Cripps, Bontempelli, Green, Petracca, Gawn etc are players who put their bodies on the line week in week out. Yes, Nick Daicos has amazing skills and is super flashy. But, he’s an accumulator. So many of his disposals come from sprinting into open space to receive an easy pass from a team mate. He has not taken a contested mark in his career. So overrated.

Umpires must get the Daicos brothers confused during some games. Round 18 and Nicky boy got two (or was it one?) votes. Either way, didn’t deserve any in that game.

Andrew Dillon’s wife was interviewed before the Brownlow and said (words to the effect of) that Bont (surprisingly) doesn’t get close. I’m assuming this was just an educated guess, as my understanding was that no one knows the outcome of the vote prior to the winner being announced.
