I’m putting money on big changes not happening. Probably moderate changes. Not unlike a lot of off seasons.
-
Sure, but that’s not the same as using a term like “true supporter” which means absolutely nothing. Also it’s the afls fault and only the afls fault that people with money and or connections can waltz in to grand finals having given very few [censored] about the season or club or whatever. having a minimum requirement of games attended is also never going to happen and is verging on some version of elitism in itself. If you choose to base a large part of your life around attending matches etc that’s great but it still doesn’t give you any rights or power over the next person. Being a cheer squad member and as passionate and driven to help as you are I would hope the club would look after you come finals time anyway. I may be wrong. what if in my life time I have been to say on average 10-14 games a year for every season since I could get there myself, but due to whatever reason the last three seasons I haven’t been able to go at all. How should that be measured in the seat getting contest for finals? we should be grateful that we aren’t following an epl side and have to spend hundreds of dollars just to go to any old game. That league truly [censored] it for their fans.

“No other team has experienced this century” please explain. Sounds a bit dramatic to me.
-
You can’t gate keep supporting and decide who is and who isn’t true based on how they take part in the club and game.
-
You getting paid half a mil a year to go to the football are you?
-
No one here is making excuses. None of us are capable of having an excuse because we aren’t running the club and didn’t participate in the game. We are looking at reasons. It’s quite different. No one here has any power over the result or the decisions made. It’s pretty straight forward. Stop having a crack at peoples “excuses” because you fancy yourself as some no nonsense, say it as I see it type.

Some on here would end up having a rebuild and a new coaching panel every year if they had their way and then they would be left wondering what went wrong.

We’re losing more games than we have if he isn’t kicking all the goals he kicks. When the rest of the ground functions correctly Fritsch is perfectly fine. What does over all forwards mean? They dont kick as many goals, two of them are closer to mids than goal kicking forwards and one is a small forward while Fritsch is a mid forward and compares favourably to the other key forwards of the comp in goal kicking over the last five years.
-
You dont have to let Essendon or Carlton supporters make you feel bad. They go for teams that haven’t achieved anything
-
Only crazy people listen to the afl media. They don’t deal in truth.
-
Those wanting to trade Clarry. Imagine this is his absolute worst. He is basically the entire midfield and he is under done. He’s still getting tagged and having mid 20s disposals and impacting the game having not played much last year and having no pre season. There’s no way he’s not better next year than this year. He is still a top 5 mid in the league when fit. Just watch.
-
Oliver and Fritsch? Our best mid and best forward?
-
Based on what? A bunch if people who know nothing and their speculation/dreams?
-
Longmire has to go after this
-
All you over the top negative Nancies remember how Goodwin was first in line to get sacked after 2020. Things change fast. Things like list management can go from looking terrible to genius within a season. Think about how little midfield we had most of the year. Ponder and meditate on the idea and then think about how on earth we realistically could have done anymore than we did this year. Then think about why you expect more out of what is essentially no midfield at all. Now is that the coaches fault or the list managers fault? Is it just luck and a really tough game that they play? [censored] happens boys and girls. Let’s get fresh and go again with a better draw next year and some nice sunday arvo games.

Haha. Buckley. You’re kidding. Could it be that we are playing a lot of young and injured players and they just don’t have what it takes right now. It doesn’t need to be some Over the top declaration. It’s never as good or as bad as it seems. Bulldogs were no good last year. We beat Sydney twice last year. We almost beat Brisbane a few weeks ago. [censored] Buckley. You are a genius.
-
He won’t go, but if Oliver gets traded, I quit.

I’m glad I hit the mark. I’m not serious. I just find the question annoying so I played into stereotypes. There’s many ways to support the club, not going doesn’t make you less. I go all the time, like a lot of the rabble on here.
-
Comparative to what? Our whole midfield is injured, retired, underdone. Except maybe Viney. Rivers doesn’t count cause he just became a midfielder

Unfortunately for our club our members and supporters have far more complete and full lives than some clubs, who have prayed on the poor for decades. Sucking out whatever dole or pension money they have and indoctrinating them into their cult getting them to show up when any sane person wouldn’t bother because football is the sun to which their life revolves around. Our supporters are too intelligent and too interesting to expose themselves to a cold, wet night where the umpiring was mediocre at best and the league is being run by a bunch of George Orwell post truth, there are no rules we are the rules sit down and do what you’re told types. The afl doesn’t respect its supporters so why should we respect them. There’s many things that are far more enjoyable than sitting at the mcg in the cold and wet.
-
Injuries and retirements are responsible for this.
-
The afl media landscape has trained us to be incredibly shallow and binary in our analysis. We should be surprised when people show depth in their analysis, not the other way around. It takes a brave man to look for context in this modern afl world.
-
It’s clearly a trend though.

I miss being the expected score kings
