  1. A question I and many other dream team owners have, but will Jared Rivers play on friday night or will it depend on Riewoldt and whether or not he plays??

    Round 1 Team

My Rd 1 Team B: Whelan, Carroll, Bell HB: Ward, Rivers, C. Johnson C: Green, Bruce, Johnstone HF: Davey, Miller, Pickett F: Yze, Neitz, Robertson R: White, McLean, McDonald I: Jones, Bate, Jamar, Moloney Notes; Undecided on whether we need Holland for this game otherwise he would be in for Moloney. Moloney to play if Holland not needed, I would rather him play 3 quarters at AFL level than at Sandy as that is how he will get proper match fitness. Pickett - same as Moloney except that he will play regardless Yze - No doubting that he will play and will be Yze-like in that he will get 3 goals, but we will all still bag him next week CJ - won't play HBF, instead will play Wing/HF I just couldn't name a player across HB, maybe Bruce, Green Unlucky to miss - Buckley - Will get his chance, Bizzell - Not entirely convinced YET, Holland - See above, Bartram - Anyone who doesn't respect this kid is a moron, he's a champ, Brown - I don't like him anymore, Wheatley - Needs to prove himself, Ferguson - Only if Rivers can't play Injured - Frawley, Sylvia (still recovering), Dunn, Bartram (still recovering, but could still play), Weetra
  3. Crawford was actually reported again yesterday according to AFL.com so he could also miss round 2
  4. Some people don't know anything. It never rains in Tassie, it has one of the lowest rain ratios in Aus.
  5. He's Tasmanian what more do you expect.. We all know the Boonie stories
  6. Petterd, Frawley, Newton or Buckley. I'm not entirely sure who to pick so i'll go with Frawley simply because I'd rather him than Holland (if that's who he is replacing) I'm hoping that Garland and Neville get a game too because they are Tassie boys!!!
  7. You say who will be the rover in the forward line and then not name anyone and also say that Dunn v Miller isn't important yet can't choose someone yourself. Some opinions would be nice... I'm not sold on Miller and was all for trading him last year. I don't believe he will be anywhere near CHF by years end, and i'm hoping the Fottball Department see this and play Dunn, because we won't win a flag with Brad at CHF IMO.
  8. Best 5 since i really have been watching would be from around 1999 onwards at around 10 years of age 1: David Neitz 2: Todd Viney 3: Adem Yze 4: David Schwarz 5: Stephen Tingay I never really saw the best of Lyon, Stynes or Schwarz but I still loved the OX. Close to this list would be Johnstone, White, Bruce, Woewodin and McLean. But i get the feeling I've missed a few people
  9. With Miller looking the option that we will use at CHF, based on his last couple of games (Freo semi & Saints) what happens to Dunn. Dunn is likely to be a better player this year with a bit of extra strength and experience but if it is going to be Miller that plays CHF what do we do with Lynden. Having Robbo and Neitz with Miller means that playing Dunn will leave us too top heavy and he will miss out and be playing with Sandy unless another role can be found of either Miller or Dunn. Miller down back doesn't work and Dunn is too natural a forward to tamper with this. I would personally start with Dunn at CHF and make Miller work his way into the team, but I would also like to hear some other opinions on the matter. I just don't want a young players' talents wasted
  10. 1. Melbourne - contenders or pretenders? Contenders 2. (a) Where will the Demons finish after 22 rounds? 3rd (B) Where will the Demons finish after the finals? not sure 1-4 3. Brock and Trav 6. After a loss do you take (a) a Bex Powder or (B) a Panadol? © Lots of Booze 7. Your back page headline prediction. Dee fans finally get Sylvia lining... or The (B)Rock show is on as he McLeans them up 8. Will the Demons re-sign Neale Daniher? Only given results 9. Who will be the first AFL coach to be sacked? Unsure - Pagan, Laidley and Thompson on shaky ground. My tip - LAIDLEY 10. Which Demons will make All Australian? McLean, Johnstone and Bruce. Unlucky Davey and Rivers 11. Will Carlton go the Trifecta? Kangaroos or Brisbane 14. Our win loss ratio? 15-7 15. Will Mark Jamar have a stellar season? No, solid yet unspectacular. PJ will eventually overtake 16. Newton or Buckley.. My tip Newton 19. First MFC player reported and suspended? Miller 4 weeks 20. Goal prediction tally - (a) Neita 71 (B) Robertson 45 © Davey 39
  11. I was just suggesting that they might be given a game in the NAB cup, like what we did last year by playing Bode and Gianfagna. I wasn't even for a second suggesting that they should play in the season proper. It would as you said be a nightmare.
  12. My team B: Bell, Warnock, Frawley HB: Bizzell, Rivers, Buckley C: Bate, Moloney, Green HF: Robertson, Miller, Dunn F: P Johnson, Newton, Yze R: Jamar, Jones, McDonald I: C Johnson, Davey, Brown, Wheatley, Pickett, Ferguson Players to play eventually: Holland, McLean, Neitz, Ward, Sylvia, Petterd, Johnstone, Bartram, Godfrey, Bruce, White, Hughes, Neaves??, Carroll and Hayes??
  13. I've met Robbo and he is a ripper bloke and have played alongside Garland, and against Neville. Garland is such a good person and he is easy to be friends with, but I don't really know Neville
  14. He may be listed at that, but it doesn't mean it is correct. If he wants to play FF then 90kg's is not heavy enough, wheras if he became a Ryan O'Keeffe type player (which is possible) he would still have to put on some weight. Looking at some photo's he looks little next to Weetra and he's no monster
  15. I played with him and he is verry skinny and has to put on 10-15 kilos before he could be a FF at AFL level. He is very agile and has extremely good hands. Neat kick for goal, but is quiet and the kind of guy who just goes about his business. He is at least 2-3 years off playing at senior level, but I would be happily mistaken if I am wrong
  16. In 2006 we didn't have as many high moments as 2005 and I will always remember the match v Western Bulldogs in RD21 and v Geelong in RD20 as 2 of our greatest achievements, but in 2006 Neitz's milestones were all extreme high points this year. But McLean eclipsed all that in the final against the Saints as individual performances go. Team moments would be the final against the Saints, then the demolition of Collingwood, then the comeback v the Roos and Yze's 250th against the Dogs
  17. Mine simply cause I'm bored ATM B: Whelan, Carroll, Warnock HB: Green, Rivers, Bartram C: Moloney, Bruce, McDonald HF: Davey, Dunn, Bate F: Yze, Neitz, Robertson R: White, McLean, Johnstone I: Pickett, Jones, Sylvia, Jamar Emerg: Miller, Ward, C Johnson, Bell, Wheatley
  18. Sylvia, Paul and Chris Johnson or Warnock. These are the players that should all improve and if we are being honest with ourselves have to improve for us to be a serios threat. Bate, Dunn and Jones will all naturally get better with age, but the above quartet all have alot of work to do to become players we have hoped they will become for a long time. IMO I think they could all be the players we want them to be especially Col and I think that next year he will repay the faith (hopefully), CJ has to work hard on his consistency and I think Danners just needs to put him on a wing and watch him do what Dal Santo does for the saints, they are both very similar, Warnock is the smokey but I believe he will be our third tall defender for most of next year and am looking forward to watching him progress. PJ is the one I worry about most, because I think he could be the best of the lot of them, but he just needs to learn how to mark above his head. I'm genuinely excited about him and I hope he shows us his worth, but he has to work hard. But hey don't big men take longer to develop :D Peace Out
  19. I think some people here (not having a crack at anyone) confuse the term "soft" with "physical strength". Dunn in no way is soft, I think that if you say it was strength in the contests that he is lacking then their would be no argument, because at the age of 19, of course he isn't going to be overly strong, but that will improve with age and a pre-season on the weights
  20. He has been disappointing this year no doubt, but he is still young and has had his fair share of injuries and i am just hoping against hope that he will come good by the year after next at least
  21. I'd say Newton, has more scope for improvement, whilst Smith hasn't reallt staked his claim for a spot in the best 22 over 4 years (althouh he has had injuries). But to be honest I would keep the both of them. (Smith for one more year)
  22. If he turns out anything like Flower (not that I ever saw him play) or Hird we will be sitting on a goldmine and should stick with him for 2 more seasons at least. The precedent that can be used is 426, I mean he is still on our list and how longs he been at the club. This is his 4th year
  23. The thing the officials should be worried about is signing up any uncontracted stars that may be coming out of contrast at the end of season, because I would sure hate to see a star leave. On a side note: Read-Gone Motlop-Gone Nicholson-Gone They're the three that I would confident that would be delisted Wheatley is an interesting one I would think a club would take him, but at what cost I'm not too sure. Bait for Aka I also think that Ferg may be used as bait for Aka Hows this Wheatley Ferguson 2nd/3rd Rd pick for Akermanis and their earlier 2nd/3rd Rd pick
  24. i'm only young so i haven't seen the flower's, barrassi's etc <_< , but what i will say is that Brock McLean and David Neitz seem the two that are most likely going to be remembered as superstars. also i don't want to jinx them but Rivers and Dunn could be pretty damn good too. come to think about it that has the "potential" to be a very good CHB-CHF combination
