  1. I genuinely don't care much about isolated costs in relation to players. We've previously seen Mahoney and crew look like they're overpaying only to have something else up their sleeve. That said, right now I suspect Kolodjashnij is worth in the 40-50 range. Concussions and lack of recent progress determine this. But the upside is significant. Salem and Fritsch have genuine football talent. Kolodjashnij has no less and I suspect a higher ceiling than those two boys.
  2. I couldn't be more serious. Kolodjashnij has always been a sublime talent, so I have to question someone who doesn't rate his ability. It really doesn't make sense. As for what he's worth ? I don't know nor do I care. That's minutia for me. Some fans worry about that sort of stuff, but I tend not to. Post the trade period I'll look at net gains and net losses and have an opinion as to the success of our trade period.
  3. Then either your assessment of football talent is always poor, often poor, or it's poor in this isolated moment. I doubt it's the latter.
  4. I don't think many need a history lesson. I prefer to live in the here and now. In the last quarter for Casey in the GF he squibbed a marking attempt. It was pea-hearted. He had 5 disposals for the game. It was Casey's biggest game of the year. He's finished.
  5. I like vandenBerg and prefer he stays, but if he goes it's not the end of the world. He's not more important than key position players in Weideman or Oscar and Fritsch has him covered for upside as we move into 2019. Neal-Bullen is in the top few pressure forwards in the league and has kicked 27 goals, but they're probably on about a par. Some would argue that Jones (who you named twice) is also ahead in the pecking order. He's in that 16-22 bracket, which is important, but he's also replaceable. But if you have him 14 it matters little.
  6. Because it would have been so easy as a young player in that team and system. He's 23, played 70 games and about to enter his prime. I like him, because I've seen him play. Put him in a quality side and he could be one of the pick ups of the trade period.
  7. You clearly have no idea on his speed, which is very good.
  8. People keep saying "he's not fast". His pace is one of his assets.
  9. Kade was pick 5 and Jake pick 41. Kade has the most upside and already has a second finish in a B&F. A quick 190cm silky long-kicking left footer. He'd be a great get.
  10. I'm aware of his attributes. Clubs rank their list all of the time. Just like they rank all drafts. I said he was bottom 6 in our best 22. You disagreed. Not surprisingly when asked to rank our best 20 you come up short.
  11. His pace is good. It's @DeeSpencers one wood to question someone's pace when he really doesn't have a great handle on their pros and cons.
  12. Anyone who equates Kolodjashnij to Balic simply has no clue about the player in question.
  13. List your best 20 in order.
  14. It makes sense that he may want to move. He has great attributes, but disposal can let him down. He's a bottom 6 player, so it's no big deal if he goes.
  15. Yes. Btw, it's very well known.
  16. Just to put a fullstop on Kolodjashnij's speed. This from Quigley in his draft year: He has really nice pace, is a great jump and he judges his closing speed really well. He works hard and is a big kick so is dangerous anywhere out to 55. Athletically Kolodjashnij is a stand out and he was one of the stars of the Combine. He killed the jumps finishing first in the standing vertical and right foot jump and was in the top 20% of his non-preferred left foot. He went under 3 seconds in the 20m and was just outside the top 10% in the 3km. He managed to go over 14 in the beep and his agility and repeat sprint were in the top half. Overall he is one of the most impressive athletes in this draft and when you combine that with the fact that he is actually a very good footballer he is an attractive package for teams in an age of "running height".
  17. Yes, people often incorrectly say he was a Dockers fan. He supported the Crows.
  18. You seem to think pace is an issue with everyone. Earlier in the year, AFL Tasmania high performance manager Matthew Armstrong spoke to Bound For Glory News and gave a glowing review to the best rebounding defender in the draft, Kade Kolodjashnij. He described him as an extremely hard worker mentioning he was “quick, shows leadership and has a great work ethic”.
  19. This guy is a genuine talent. Tall, silky, left footer. Half-back or even use his aerobic ability to run the wings. He could be just what we need. A genuine talent and natural footballer.
  20. He's now moving to Adelaide ?
  21. Do you think your comment is some sort of revelation to me ? It's painfully obvious I'm speculating on a thread full of speculation. But if you're familiar at all with Cerra you'll know that Freo were nervous about Cerra and he's often been talked about as a flight risk. It was a relief and somewhat surprising to many in the industry when he decided to extend. I've already said he's a longshot, but he's the type of player that would make Hogan leaving palatable. Any more pearls of wisdom ?
  22. Didn't McGovern just extend his Contract with Adelaide ?
  23. I agree re Petty. He has very good upside. I don't care whether Frost stays or goes (as long as he's covered).
  24. There's no-one fairer than the Dees when it comes to trading. I'm well aware of that. And you're probably right. But Cerra would be the type of outcome I'd like. I know it's not likely.
