Geelong play at home knowing the umpire sensitivities. Their players will just stop playing, and just expect the free. Some call it the “Nick Daicos Effect”, but I think Dangerfield started the trend. The game of Aussie Rules has changed, and certain teams, manipulate umpiring trends. Geelong, Hawthorn, Bulldogs, Collingwood, are just a few that do it really well. Could be worse 5-6 goals to them In some games, and it’s hard to go against the momentum of that.

The vision of this has been replayed a few times now.
In some ways, it is good, because it shows he hates losing and wants the Demons to win. But it could also be a sign that he is fed up and wants to leave....
Let's hope it's the former rather than the latter.
Petracca is in his prime, and is currently being wasted. He hasn’t lost a step. He is obviously frustrated, as many (most) of us are. It’s frustratingly obvious that our list would derive great benefit from replacing Goodwin.

He will exploit teams when he is in the forward line, he can take massive grabs.
The beneficiary of Harvey will be Fritta, once they realise they need to put more time into him.
That’s what stood out in the highlights. This kid can take a grab - no two bites at the cherry, he brings it down with intent. What a fantastic pick up.

Pick 5 and 9 are tremendous positions to be in this draft. I wouldn’t split 9.
I think we’ll get quality at 5. We’ll get a top 3 slider at 5, and a top 5 slider at 9.
So long as JT don’t reach for a Kolt, when a Darcy Wilson is right there for the taking. Hoping we’ve learnt the lesson. Smokey selections, save for the latter picks.

I also really question how Goodwin can continue. All reports are that is saying that they can control Clayton and get best out of him but the higher ups are saying no you can't, we have to get him out. If a board does not think a coach can get the best out of his players when why is that coach still there?
Coach must know where the bodies are buried.

I think Bont was hard done by not to garner more votes but also Treloar had a great season and would have taken votes off him. IIRC Bont had a quiet start to the season but was huge in the middle/later part of the season.
As for the Bont v Cripps question raised by some, I would always take Cripps. He carried Carlton on his lonesome in the disastrous years, Bont was playing in a Premiership winning team as a 3rd year footballer. Cripps has definitely faced more adversity in football. This isn't a sleight on Bont either, just recognition that Cripps has travelled a very bumpy footballing road in the early years.
Bont is the best I’ve seen since Ablett jr. I wouldn’t have Cripps anywhere near that discussion.

McVee copped a lesson but it was the exact lesson he needed.
In patches of the 2nd and 3rd we actually hit them the other way.
Asking Nibbler to hard tag Daicos would’ve been just cruel and we don’t have anyone else on the list who could do it.
Sparrow would blanket Daicos. Not sure we have anyone else who could. When Oliver and Trac are up and running, Daicos would find less opportunities. I’d nearly even run 3 dominant mids through next year and not tag Daicos again.

Recruiting - where did it all go wrong
in Melbourne Demons
Harry Sharp is a step in the right direction.
We are in a rebuild and he fits our demographic.
It’s all about the next opportunity now. Replenishing our list. We have made a lot of trade blunders, that were forgotten about when we won a flag. That’s why we only won the one. Now back to the well, and hopefully, we learnt something.
