  1. Ok, so I assume that is our starting point, and that is their starting point. Our firm position is that we will not give away two first round selections - and their desire is two first round selections. If Adelaide want to back themselves in, I think we could do (and I seen this on big footy - but thought it was a good deal for both parties) Melbourne IN: Lever and Adelaide 2018 first round pick. Melbourne OUT: 2017 first and second round pick, and 2018 first round pick. Adelaide IN: Melbourne 2017 first and second round pick, and 2018 first round pick. Adelaide OUT: Lever and 2018 first round pick. What are your thoughts on that?
  2. If I were Kelly and heard Lever was coming to MFC, I would take unders to come here. If Kelly and Lever were to come to the club - we would be a dynasty side.
  3. If Petracca has a break out season there may be a bidding way for him.
  4. I would do our 2017 first and second round pick, and a swap of first round picks in 2018.
  5. I wonder if this kid will even make it through to our second pick. He does look the goods, and he wouldn't have went unnoticed among other clubs this year.

Kelly and Lever and we have a dream team. Even landing one of them would be great. I can't see why either of them wouldn't want to play at MFC. We have one of the best young lists in the league. If Kelly chooses North over Melbourne then I'd question whether he was the full quid.
  7. I think Oliver will poll very well. I think he could even be a danger to Martin.
  8. Lever is tremendous. What a talent. At 194cm's he has a great leap. I have zero concerns about his height. I never actually thought Lever would be up for grabs - but he hasn't re-signed. Maybe he is up for grabs. He did seem adamant mid year that he was just waiting for the CBA to be announced, and then signing sounded as if it was a mere formality. But, he still hasn't signed. So assuming he is on the market he would be a good get. The 194 cm's I don't think is a concern, if anything it is a positive, because Lever could play stints in the midfield. We haven't seen that yet from him at the Crows, but that is what he is capable of.
  9. His skills are overrated. I have always thought Lewis is more of an accumulator. Not a very effective player though. But I tell you what, he was tough at Hawthorn, I give him that much, he was actually a tough guy, he went in hard, and he was a ballsy player. At Melbourne he is not very tough. He is more of a squib. Anytime that ball hits the deck he doesn't want it, he panics and he fumbles. I think he has mentally checked out.
  10. well and truly cooked IMO. Going on 'well done' with another couple of years to run on his contract. I'd move him into a coaching role at the end of the year.
  11. Oliver. And I think he will win more than one Brownlow by the time he is finished.
  12. Oscar McDonald is developing really well. We forget that he is a young defender, and he is learning his craft on the job. I think he is coming off of his best month of football. He is improving at a rate I wouldn't of anticipated. He is starting to look more balanced as the weeks go on. So much improvement still left to come. IMO you are being harsh on OMAC.
  13. Probably cuts. It may help with headaches caused by impact vs no helmets. If you think about a skull with no helmet smashing against another skull with no helmet, it is plausible that a helmet could cushion the impact a little. It may help with lessening the chance of getting a cracking headache, but I am led to the believe the damage to the brain is similar either way.
  14. I actually didn't like the trade at the time. But I knew Essendon would ask for a second rounder (and if we wanted him we would probably have to give one). With the prospect of a WADA ban - I wouldn't of given a second round pick. He played well tonight though.
  15. I thought Lewis was pretty average. I have thought he has been pretty average most the year. He may get a lot of the ball - but he doesn't seem to do a lot with it. However, I suspect he does drive high standards among the playing group, and I think he is well respected. I have no problem if Lewis continues to play below his best if we keep winning. But I don't believe we can run both Lewis and Tyson in our midfield. It is like Essendon running both Heppell and Watson.
  16. Hannan was a smart pick. I watched him last year and thought he was up to AFL level. Taylor seems to be one of the better scouts out there. Hopefully he can get us a quality junior. Just keep our stocks replenished. It would be good if we could land a Fyfe/Cripps type player with a first or second round pick. It would just be a massive bonus on top of an already promising list.
  17. He doesn't fit. Even if he did he is staying in Adelaide. Said that other week on air that he is just waiting for CBA to be announced. I have seen a lot of players say one thing to the media and do the opposite, but if Lever is one of them then perhaps he should go into acting. He was straightforward about his intentions of remaining a Crow. We have a back line that is growing. We don't need Lever IMO. He would be a luxury.
  18. Its unlikely Lever won't be signed by seasons end. An after the game interview the other week suggested that Lever was just holding off till the CBA was signed off. Part of me is annoyed we don't have either Lever or Kelly. They are both exceptional talents, and it is probably only due to bad luck that we don't have at least one of them. Then the rational part of my brain (or what is left of it) tells me that if we did have either of those players - then there is no guarantee we would have Oliver, Petracca or Hunt. That is the beauty of the draft. Win some/lose some. I think we could still move heaven and earth to tempt one of these players though. But I only believe they would be tempted because as I player I would be tempted. We are a club on the up. Both Kelly and Lever should consider us - especially if they desire to come back to Vic.
  19. Purely from a performance perspective I think Lewis has been underwhelming. Beyond that we don't really know the significance of his contribution to our game plan, and the effect he is having on our youth. I am definitely in the camp that believes Lewis is not all he is cranked up to be as a player, but I can also see our team is on the improve, and Lewis is most likely playing a big part in that - whether its at training, off field, on field (running patterns, etc).
  20. He is going to be a good player. He is just young, and with youth comes inconsistency. But I think he is doing a good job down back. There will be games where he doesn't look up to it, and games where he looks more than capable. Today we seen both varieties in the one game. Hopefully next year and beyond we start to see the sort of consistency that comes with more experience.

What is the Tippett rumour on facebook?

Yeah, probably need this years first rounder to get him. About the right price, and if I were Sydney's list manager I would stronger consider it. They are going to hard up squeezing Reid in that cap, and if they do they are going to need to free up some $$$. Sydney are in a tricky position now. They have a lot of older types accustomed to top dollar, and they have quality young talent entering their first big contract. I rate Jones, but if they don't lose Jones - it will be someone else equally as good.
  23. We have Hogan and Gawn out. GC have Ablett out - who will most likely be out next year for GC. It is just an ordinary game. May isn't playing on anyone of substance. He'd have his hands full with Hogan.
  24. Trengove is more than serviceable as a ruck man. He held it down for Port last year. Would be a good back up for Gawn. Gives us an option for Gawn to rest down back - swapping wtih Trengove, or up forward - swapping with Watts.
  25. Second rounder at tops. May isn't very good.
