Gus is not the answer to our problems- he is not dynamic. Like others I think Rivers needs more midfield time, especially now that Salem is back. Bowey, Sparrow and Koz are our best 3rd rotation option. I don’t like Viney and Oliver in the same centre square setup. We will certainly need to improve in this area in the draft. Need 2 taller, inside/outside mids with pace and ball use. We could have addressed this in the 2021 draft, but went a bit smaller in Bowey and Laurie (Bowey is a find, but more half back). They are not the right size for extended clearance minutes.

I have lost faith in our midfield of late to win crucial clearances. They used to be reliable when the game was on the line, but they feel flakey. Teams flick the ball out to space and we are still drawn to the contest.

Been worried since about mid year last year that we are over hyped. Good players, but not a good system. I think coaches need to take the heat on this. I see the same mistakes every week.

Not getting enough advantage out of our midfield. It’s where the games are lost. We seem to be drawn to the ball and get beaten on the outside. We are not in the mix this year on what I’ve seen. Prove me wrong Dees

Certainly something wrong. Even in the wet, we couldn’t hold the ball in our forwardline and conversely couldn’t get it out of Ports forward line.

Would normally be a bit more confident, but I feel recent changes to our lineup and gameplan seem to suit the MCG more now. A change from 2021/22 and I’m worried Adelaide Oval may present some challenges. Just a feeling… I am often wrong which is a good sign!

Will be a good watch on Salem. I trust the clubs judgement, but he was so out of touch last year when back from injury. Feel he needs a run in the VFL, but we will see. Love the idea of Rivers in the centre more, so if Salem offers that option, then I’m comfortable. TMAC while limited, offers more forward pressure than BB, rain and slippery conditions also favour him. Okay ins I guess.

Vanilla Porter is nice or the pale ale, with a Lamb or prawn pizza.. Last time I was there, I just sat down to see Viney fall across Gawns knee.. hoping for a better result this weekend.

They will have a small forwardline if Dixon doesn’t get up, so the TMAC argument covering injuries in our backline isn’t valid IMO. I think BB fresh is a different player. I think 3-4 hard games and his knees are shot. BB to kick 5 first up from a spell..
