The 7-8 won’t be pushed back 4-5 spots, maybe 2 or 3 at worst and you have no idea where they end next year. Trac is 30 yrs old and is not going to improve on previous output. Time to cash in compare it to when Cameron went to Geelong, granted he was out of contract but it’s a better deal than that and he was only 26 or 27. Cats gave up three first-round draft picks 13, 15 and 20 and got two 2nd rounders back. The narrative around GC not needing is not correct, they absolutely need points to get all the academy kids and if they get these with later picks and we get the prize early picks then it’s just a win for us

Melb has to absolutely keep pick 24 in this trade. The 1st pick of the 2nd round is incredibly valuable. A future 1st will be offered up for this pick on draft night which could be a fantastic pick next year
