Meanwhile, Collingwood 68-12 in the second quarter against Gold Coast. Is this a sign of things to come for Collingwood, or are Gold Coast just that woeful? EDIT: 80-12 at half-time. Jesus Christ, what a spectacular failure Gold Coast are.

Yep, and we ended up with a 12+ year player in Oliver, versus a 6+ year player in Prestia (assuming we didn't trade our 2016 first rounder for him). Either way, it's worked out just fine without Prestia.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD

Pick 27/28 seems right to me. -
Bomber, incoherent? Can't imagine why......

Really feel for the kid. I have no idea what went wrong with Toumpas, but ultimately nobody has won out of the situation. I wish he'd been the player we hoped, but it is what it is. All the best for his future.

Yep agreed. I think we've definitely seen a seismic shift in player attitude with two key games this year: the loss to Essendon and the win against Hawthorn. I think both are defining matches for different reasons and were hopefully the catalyst for an MFC resurgence. It'll still take a few years of consecutive finals before I'm cured of MFCSS, but thankfully the playing group seem to have moved on already.

Yep, just compare their game against West Coast at Domain to ours. 132 - 29 was the final margin. Compare that to what we did against them (granted, it was a loss, but against all statistical odds). Overall we haven't been belted in any games this year except the Sydney match, and we're much less reliant on our senior players compared to Montagna, Riewoldt, etc. Exciting times ahead.

No issue with the mathematics but uncomfortable about posts discussing how tomorrow needs to be a big percentage booster. I've read these sentiments a few times this year and we didn't even walk away with 4 points. I just subscribe to Roosy's mindset that if we come with the right attitude tomorrow, the percentage will take care of itself. But I was wrong to tell everyone what they should and shouldn't discuss, seeing as I'm the first one to jump on Saty for dictating what opinions are allowed on here. More than anything, I'm just really anxious about how tomorrow will go, win or loss.

Is it bizarre to anyone else that St Kilda are currently above us on the ladder on 11 wins (likely 12 wins after next week) with a percentage 15% worse than us? Looking a bit closer at their fixture, they played the Bombers twice (15th last year but essentially 18th), Carlton twice (18th) and us at Etihad twice, practically 6 free wins.
-
Let's just focus on winning the game tomorrow before we start worrying about percentage. Roos has the right idea in this regard.

21 to 9 free kick count Norf's way. Surely that's wrong, surely the umpires couldn't be so shameless.
-
34 points in an entire game for Richmond? Jesus, Prestia, back away before it's too late. Think about your sanity!
-
Free kicks are just charity after charity after charity to Norf. Joke of a club. Lindsay Thomas is a stain on the game.
-
I was philosophical earlier in the thread about North winning today. [censored] THAT. I WANT THESE PRICKS TO LOSE SO MUCH RIGHT NOW!
-
This is all on the corrupt MRP who got the sniping little geriatric off when he clearly deserved a suspension. Once again, the AFL manufacturing an outcome that screws the smaller clubs.
-
This is an embarrassing capitulation from the Swans now. Fuming!
-
26 point lead eaten back to 14 points in only a few minutes. Sydney becoming very complacent here; certainly not going to be a belting.
-
Being generous there. Try round 1 when Carlton beat them.
-
Don't worry, Prestia and Cloke are coming to save the day! Clearly they aren't content giving up just pick 6 for him. Might end up pick 4 at this rate.
-
Saints are rubbish outside of Etihad, and we played them there twice. If one of those games had been at the G (and not after the NT game) I'm confident about the outcome.
-
Geez, feel for the kid. What a horror run he's having this year between concussions and injury.
-
Yes, rather predictably Norf have turned today's game into a low-scoring piece of [censored] scrap, to prevent any bleeding of their percentage. They know they'll probably lose both games, so they'll keep the margin as shallow as they possibly can. Christ I despite Norf.

And Gil's Christmas bonus.

Exactly, it's a bit Richmond-esque to fall into finals off the back of other teams losing. Disappointed if North gets up today, but Sydney will rue the loss more than we will. Could cost them a premiership if they throw away a home final in the top 4.
