  1. Maybe it should be us playing the indigenous round on a Friday night. Richmond looked great with their whopping ZERO indigenous players against Essendon!! Love the "brotherhood" at the oldest club in Australia.
  2. Ask me in 10 years.
  3. Statistically - Yes Reality- No Likely Finish- 12th
  4. Cannot see Blease getting a game this year. Too many ahead of him at this stage. Would love to see him on the paddock, but he is miles behind in development and would be seen of more of a 2011 player than a current season addition. Strauss and Bail would more likely get a guernsey at this stage. Having Sam play well in the Scorps seniors would be good enough to me. With some luck he will find some really good form and push for a round 21/22 game. We will all temper our expectations for this year and hope he is right for next.
  5. Funny how it all works. Poor Brocky. I will make the big call- This hip injury will be the straw that broke the camel's back. He will not reach elite status, and will struggle at this level from here on in. Feel for the guy, but that is football sadly. Wish him the best in his recovery. On to the "Gys". Bring him into the side, give the dees fans something to look forward to. We want more fresh meat into this team!!
  6. Great effort on the post. Honest account of each player so far. I had almost forgotten that Belly was on our list. The forgotten man at the moment. I also have some questions regarding Addam Maric. Was drafted with so much promise, and apparently was lethal by foot. I see the promise, but that strong kick that held him slightly higher than many other draftees seem to have all but faded in and out of his games. He will maybe get a reprieve this year and play on next. But surely after 2011 he will have had to have made it or will be shown the door.
  7. Give him a run! This is the year to do it, so why the hell not?!
  8. PAH! These players all carry question marks next to their name. If you can land on via the PSD then great, or trade for a player of ours that wants to leave then fine. But lets get serious. None of the players mentioned are superstars, and given the development of our list none of them could rock up here and get an automatic game. I am not saying they are a list of spuds. But come one, the dees want who they have on their list to be in the forward line, not other clubs potential stars. We have out own potential stars in the wings.
  9. Wearing such an item would not only warrant a recall, but should actually put his name into consideration for future captain. Add that to other great fashion statements Dunn has had over the years. His most recent moe was porn worthy! Dunn gets into the side based on the glove. If other players want to get into the side, they might want to think about wearing a Fez Hat in public from now on. Golden effort in my book!
  10. If we are going to earn some respect back from other clubs, we cannot afford to drop games against inferior opposition. WCE are inferior, especially on the road. There are many lessons that will be taught to this list, let us hope that they do learn from this and move forward.
  11. Last week Connelly said he had being showing really good form at Casey, and was in line for a call up soon. Fetta is tough and has some balls about him. Needs to sharpen up his disposal and work on a few areas of his game, but if he is going to be a part of this team going forward he needs to be given a chance at the top level to prove he belongs. Could surprise a few with his selection. Also, there is always room for another Ranga in the team. Gingers make great footballers!!
  12. Bartram - poor flat game Bate - courage when injured Bennell - tried but so-so Bruce - in and out Davey - hard to access Frawley - top notch fullback Garland - slowly building form Green - not aggressive enough Grimes - plenty of footy Jamar - honorable, not dominant Johnson - the invisible man Jones - one to forget McDonald - best on ground Moloney - strong, got lost Rivers - causing some worry Scully - still learning weekly Sylvia - worst game 2010 Trengove - still learning weekly Warnock - top flight fullback Watts - showing some promise Hughes - needs more hunger McKenzie - ok but beaten
  13. With so many kids waiting in the wings, a down game is no longer something that can just be brushed off. We do not have a best 22, it is a work in progress. If you do not play well, your spot comes up for question. Rivers has a spot at this club no doubt. Seems a handy player, and will work well on some match ups. He is no longer the 'General', but he is still one of the seasoned troops who are needed against hardened sides. His courage never comes under question- and he has a tonne of it. As for next week? Pending fitness tests of Morton and Co, he may very well miss a week or two just to help him build up some confidence. He was in my bottom 5 against West Coast. To be fair to Rivo, half the side had a shocker of a performance. There will be others on the chopping board before Jared, but moves will be made!! Rivers is 50/50 to play next week. That said, whoever replaces him will be under the same scrutiny, and someone will make way for him again in 2010 and beyond. If he is dropped, we will see him again in 2010!
  14. PJ and Rivers out for me. Rivers played a loose man in defense and still was not his usual self. Perhaps he is lacking some confidence? Some talk about Bennell being dropped. He is one of our "kids", and we need to play our kids if we want them to be ready in a few years time. Rivers and PJ are part of our senior group of players, and need to show a bit more than what they did against the eagles. I half expect one or two of Bruce/Davey/Bate to be rested due to injury (depending on the severity. Bate looked the one who was most hampered during the loss. Ins? Morton if ready. MacDonald could perhaps add something to steady the ship. Wonna would be nice if ready also.
  15. Bruce was building some nice form. He will be given a few weeks off to heal. Bater didnt look right, he too will be given some time off. Add PJ to that list (omitted)
  16. Adzman

    PJ

He got the benefit of the doubt last week with the weather. This week he proved to us all that the game has passed him by. Add PJ to the list of players who will be swept out of the club next season.
  17. Jack Watts, Jack Grimes, Jack Trengove, Jack Fitzpatrick.....and (Jack Viney???)
  18. The dees are having a good hard look at their list. They have a good 5/6 players to cut from this current team. To make sure everyone gets a go, everyone is up for selection. Miller not playing is obvious. He is out of favor, and perhaps his time is done here. Say what you like about Miller, the truth is he can play at this level and will be on an AFL list next season. Perhaps not the GC17s list, but maybe even the Swans who seem to go against the grain by giving second life to senior players.
  19. Hear that? Listen a little closer. Now you have got it! It is the sound of those climbing out of the woodworks and jumping on the back of a once very light bandwagon. We might need to get those brakes serviced, something tells me this bandwagon is going to start getting a tad heavy over the next few years. I welcome them with open arms, provided they sign up and stay regardless of the outcome.
  20. Who cares! We don't have to travel, anything to upset the apple cart at the Dons or pies works for me!
  21. We all need to show up and make it a painful place to play for the eagles. Our boys cop it when they fly west, let us return the favor when the eagles come to our house for a game! Change your plans demonlanders, you are now going to the footy today! Drag your partner, roommates or that guy who just won't shut up at the milk bar in the morning. Take the foreign kid from across the road, that is dying to learn a new game. Take his whole family while you are at it. Call up your distant relatives, hijack a 'neighbours Ramsey street' tour bus, do whatever you need to do to make the MCG a house of pain for the eagles! See you all there!
  22. Great write up! Let us all hope Jacky Boy shows us some glimpses of what is to come in the future. I will be right behind him with my expectations in check, but my lungs cheering his every possession.
  23. I am convinced we will not be seeing Sam play this season.
  24. Melbourne Celtics... Seriously, keep the Demon!
  25. Every round is rivalry round!
