The saints look good on paper. I think we beat them if we play at the G. I think etihad tips thr scale in their favour. I'm officially over the St Kilda hype. A win over them starts the Demons hype machine.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MITCHELL HANNAN
Adzman replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'll admit his inclusion surprised me, but given that we have a few underdone players his inclusion makes enough sense. I wish him well. Wagner and VandenBerg in previous years came out of nowhere after being mature age recruits so hopefully Mitch can continue the tradition. -
Collingwood for me. We have 5 of our 12 flags against that mob. Not only that, but that rivalry was once the white v blue collar clubs back in the day. Amazing to think we are the battlers these days!

Dees supporters the most passionate (by far)
Adzman replied to needafullback's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's a tribe. My mate and I once didn't get along when we met. As soon as we figured out we were both demons supporters everything else was forgotten, and to this day we are still great mates. -
Stick Watts down back. He has a good enough footy IQ to get the job done and he is beautiful by foot to help us rebound. I like him up forward more but our stocks down back are thinning.
-
My heart breaks for him. The door was ajar for a spot round one and then this happens. The football gods can be very cruel.

Even to this day, I think it would be harder to name any footballer who made such and immediate impact and gained such a cult following so instantly. Every fan knew and admired him, he was just electric. I can't recall such a meteoric rise and fall since Jakovich.

That's correct. It's only top 3 protected. Lakers have lost 9 of their last 10 and a clearly tanking to maximise their chance of a top 3 pick. The lottery balls will ultimately decide their fate. If Philli get another lottery pick this year they will be scary for a decade. Lonzo Ball is the NCAA equivalent of Damir Dokic! Guy is a nutcase. His 3 kids can't all end up in LA, so he best shut his mouth. Also, Fultz is the better guard in this year's draft IMO. Given this is a Jetta thread, I still love him.

Maybe the club should give out tissues instead of scarves with our memberships.... Casey is fine, if you don't like it then stay home and listen to the radio and spare everyone the ongoing sooking.

Saric is a beast, Embid is a freak and they will land another Top 5 pick this season in a guard heavy draft. They remind me of the dees with the talent we have pushing through our team this season.

The women's AFL has just been established. How about some investment in growing the league and fan base before we starting handing our Buddy Franklin contracts in the women's AFL.

The remaking of Brendan McCartney - Herald Sun
Adzman replied to Cheap Seats's topic in Melbourne Demons
Our younger players are developing much faster than before he arrived at the club. No doubt he has helped move this list forward since he has arrived. -
Melbourne's Communication and Online
Adzman replied to Straight Sets Simon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Who is this Stu character? I feel left out that I haven't been banned also.... It's not so much the bios and photos that worries me, it is the clubs inability to really connect with it's fanbase via social media. I thought they were onto something with the rewards system a few seasons ago, but it went as quickly as it came. I don't have the answers, but greater communication about events and the injury list would help, as would access to players post game now and then for the kids. -
Perhaps we should get demonland on the back of the jumper. Supplier of Fresh Jack Watts threads since 2008....

I think this season will be the first where the Hawks start to fall away. I could see them bottom 4 in the next 3 years if O'meara doesn't come good.
-
People go on about Viney's kicking like he is the second coming of Simon Godfrey. Viney isn't elite but he is solid by foot.
-
If Max Gawn plays like he did last year and we do win a final he could be a good chance to win the brownlow. Many experts still love the Hawks. I can't see them being the same side as years gone by.

If we beat Saints round 1 I will ...
Adzman replied to Bleeds_Red_&_Blue's topic in Melbourne Demons
The winner of this one is going to start the hype machine about playing finals. Both sides are on the cusp of pushing into the 8. I hope it's us that wins it! -
This is a tad worrying. Hibberd is a key component to our surge into the top 8. I hope this doesn't linger. Fingers crossed this is just precautionary and not something sinister.
-
Players don't wear them these days because it would cover up their tatts..... Adem Yze would be rolling around in his grave at the lack of long sleeves worn.....if he were dead.
-
I'm suprised some fans and media soured on him last season. He had some setbacks but still managed to play his was back into a pretty good team. He could be one of the most improved this season.
-
Watts is Best 22. Last time i checked we weren't tanking anymore, which means we play the best team we have. Watts is in that best team.
-
I would love to see him make it back and actually play in a winning team. He has had to endure so many losses it only seems right for him to experience some of the good times. It's going to be tough, but with Lumumba gone, Dunn at Collingwood and Melksham and Hibberd coming off a year out there is an outside chance Garland could sneak into the back six with an injury or two. Spots are going to be harder to come by this season.
-
The middle for me. Jones is getting closer to 30 and can't play there forever, and Bernie has already shifted some playing time out of the middle as he gets on in age. Salem is a great ball user and is building his endurance, I think having him in the middle makes us dangerous. He would also compliment your tracs and Oliver who are going to be good inside guys in the middle.

My brother and sister in law (both Carlton) were impressed with him yesterday and they think he is going to be a star. I won't lie, it is nice to have opposition supporters start to credit our recruitment team after years of them being bagged out. Glad we have him under contract for 2 more!
