For this season I’ll be sticking with ‘traditional’ Foxtel. I rang them today to get a better deal and after threatening to cancel I settled on paying $29 a month for IQ3, this is for the Entertainment package, Sports channels and HD. If you’re in a similar boat and only have Foxtel for AFL give them a call and save yourself a few bucks.

I take almost nothing away from scratch matches except perhaps the fitness level of individuals. Any AFL listed player can look like a star when the opposition lowers their pressure.

It was up to the individual player whether or not they nominate for the AFLX ‘draft’ so there’s no need to exaggerate the injury list to playing. I spoke to Goodwin about the competition, he just said it’s a bit of fun and he was happy if certain players wanted to nominate to play. At the moment he’s must concentrating on the season proper, and as I’ve said all along, he’ll pick his best 22 based on who’s had the best pre-season.

When I moved to WA as an 18 year old I dumped my MCC membership and retained my MFC membership, having both as a young person became too expensive. If the choice is between one of the two, personally I’d prefer to support the club.
