekend of R+R. Dads actually a member here on Demonland but he is old and having password issues (he will be reading this by the way, hi Dad?). He called and asked me to ask you if there is anything happening before the game either formal or informal in the local area that fellow Demon supporters can attend? Cheers in advance ?
  8. Pretty hard to measure or quantify I would say, but I’m very confident that if we had the training facilities of some of the wealthier clubs we would be better than what we are. How much better again would be impossible to measure. Would we be better by enough of a percentage to win the game on Friday night? Maybe, maybe not. Again impossible to measure. What I’m very confident of is that if we were to train on a ground the same width as the MCG, we would be a damn sight better on the MCG. Enough to have won the Geelong game I would say. So in short, yes I do think better facilities will help us win games.
  9. If great training facilities don’t help you win games, why are just about every other club investing millions into theirs rather than spending it on something else? Must just be for the bling factor I guess?
  10. When did Rance switch codes?
  11. Or move it to our new fortress.....Etihad!!!
  12. For what it’s worth I always thought Fawlkner Park would be an option, mentioned it in another thread about facilities, will settle with Yarra Park though ??
  13. Interesting when you look at google maps to see why we play better on narrow grounds and collingwood and Richmond play better on grounds the size of MCG. collingwoods training ground is exact size of mcg playing surface and Richmond’s is similar, Goschs is super narrow! bring on our new facility ASAP!

Only if you think Mt Hotham is a ridiculous location?
  16. Wow, haven’t been to this thread in a while. This is some seriously highbrow s h i t ! (pun intended)
  17. The volunteers obviously, burn them at the stake I say
  18. Well I’ll be a monkeys uncle! I was an armchair for years as my working life precluded me from attending most games and had no idea you could get 1 game access as part of the deal!
  19. Armchair doesn’t get you into a game specifically, but they do occasionally send out a free ticket.
  20. Been very impressed with the way Goodwin has managed the people around him this year. Things have been tried and mistakes made, but that’s all part of the learning process for any coach of any years of experience. The Brendon decision was a great example. It’s how he has responded and the adjustments made that show we are on a winner with Simon. Keep up the great work MFC, I’m loving what I’m seeing atm
  21. Throw in Toumpas and I reckon that would get it done
  22. “Being called out on your [censored] is the worst. It can be humiliating, frustrating, and hurtful. When it happens, the natural reaction is often to be dismissive, defensive, or to complain that the other party just "doesn't get it/you/jokes". I say, go with that feeling. Because if lots of people are telling you that you're dead wrong, you definitely don't want to stop and examine why that is.” - How to appologize without really appologizing website
  23. Hahaha no way, they will still be in the community, just someone else will be getting the profit from them.
  24. So why aren’t they already?
  25. Nice. My 4.5yo got the same pack, she insisted on bringing her backpack on a 4WDing trip I took her on into the wombat state forest, complete with club calendar, tatoos, stickers etc. when we got out to hike down to a stream, she brought the pack along for the journey. wih respect to my membership, I missed out on the scarf I asked for, but my Dad got two he didn’t ask for!
