This was a dog vomit result. The players handpassed into trouble too much. The other team had taller, stronger, faster players who could mark the ball overhead. Our players tried hard and played well in the third quarter. But they persisted with the game plan of the first two quarters in the last. Lose at all costs. Pull defeat from the jaws of victory as usual. Hand pass into trouble. The umpires love Roughead. Jones kept kicking it straight to a hawthorn player or hand passing up his own a$$. This was another game that a real team would have won. MFC is a fake team with no heart. They'll try a bit for one or two quarters but at least one quarter will be the losing quarter. They don't really care. Football is not really their heart and soul. It's just a job. Poorly done.

Wagner, Kent, Trengove and Kennedy played well in the VFL, especially Wagner. I'd be surprised if Wagner was not in the AFL team this week.

The place was full of Essendon supporters. The Melbourne supporters were minimal in numbers. There was the same quiet when we kicked a goal that we experience in Adelaide or Perth. I was totally surrounded by horrible Essendrug supporters.

It was annoying how they still had the stupid Essendon flashing signs rocketing around the borders of the inside of the stadium long after they had left the ground and the Melbourne players were still out there.

We have a no. 2 draft pick who's out of favour in the VFL, probably because he's too lacking in pace (Trengove). We have a no. 3 draft pick with recurrent head injuries who will most likely leave the game soon. We now have no AFL level ruckman. Our captain constantly turns the ball over or bombs it to nobody in particular. Our so-called second captain is not a captain. Multiple other draft picks were mistakes e.g. Lucas Cook, Cale Morton, Gysberts, etc. Until we've shaken all of that off we won't win a flag. Hibberd looks good. Garlett is great. Watts is coming of age. Jetta is a star. Gawn will be back soon. The game plan should be much more possession-focused with our players spreading better in the fifty and our players kicking it in there to a player rather than the current bombing it in to a pack.
