  1. Just had a quick draft review based on Cal Twomey's latest ratings, to see where we might land with pick 5 (6) 1. Brisbane - Ashcroft 2. Richmond - Langford 3. North Mlb - Armstrong 4. West Coast - Smith 5. Adelaide - O'Sullivan 6. Melbourne - Choice of Reid, Lalor, Smillie or Draper (looks pretty good draft for us) Thoughts ? Cal Twomey's Phantom Form Guide: Top draft prospects' September ranking (afl.com.au)
  2. Don't shoot me but I look at this subjectively, Pert would have sounded out other CEO's regarding Oliver with Lamb's blessing (otherwise Lamb's tenure is not looking good). Any deal with any club of such a large extent, that would impinge on their salary cap would have to go via their CEO and Board, this cuts out all the argey bargey for their recruiting manager, trying to do a deal and the Board quashing it. Meaning the Board and CEO would know prior to doing a deal with Oliver's management group and Melbourne, that they would be likely to ratify such a deal. The Cat's CEO would have gone to their recruiters and set some parameters for a deal. Like I said don't shoot me. Not sure I like the way Pert has gone about this though, it got out to the media very quickly. I personally would like Clarry to stay but it looks beyond him to change his ways.
  3. Grandad says Hi back
  4. I have a relative who's friend of a friend that is high up in the Red Bull fraternity, it appears that CP5 is still exploring a trade to the pies or carlscum, the deal appears to be Carlton will deal Walsh and Owies plus a F1 for CP5 with the pies trying desperate to top them with a deal including the bloke who retired Gus as well as De Goey and some pick swaps, the bloke who clocked Gus said he owes the Dees, so is willing to come, they are still trying to find the other bloke in L.A. when I get further mail from my sisters girl friend's boy friend, I will post more. Stay tuned as Norf has not given up on Tracc just yet, with the saints still sniffing and Dawks and Bumbers willing onlookers.
  5. I believe there are still 33 senior players left on the list as printed. Maybe you counted Tommo and ANB as off the list ?, thanks for your hard work Luci, hard to keep up with all the comings and goings.
  6. I do not understand why all the players are called by their Nick names, imagine if Tom Morris reported Spaz in a moonboot . Claz is ill, Spaz is also in a boot, Chin running laps, people on here would go spare.
  7. Food for thought on the quality of pick 6 in this years draft, maybe it's not the be all and end all, agree with others if we can split pick 6 into 2 late first rounders, give port one of those and maybe Future second rounder, which Port may value as around pick 28ish, may do the trick. Take our future first and this years late first rounder to trade up. Many other connotations of this theory can be looked at.
  8. Thanks for updating Lingers, but Moniz and K Brown have both played games this year yet are still on 0 games played, or do you only update this stat at the end of the year. Cheers once again
  9. My opinion is Petty for Rachelle and a Adelaide’s second round draft pick at the moment, Adelaide want him badly, he’s a restricted free agent in 2025, if they want him for 2024 they’ll have to do a deal. Won’t get a first rounder the way he’s playing, gone for all money. No value keeping him for next year.
  10. Josh Rachele For Petty, thoughts ? At this rate of output, we won’t be getting a first round pick for Petts
  11. Don't post much but this is interesting, noting how poor Jackson was in his last year compared to his GF year. Totally agree with DOX, looks like he is deliberately downgrading his trade value for the team he wants to play for next year, our only hope is that Port enter the bidding.
  12. Ricky Mentha our NGA prospect mentioned as well, lower down
  13. Maybe they’ll keep him in cotton wool for end of year trade !
  14. Interesting, not a Tasmaniac in that group.
  15. Was in a restaurant 1 night in 2008, Sheehan was at the next table, asked him If Nic Nat would look good in a dees strip, he said, " Believe me the best player in the draft is Jack Watts", He goes on Hype not smarts, if he says we will pick someone, then hopefully we don't.
  16. Cannot see nth passing up on Curtin when they need young Talls. Can't see dees passing up on him either. Won't get to 9
  17. Agree, we allowed 3 Cat B rookies, so maybe Orlando Turner to come in ?
  18. Agree that Tomo, BBB and TMac off the list next year, so would that not mean we would be looking this year at the best tall to replace one of those guys, O'Sullivan / Curtin etc. ???
  19. Hi Luc, can you tell me the machinations of moving a player from the primary to the rookie list, is it a straight move by the club or do they have to satisfy the AFL in some way.
  20. I did say that players may not fall in this order, the ranking is from Cal Twoomey ! No way WC will take a real 8 and 16 and ff1 for pick 1, we have no chance of getting it. I hope I am proved wrong.
