  1. If both sides continue winning that could be a ripper of a game. Going to be a vital clash between divisional rivals. Yankees still lead the division, but Rays and Sox are right behind them! Shame you are not going in late August or early September, you could have squeezed in an NFL game in Tampa (barring lockout of course.......)
  2. 1. Stephen Milne- Flat out tool. No arguments there. 2.Buddy Franklin- gets the annoying tag due to the supporters sick love for the guy. Every time he goes near the ball the Hawks supporters reach for whatever it is they have in their pants and start going for it. "Budddyyyyyyyyy". Every time he goes near the f'ing thing!! Even if it is a contested mark on the wing "Buddddyyyyyyy". 3. Dale Thomas- Has there ever been a more "outside" player in the AFL? Speak to Collingwood supporters and they say 'He just knows where to be to get the footy in the best position". Everyone thinks he is just soft as for not being able to win a contested footy. GWS bound hopefully so he can be exposed for the soft footballer he really is.
  3. Agree with Sylvinator. We drafted Cook to be that big target, so we need to get some games into him later in the season. If we drop the next few we will be behind the pack for finals. It might be worth rolling the dice in a few weeks with Cook to see what he is capable of. If Juice cannot hit the AFL switch and contribute soon then I would prefer to carry Cook as a passenger in our 22 than Juice. Martin has been impressive, but at this stage he is miles off being an AFL ruckman. He will be good against reserve ruckman, and is good around the ground but I would still be putting the Russian in the circle every chance we get. He is good down forward, but he is a top 5 AFL ruckman, so we need to let him ruck.
  4. Rock bottom 1.......2........3!!! "IF YAAAAA SMELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL, WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKIN!"

    Aaron Davey

Davey has a real impact with our indigenous boys. Davey is a leader for the brotherhood and the general side. It was no surprise to see Jurrah have a poor outing. Jurrah and the boys really feed off our indigenous leader, and Davey did little to inspire the boys today. I hope this is a one off from Aaron, who is still a class player at this level. A week for him to cool his heels at Casey might be nice, but we are not in a position to demote with the monster injury list that we have. With the season in the balance, we need our leaders to lead. Seems like the only leaders we have week in and week out are Sylvia and Moloney. We have just watched this side drop 2 games to non-finals teams. This season is starting to look like it is going to be another embarrassment for the club.
  6. I thought Jetta was solid all game. Really made a contest and used the ball well. One of his best games. Green - better not great Warnock - did his job Jones - created, worked hard Bartram - tried, but beaten Watts - Nik Nat who? Gysberts - becoming very important Bate - a vfl player Frawley - beaten but solid Sylvia - the junkyard dog! McKenzie - okay in return Petterd - invisible at times Maric - good, still learning Moloney - never gives up Jurrah - dreamtime to forget Rivers - better than Macdonald MacDonald - okay, but errors.... Martin - gave his all Tapscott - will be missed Davey - soft as silk Jetta - best game yet Newton - little to like Evans - impressive on debut
  7. The Royals actually have a strong connection with Australia. In 2005 Melbourne's Justin Huber was drafted (now plays in the ABL for the Melbourne Aces) and I have heard that we may see an KC pitcher play down in the ABL next season due to strong ties with the Royals and the Melbourne Aces management. The ABL is great if you haven't been so get on it baseball fans. I don't mind the Royals, they are not that bad. And they did win it all in 85, unlike the Demons who haven't raised silverware since 64............... Oh, and Speights Brewery is a ripper in NZ! Can't find it here, but would be keen to get on it again if anyone knows where it can be bought.
  8. Matty is a solid backman. Given the shortages we have he will no doubt play the season out in our back 6.
  9. A win for us if it was at the MCG. Etihad is not a happy hunting ground for us. Saints will take this one.
  10. Evans was impressive pre-season. I really do hope he goes well.
  11. Cleveland Indians QueenC?? I hope you are referring to "Wild Thing's" Cleveland Indians from movie 'Major League' and not the Cleveland Indians currently dominating the AL standings!!
  12. Beamer. No contest.
  13. Morton? They were scouting Morton??? A top 20 pick and you have a deal GWS!! Morton has been a serious disappointment. Talented footballer, but that is all at this stage.....
  14. GWS bound. Best not even entertaining the idea of getting him.
  15. Sculls is a terrific young man. He might only be 19, but he has a 25 year olds head on his shoulders. I can't say for sure what he is going to do, but it will come down to more than just money. We are talking about potentially one of the best midfielders of a generation. If he is to leave a legacy behind, he had a better chance at doing it with a club that is already on the cusp of finals (if it was not for the horrific run of injuries we would have beaten North and be nestled in the mix of the top 8) then a team of kids and overpaid spare parts.
  16. 5 weeks????? Armed robbery is only a few months..............
  17. #2 has rounded into one of our best players. It has taken him time, but he is a permanent and important fixture in our best side. Well done to Jones. I hope he gets to play 100 more.
  18. For those against developing Martin as our back-up ruckman I ask you please to list the players that are ready to take the roll now. My current summary of our stocks is below. 1. Newton- No. Might be good forward, but is behind Martin in the ruck stocks. 2. Gawn- I wish he were ready, he is another year off at least so no for now. 3. Fitzpatrick- Had some early injury setbacks, and still has some development ahead so no for now. 4. Spencer- If not seriously injured maybe, but does not have Martin's engine. Spencer is also quite slow. 5. Campbell- Insurance policy. He will be given a go, so maybe a short term fix but certainly not reliable past 2012. 6. Cook- Can he even ruck? Maybe a future investment, but surely not worth playing as ruck now. This puts Martin right behind Jamar right now. Like it or lump it, he is the best option we have so get on board and support him.
  19. Depth is going to be tested over the next 2-3 weeks. A great time to throw a kid into the mix and reward those performing at Casey a go in the red and blue. I think our defense is under the pump with Garlo/Rivers/Grimes now out. Do we rely on MacDonald to plug a hole or throw someone new into the back 6?
  20. Watts has been one of the success stories this season. He is improving, and looks like a very smart player. He will keep getting better, and I think barring injury we will really see some dominance from Jack next season.
  21. ROFL @ Joeboys assessment on Wonna. "fat and ineffective" Journalism gold. Dunn was a disgrace. I thought every time he went near it he did the wrong thing. He is smarter than that. Green is not James McDonald. I am hoping he can be by the seasons end. Martin is better than we give him credit for. He was asked to shoulder the ruck burden, and tried his hardest all game. With all of the injuries stacking up, it is fair to assume we are not going to be the competitive side we should be over the next few weeks. Is it time to start putting games into Cook/Howe/Blease/Strauss/Gawn and whichever rookies get promoted? Add Bail and Garlo to the injury list, and Dunn will get a week for his brain fade on the head high slide. 3 spots up for grabs next week without dropping under-performers.
  22. I would rather sit through a Miley Cyrus concert than watch our club play like that again. If it wasn't for that first quarter then that would be one of the worst losses in the past few years. We got flogged by a bunch of talentless nobodies.
  23. There are a number of players that would be in the hot seat if we actually had fit players to replace them with!!! Disgusting pedestrian display by the MFC. When the F^&k is this club going to turn the corner?? Poking our head around the corner doesn't count.
  24. Did I say they didn't? Never mentioned anything about todays kids. My concern is that that game is changing to the point where I hardly recognize it.
  25. I adored AFL as a kid. Lived and breathed it. That was then, this is now. As an adult I find it loses its shine every year due to [censored] like the Trengove Incident. It is grown men playing a contact sport! I fear by the time my kids are my age they will be watching a choreographed performance that resembles some form of ball game. The AFL needs to admit they were over the top, apologize to Trenners and the MFC (and the football public) and be careful with how tackles are viewed at the tribunal in the future. If the Trengove Incident becomes precedent, then I urge all of you to find another sport to follow as your past time, because the AFL will lose one of its most important and unique characteristics which is its fast paced tackling and pursuit of the ball carrier. Swallow that bitter pill AFL, if you don't the long term pain will hurt as viewers will turn away from this over sanitized version of a once wonderful game.
