  1. As dees supporters we need to stop banging on about Maynard. What’s done is done let’s not give the filth supporters ammunition
  2. His Journey & story should be plastered all over the change rooms and be a mentor to young players to show no to take their time for granted & what can be achieved coming from adversity. Makes my blood boil when dumb decisions are made by players who take their time for granted and not only hurt themselves but the club!
  3. Troy Chaplin said they were focusing on other parts of the game not on the fwd line
  4. Was asked the question so needed to answer.. very honest .. I agree with u only if they are saying how good things are etc
  5. The jinx & curse continues .. our forwards have had the injury curse for decades, Schwartz, Lyon, jackovich, brown, Tmac,
  6. Nice move dees Grundy was useless hey
  7. Injuries yes but also coaching and bringing players from Casey …in 2022 continued with same players, in 2023 watching Grundy not playing in the 2 finals was another blunder!
  8. Worth listening to Pert @ the AGM as discussed in detail as what is needed now & in years decades to come, the issues with AAMi park and shared facilities plus access due to concerts etc, not just 1 oval and went on to say that the his team & the board explored all opportunities & Caulfield represents the best.
  9. I believe local gvt blocked the plans for a site in the Olympic park/ Aami park precinct or the club couldn’t build what was required. State gvt has poured out hundred of millions of dollars to support other clubs redevelopment of their existing grounds eg Geelong .. understanding they have existing footprint but all driving by politics vote getting.. A club that bears the name of the city is treated like a 2nd rate citizen, Yet happy to build extend tennis stadiums etc but the MFC is given scraps
  10. They will keep Casey but they want a training centre that has all the club under one roof vs mcg , aami
  11. Reference is how hard it is for our club to get its training base, is local or state gvt to blame?
  12. Fisherman’s Bend is having a major redevelopment with an estimated 20k population eventually. Surely there would be opportunities and recently the local council just purchased land with a view of turning it into an open space
  13. Afl announce a 70mill train base for the TAS team! Makes the blood boil how our club gets treated
  14. Hard to say really as not sure on the commercials, who would pay for the facilities, can they get 2 ovals? I live in Port & as always thought that the existing Port Melb fc ground is ripe for development but they also have a cricket club which would need to move as need a ground with all year access
  15. Glen Eire council are now saying they haven’t been consulted & are warning that any plans needs to include local residential use.. could another local gvt shaft the MFC?
  16. I stand to be corrected but the area of we’re the filth (pies) who are rubbing it in our faces took it whilst we were rattling cans to survive and 20yrs later we are split to 3 areas with a training ground almost 60 mins away.. Winning the flag in 21 shows how great it was compared to what the other 17 clubs have to deal with!
  17. The glass house Olympic park was offered around 20yrs to the club but was rejected by either Gutnick ,Sznody, Gardner era as we couldn’t afford it, unfortunately when the club was continuously in survival mode & broke its hard to plan ahead ..you look at the junction oval now and say why wasn’t that explored even the saints couldn’t make it work. The fact that Daniher had to work out of portables & players had the worst training facilities and using cones as goals in preseason is amazing that he’s sides played in finals plus a GF! The fact it’s 2024 and we still get get kicked off AAMI due to functions etc inc the women’s WC is a joke, so if Caulfield is the answer go for it
  18. Forever be a premierships Dee’s player , unfortunately need list mgt will always see premiership players moved on. Ellis from the tigers etc wish him the best
  19. Training base is very important as the mfc may have the poorest of all clubs which is split between 2 grounds & our head office is in a 3rd location..compare ours to what hawks , tigers , even dogs & not to mention cats who have gotten hundreds of millions to develop their home ground to fit 40k so they train & play there.. we are chalk & cheese! Either evolve or you get left behind.. like we did after 1964!
  20. Understand sure great for the club to get a 1mill but just have our president accepting it, feels very hollow vs seeing a club hold a premiership cup…Feels like our players holding a mediocrity cup
  21. Why is a club that’s bombed out in straight sets in both teams accepting the award with both our captains
  22. Not bagging Casey as the facilities are great for a suburban ground & it’s yielded flags for both teams… but it’s no we’re near the other afl elite top clubs … who’s idea was it to go 50-60 minutes away from our so called heartland … VFA port melb ripe for development with 18 flags & same theme song & a population growth of 20k…& under 20mins from the mcg
  23. Look at the amount of funding the Cats have received from the state gvt over the last 20yrs to develop multiple stands. Yet they can’t find a blade of grass for a training centre for the MFC a club that bears the name of the city. Understanding that our club handling of this has been very poor in decades gone past, we are a club born out of a stadium the MCC/G we are not a club from a suburb which was part of the VFL, very frustrating https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kardinia_Park_(stadium)
  24. Perhaps we have become a club who thinks that we are the best and win flags to the the point that’s what they are looking at and not what the next game or the next play ???
  25. Stop making excuses .. drinking own bath water ..
