Players who always fire a shot against Melbourne
SaberFang replied to Soidee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Joe Daniher looks like a total spud, until he plays us and he looks like a superstar. -
I think everyone picked it to be the worst game of the year back in January; good to see it's living up to expectations.
-
Of the teams who played last Sunday night and Monday, Melbourne have lost, Richmond have lost, Essendon have kicked 1 goal the first half (why, oh why, did we lose to this rabble?) and Collingwood play the Eagles tonight. Will they come close? Richmond's loss was probably the most baffling; on paper you'd have to think Port were missing too much talent to overcome the Tiges.

Great result for Casey, should make selection easier. Given how much of a mess our defence was yesterday, it deserves the most scrutiny at selection. I'm hoping for something along these lines: Michie or Stretch in for Salem (concussion). Garland for Dunn (omitted). Vince moved back into defence to replace Hunt or Wagner (rested). Oliver into Vince's midfield vacancy (no brainer, he should've been back in yesterday off his 12 day break). We desperately lacked leadership in defence yesterday and the players just seemed confused about who was responsible for which player. Hunt and Wagner have been impressive at times but I don't want us persisting with two inexperienced kids in defence with Tom Lynch running amok. Vince will bring some experience and class to our backline that Hunt or Wagner simply don't possess yet.

Umps got Sydney over the line in the end, pulling soft free kicks out of their ass in the dying minutes. Sydney called the stretcher on to interrupt play when Brisbane had all the momentum (despite Sinclair walking himself off the ground). Sydney players constantly hugged the boundary and deliberately took it over to eat up the clock but, surprise surprise, umps didn't call any deliberates. So sick of the AFL pets getting looked after by the maggots.

Reckon if 3 players absolutely smash the door down then they'll be in the team next week. If nothing else we need fresh legs next week, today was inexcusable.
-
If the gameplan is causing such strenuous tiredness to the players then the gameplan isn't effective, simple as that. The whole idea that all 18 players should be running back and forth for the entire game, in an age of the 90 interchange cap, makes no sense to me.
-
I just have a feeling in my gut that Truck will come out and have a monstrous game next week. It's the same feeling I had before the Essendon game where I knew we'd lose, and even this morning when I wasn't confident of a win. Something just strikes me about next week as being momentous for us.

There is no legitimate reason we can't replicate what Geelong did tonight, but if Lynch ends up matched upon Jetta then our coaches are truly clueless.
-
We were smashed because the coaches sat on their hands rather than proactively made any changes. The players being exhausted didn't help, but Oliver would've had more energy than most today.
-
Deledio is on another planet if he thinks their current list can win a premiership.
-
No way Petracca should be dropped after one week, he needs to build into it and learn how to play AFL footy. Someone else needs to make way for Oliver though, he just gets it.
-
I'm not convinced it's about balance anymore; I think the gameplan is flawed. How can you spend 2 years focusing on defence yet still leak 20+ goals 3 years later? It makes no sense.
-
Surely... SURELY not. No way an MFC player could be that dumb, surely?
-
No chance Bugg should or will be dropped. Frankly I'm disappointed he wasn't at his annoying, pesty, niggling best today; it was instrumental in our win last week.
-
We would've been 7th for at least 24 hours, until West Coast [censored] on Collingwood. Sigh.
-
Pretty clear to me now, there's only 9 contenders for finals this year and we're one of them. Sadly the top 8 is usually locked after round 6, and I fully expect 8th placed West Coast will shut down Collingwood tomorrow by a sizeable margin. We desperately need wins in the next 2 weeks to stand a chance, or else it's curtains for 2016.
-
Ablett all laughs and smiles with Geelong players after his team gets belted by 120 points. I would be filthy beyond belief if my captain was behaving like that, beyond unacceptable. Go have a bloody coffee with your buddies tomorrow morning if you want a social catch up!
-
Think 9th is sewn up now, 120pts ahead are the Cats.
-
Judging by the scoreline, they judged... incorrectly. 114 point margin now.
-
Wow, had no idea, as of Thursday I thought he was dropped due to injury. Must have been incorrect.
-
Prestia, Swallow, Rischitelli, O'Meara, Ablett is definitely not right, May suspended. That's a solid batch of missing midfielders.
-
Richmond would do well not to repeat the disaster that is Carlton, by denying exactly where the state of their list is. They need a top to bottom rebuild and they need it yesterday.
-
Gold!

100 point flogging for Gold Coast coming up. Is it just me, or have they been on 39 points for over a quarter now? I'm only going off the score graphic bottom right of the Richmond v Port game, but Gold Coast's score hasn't changed for ages!
