Are we actually ever going to play like a top 4 side? Our skills are the worst i’ve seen in a while..
No. we’ve been sh*t all year.

Lucky it’s started raining. Cats skills and defensive marking was killing us. Bit of rain nullifies it. Plus, we piled on goals against Port up there in the wet. Frustrating to watch what we’ve become in 2023. Just a bottom 8 level side.

This is embarrassing

This could get ugly,

Are we playing any differently today?
Nothing I’m seeing says we are!!!
It’s our intensity. We are behind but aren’t giving up. We are on today

Trade our future first along with our current 2nd round pick for a lateish first rounder (15-18) and bring more talent in (trade or draft).
Id much rather picks 8, 9 & 16 in the draft than just pick 1.
That would be perfect for us. Either scenario is good. Reid would be great. But bringing in multiple first rounders would also be ideal, given we have JVR and Jefferson developing - we could target best available with 8, 9, 16

McVee! Is he the future skillful midfielder we're looking for? Josh Kelly-esque
Could be. I think this sometimes. When I see us play like sh*t most weeks. I see McVee out there hitting targets. He could be that mid next year.

That goal came about because Hunter didn’t stand the mark properly, gave Cripps all the time in the world.
U10’s stuff.
That’s pretty much what I see across the board. We play under 10 level footy. Which is a shame with the list we have.

If Carlton want it. It’s there for the taking.

Selfish footy Langdon.

Without a big, dominant KPF we're going to continue to struggle. Also behind a lot of the poor I50 entries IMV, no-one quite sure who to kick to. If you have your one big bloke you kick it to him if he's one on one, if he's not you kick to the secondary forwards who will have made space.
Can't see this year being the one, you really need not just the cattle but for everything to go right, and we're losing out on both of those (injuries to Gawn, Oliver, Petty, Salem etc).
We desperately need a forward. Instead we chasing a second ruck we don’t need. Wasting money. It’s pathetic. This game is terrible. We are just better than a sh*t team in Carlton. It’s not good to watch.

Loved the energy and effort that quarter. Didn’t quite get the reward on the scoreboard but great start to the game.
Carlton didn’t put it on the scoreboard either.

We need a capable forward. Would’ve thought it was a more pressing issue than Grundy last trade period. McKay is also probably gettable. Not for us.

As bad as we played. We still would’ve won if the umpires didn’t step in. Was ridiculous. Not saying we played great but a win would’ve been a win.

Port had a bunch of best 22 out (Marshall, Duursma, Dixon, Jnr Rioli, Fantasia) and Boak subbed off with half his ribs still stuck in Viney's shoulder.
Short of Petty, that was arguably our best side
20 mins of good footy out of 100
Wasting the best list we've had in nearly 60 years.
That’s true. We are wasting a good list.

Had to work in the morning so completely missed the match, just watched the scores on my phone. I would like to register my displeasure at losing because now my planned Friday night watching the footy has been ruined.
I wouldn’t bother watching it. For large portions of the match we didn’t play well. Port didn’t kick straight so they kept us in it till half time. After that we clawed back, and just before three quarter time the umpires stepped in. Rest is history.

We had a chance to go possibly 2 games clear of teams below us. Except we blew it and drop a spot and if the pies win we're 2 games behind them
We give it a red hot crack in the last half

Few bad errors tonight. But clearly a genuine A grade star in the making. Impact player

Barring the umpires tonight, we not only beat a strong Port at home, but we did so only playing good in spurts - where we kicked multiple goals from behind in wet conditions. Remarkable effort from our lads.

We have been struggling for 4-5 weeks anyway. If it wasn’t wet we’d see an thumping.
