One bit that jumped out to me was "Viney to Stretch". Hope we hear much more of that over the coming years!
-
But it is fun picking it all apart without him realising it
-
So you are saying the club put their own reputation, by not opening another legal case, above that of the possibility of clearing the players? That's a great club you support, with wonderful morals!
-
I guess what you call records and what I call records differs somewhat, especially given you think records that cant even be produced in defence of the players are actually records, and satisfy being called records of a legal program. If this wasn't the case your answer to the question "Do you honestly believe they had no records of a legal drug program?" would need to change.
-
Given me a good laugh there! pot kettle comes to mind! What I am asking is very simple, Dank says he has records to clear the players, did do so many times before saying Essendon had the records recently. If you were the bombers, would you not chase those records and do everything possible to get your hands on them in order to clear you players? Why didn't they?
-
I guess I get confused when in one comment you say you believe they kept records of a legal program, and then you are saying the record keeping was "sloppy and incompetent". You cant have it both ways.
-
Don't you think that if they even thought for a second he could clear them, as Dank says he can, then they would have done this long ago?
-
There is no resolution required on these points Lance, it is one or the other, and both are abhorrent! Even you defend the club on other points until a resolution is made, on this point there is no defence.
-
There a good question for you Lance, if there are no good records, and they never existed, and they cant tell the players what they injected them with, why has the EFC not sued the pants off Dank or at the very least taken him to court to get the records?
-
Yet you defend them, strange?
-
One tip, quoting Chip doesn't actually add any credibility to a post, it may actually remove it. The rest of your comment covers the deplorable records, those are the ones that point to the potential criminal neglect by the club towards its staff, workcover will work that one out. Surely you don't suggest they are the only records, or were the club so dumb as to not actually know if the hundreds of thousands of dollars they were spending was working. Here is a hint for you Lance. There are two ways out of this for you, either the club is incredibly negligent/Dumb/naïve, or there were good records kept and they have been hidden/destroyed. Neither option looks good, but they are the only two you have.
-
So now the records are really bad? Not really worth hanging any sort of supporting argument for the players on is it? If I was a bomber I would hide from the records argument and try and change the subject at every possible opportunity. At best it outlines the complete ineptness of the club and near on criminal neglect they had for their staff.
-
So now you are relying on Dank having read a report which he quite possibly has not read, and probably hasn't given his complete distaste for anything authoritarian. Your argument makes no sense.
-
That is really easy if they were on paper, or a laptop, or someone else's computer. Where are they lance? You said they exist, where are they?
-
So if there were records, where are they, and don't tell me ASADA has them, if ASADA have them then Essendon have them, where are they. The only way the deplorable (tribunal word, not mine) records are the only ones taken is if the EFC really were stupid enough to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a program with nothing built in to find out if it works. Ridiculous assertion.
-
Why would he have been, did the ACC tell him that? That argument makes no sense!
-
No they don't, you are simply avoiding the questions. Would be good to answer them Lance

That's where my comment earlier comes in. It is all in the capitalisation, eg The Indigenous community is made up of the people who are indigenous to this land. Same word, two meanings.
-
It is also always Indigenous with a capital 'i' when referring to the Indigenous people of this land. See that mistake made quite a bit, such as in bush demons post.
-
About time someone did!
-
High performance with high integrity? He left us with neither!

Fairly sure it came in with the update earlier this year. The AFL signed upto it. As you say though, would not be right to make it retrospective.
-
I don't buy the doctor player relationship issues as with any person wanting to inject you, it is up to you to approve. If AFL clubs don't allow that then that is a massive cultural issue with the AFL, not the WADA code. You issue around WADA both advising on rules and prosecuting then is really no different to the AFL tribunal, even in doping caseS. I agree with your comments on record keeping, and as I have posted before, I think this has already happened. I would remove the AFL from the process and set up an Australian CAS to hear all doping cases nationally. Your comment around asking ASADA if you have taken something banned is also flawed. If the athlete takes their responsibilities seriously the. They will check before taking something, no matter who says it is OK. If the AFL culture doesn't allow this then the culture needs to change. I also don't buy the Olympic timeline argument. Is essentially irrelevant as when you are banned you can have no meaningful contact with your club, coach, sport etc. even if in the off season this is a massive consequence.

Maybe we should rise above that pettiness.

Since 2007 our membership base has grown by 25%. That is amazing considering the results we have been serving up. Yes there has been a little dip for the last couple, but we are now back at our second biggest membership numbers. If that is the base we are working from, and where we will improve from when our on field performance improves then I for one am happy.
