  1. It’s time to move on
  2. I’ve always struggled to understand how the afl landed on outcome over intent. They just love leaning into the grey. They could make their life a lot easier going with intent but it wouldn’t create the same amount of click bait and ratings.
  3. Attempted punches or kicks should all cop a game or two on the sideline. The grey areas of the game have to go as much as possible. Off ball niggle in general is unnecessary.
  4. I think our little backwater league is safe from them
  5. Don’t disagree with those points. Just thinking along the lines of how to have the best ball users in the most dangerous places when there is a premium on conversion and usage later in the season. Id like chandler to prove me wrong but I think he has a lot to do to change perception. If he keeps kicking goals and showing up in game I’ll happily change my tune on him. I was also really encouraged by our backline and am maybe getting carried away with one game. McDonald, Howes and hore looked like they belong against what I think is quite a good forward line.
  6. @Young Blood thanks for the feedback
  7. Considering how good our backline looked I wonder if when Bowey is right and despite the fact that chandler kicked three if we might try bowey in a chandler type role. I think he has what chandler has and more. the more creativity and execution we can get into the front half of the ground come finals the better in my opinion, as long as our defensive structures hold.
  8. If petracca was clean with his hands the match would Look a bit different
  9. You think they can’t get any better but each year they step up
  10. Takes generations of breeding
  11. Gawn is everyone’s grand final
  12. Maybe we’re ok?
  13. When I was about 8 I was walking out of the G wearing a Melbourne jumper with my dad. We had beaten Collingwood that afternoon in the mid nineties. A fully grown adult male wearing a Collingwood jumper spat on me as I left the ground that day. It landed right on my chest. They can all go [censored] themselves and I never want the leaders of our club to mention being anything like them in any way ever
  14. These generalisations not only make the world and the football world go round but also have some element of truth to them and can be fun when not taken too seriously. I’m not wealthy. I’m closer to a Collingwood supporter in economic status. But I’m infinitely classier than they are. In my line of work I see many Collingwood supporters who are the cliche I just spoke of. It doesn’t come from nowhere. They also have no problem dishing the cliche back. I like it.
  15. We are loud, but what can you do if it 2-1.
  16. I don’t want to be like them, cheer like them, go near them. I’d rather us be somewhat civil. We are also quite loud for our numbers in my opinion. Roffey and pert need to be careful. We don’t have generations of Centrelink recipients with nothing else to do but go to the football. We have supporters who have lives.
  17. I agree. Just think it’d be really hard to offer us enough.
  18. Ball users are worth next to nothing if you don’t have Clarry or someone like him to get it to them. He’s one of the all time greats at getting it. It’s a very important piece of the puzzle.
  19. 0-23 is on the table too
  20. Gws looked far more damaging with their entries and possession chains. Collingwood had a bit of us about them in that possession didn’t necessarily amount to much. Jury is out on us and Collingwood for me. Gws too for that matter as it’s round one and the season is long. I was just interested in the contrast between our reaction generally to our loss and then seeing the reigning premiers get pretty comprehensively beaten and how that relates to their chances this season according to those on here who have written us off already.
  21. I just assume we are training with a congested forward line because we’ve observed that’s how teams are going to play us. Im sure we’d love clean turnovers across halfback and through the middle leading to an open forward line but we also need to learn to navigate a congested forward line. when we have the game on our terms and lock it in our forward half that’s what we will be faced with. it looks like we are trying to learn to navigate it better than we have in the past with bringing in certain personnel who are better equipped to hit targets and by training it and understanding it better.
  22. It’s not really up to us. Are we not training for the way teams will inevitably play us?
  23. Wouldn’t that be nice. Gws look like they’ll cut most teams up.
  24. Collingwood seem to have major problems too. Out played in a far more dramatic way. if we show a lot more at home without the slippery ball will you see things differently at all?
  25. Considering Brisbane and Collingwood also lost does that make our loss to Sydney any easier to stomach for those who believe it is a major problem and potentially season defining?
