  1. "And, again, Rioli and Puopolo there, those sharp hands... wow." - Bruce 30 seconds after both players make regulation handballs. Please just shut up Bruce, there's 36 players out there, not 2.
  2. Called that touched straight away, yet the ball went all the way to the centre. It was clear as bloody day! These umpires are [censored] morons.
  3. It's hilarious how dejected Bruce sound every time the Bulldogs kick a goal, despite the game tightening up and becoming a thrilling contest. Pathetic and biased, is Bruuuuuuuuce. Needs to retire yesterday.
  4. I don't think I've ever been to invested in the outcome of a match where I'm a neutral. Come on Doggies!!! Unfortunately Stevic is worth another 3 goals to Hawthorn with his dodgy umpiring, just you wait and see.
  5. Didn't take it that way myself, don't think Eddie's smart enough for that. He's just saying, "we'll see how chirpy you are when my team beats yours next year." Make no mistake though, if we face sustained success in the foreseeable future, and QB becomes as big a blockbuster as Anzac Day, Eddie will absolutely demand alternating home games annually for the match.
  6. Would be a hilarious off-season if Norf threw out Harvey, Petrie, Firrito and Dal Santo, then Wells and Daw decided to throw in the towel and ask for a trade.
  7. Nothing to be sorry for Markc, you gave the thread some much-needed perspective. My thoughts are with you and your family.
  8. Gotta wonder if Goodwin's reiteration about staying focused on the draft is a reflection on other club's mistakes after drafting well. As pointed out, the deal with Boyd and picking up Suckling could really hurt the Dogs in years to come. We've smartly avoided any ludicrous Prestia/Richmond-esque deals so far, perhaps except the $500k for Lumumba.
  9. Even if the whole scenario unfolded like that, I'm pretty confident Fremantle will be stuck at the bottom for another year at least. They'll lose Sandilands, Pavlich is gone, who knows what'll happen with McCarthy, Fyfe's injury still has a question mark, and they don't have much youth to carry them up the ladder.
  10. I have no doubt it's just what you're being told, but if it's the same source who also told you we would land Josh Kennedy, Patrick Dangerfield and Dion Prestia in the last 3 years, I can confidently say your source is having a lend. All I'm pointing out is that your source's information makes no logical sense. Even if Fyfe were interested in coming to us, we would not trade Hogan for him a year out from FA status (especially when we have no first rounder this year, and Freo have pick 3).
  11. Interesting choice of words, considering your emphatic statement a few days back was, "the trade will be Fyfe." You're not giving the club much credit if you think we'd trade out a generational superstar for a player a) under a serious injury cloud for over a season that is b) a free agent next year who would cost us nothing. Why would Fremantle's draft considerations be even the remotest consideration for us? If Hogan leaves, we will bleed the buying club dry of picks just as Adelaide did when Dangerfield left. Did you see Adelaide asking for Geelong's 2016 free agents as part of the Dangerfield deal? If the MFC had the choice between: Freo's Pick 3 2016 (Hogan trade) Freo's Pick ~5 2017 (Hogan trade) Fyfe for free as FA in 2017 or: Fyfe via trade (straight swap for Hogan) A swap of second rounders ... no sane list management team would choose option 2.
  12. It would be two first rounders (this year's and next year's) plus this year's second rounder OR a ready-to-go player. Would take the pick and go at the draft.
  13. If Hogan leaves us for a club in rebuild mode, he needs to accept he could be directly responsible for suffocating said club's ability to execute a successful rebuild. A bit like Carlton giving up Josh Kennedy to get Chris Judd. And WA clubs have notorious difficulty signing free agents, so they have to acquire most players via trade. In short, if he goes to Fremantle, it ain't for success and we'll make sure we dent their hopes of rebounding quickly. Those get locked and printed like 3 months out from the trade period. Probably why Howe was still in it.
  14. You don't think photos of players' biceps is relevant information? Or what Christian Salem thought of the last Arsenal match?
  15. Oh, look, the troll is derailing the thread again and making everything about him. How utterly predictable. Oh, but it's the "pack of bullies!"
  16. Yep, hopefully meaningless but it's easy to read into the single use of Jesse's photo here (and the accompanying text). Would be an almighty coincidence, considering most other player photos are used on 3-4 different memberships.
  17. Don't forget that, with Hawthorn's age profile, most of their older players cost them nothing in the salary cap. Like Geelong, they take advantage of the Veterans allowance, which allows a huge chunk of their wages to fall outside the salary cap. That means Mitchell, Hodge, Lewis, etc. cost them very little. And as for them "falling off a cliff," unfortunately Geelong showed this year that you can prolong the inevitable by topping up with a few handy midfielders. O'Meara is just as good as Dangerfield when fit, and far younger.
  18. Hopefully it was just a Facebook thing not including them all. I scoured the official website and found packages with a few more players: And finally, appearing only once under the Armchair membership:
  19. Tyson, Petracca, Gawn, Jones and Viney are the five players used in the club's new membership package photos. Hopefully means nothing but interesting follow-up to Hogan being replaced by Watts on the website's background (remember Howe being removed from the background at the same time last year?)
  20. I wonder if this means they're not getting Mitchell? Oh, who am I kidding? It's [censored] Hawthorn, they get to cherry pick everyone these days.
  21. The AFL wouldn't have intervened in a situation where Essendon potentially get stronger. They want them back in the top 4 ASAP.
  22. It's sad that it's come to this, but I have to agree. Hawthorn will still end up picking him up for pick ~13-15 or so, which is an absolute bargain if he ever gets healthy.
