  1. I can see Sydney winning one of the Geelong or Adelaide matches and they should be too good for Hawthorn. IMO if whoever makes the GF we will have to beat Adelaide or Sydney on their home patch.
  2. Daniel has worn a helmet since he was 12 and regularly cops elbows in the head from most players because of his height. Im pretty sure Gus would not be playing ie there was any doubt about his mental health/state of mind. A fit and confident Gus would be a huge bonus in September
  3. I hope your right as my wife and I are travelling from Adelaide for this one. In terms of the weekend I thought 28K was passable considering the weather and the fact Port have next to no following in Melbourne. If we played the Crows then the crowd would have been around 35K.
  4. Yes we would be 2 games clear of 10th. But Round 20 looks like the round that will shape the final 8 as you have Cats v Sydney, Dees v Giants, Stkilda v West Coast and Tigers v Hawks (im hoping Hawks win this week to give them a sniff) and Port v Crows. If results go our way we could be as high as third, but yes 1 week at time!
  5. Well done pies. Nice choke West Coke!!!
  6. Well played Gus, great to see you back in action. Demon gets through comeback game unscathed MELBOURNE midfielder Angus Brayshaw has emerged unscathed from his first game after seven weeks out recovering from repeated concussions. The helmeted Brayshaw finished with 23 touches in the Casey Demons' 16-point VFL win over Essendon at Casey Field on Saturday night, including 11 possessions in the third quarter. Brayshaw has twice been knocked out this season, one of which was an illegal hit off the ball that resulted in a one-match suspension for North Ballarat player Hayden Walters. In May last year, he suffered two concussions at VFL level in the space of three weeks. The Demons have been ultra-cautious with Brayshaw's recovery this year, with the hard-at-it midfielder being slowly integrated into full training over the past month and wearing a helmet in a bid to avoid any further issues. During his time on the sidelines, Melbourne's coaching staff took the opportunity to teach and work with him on his technique when approaching contests. They found that Brayshaw was predisposed to leading with his head and they have been trying to alter his approach to ensure he leads more with his body to absorb the contact coming his way. Brayshaw has played 33 matches since being recruited with pick No.3 in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft, but he has played just 12 of a possible 39 games since the start of 2016. He featured in the Demons' opening two games this season, before being omitted in round three.
  7. Not today mate, the Giants are just porridge.
  8. Wold have to be out of Goodwin or Pyke for me. HIs ability to understand game day situations and remedy them has been most impressive.
  9. He has struggled the last few weeks and perhaps a week off is not a bad idea. But I would be surprised if Jonesy is free to return. Either way I want to see a team that is ready to pump the living crap out of North next week and put this hoodoo to rest.
  10. I agree best performance of the year considering the amount of players still yet to peak and volume of changes. It was the perfect response to last weeks performance which is what good teams do. We have finally proven full strength we are more than capable and exposed Port for the fragile team that they are.
  11. Indeed. In present circumstances I would take the Tigs in a knockout final in a heartbeat.
  12. 5 games in 3 years, wow. Makes you realise the challenges for him mentally to never give in, huge respect for the lad.
  13. Give my brother in law a really hard time, he is a die hard port man.
  14. Finally what a combeack. Will be very curious to see what role he plays, guessing across halfback. Does anyone know the last time he played?
  15. Great to hear!. Obviously you wish him well and can play the match unscathed, he would need at least a month to find any sort of form.
  16. Yes decision making and delivery into the forward 50 was poor, and against a side like Adelaide that love to rebound from D50 didnt help the situation either. This will need to improve vastly next week and hopefully with Watts back in the team and hopefully Jesse improving will give our midfield some clear targets to kick to.
  17. Gave away too many easy goals from turnovers and our clearance work just wasn't there. In other words it was [censored]!
  18. I agree, Frost hasnt played well but clearances and first 20 minutes have killed us. Slow starts need to end.
  19. Nothing at all gained from this match unfortunately. I feel for Kent as he will probably never play for the MFC again. It will take a huge turnaround to bounce back against Port. Watts, Tyson, Trengrove and maybe Salem a must.
  20. Kennedy Harris kick inside 50 didnt help. How many times have we kicked straight to a Crows defender Inside 50?
  21. Milkshake 3 goals. Just need Hogs to get involved.
