  1. I cant think of a more selfish individual on and off the field that Kevin Bartlett. Self serving to the last. He and Richmond should be well suited.
  2. Agree about the 1st dig especially after NZ (yes NZ) hit 619 after being 3/23. I know they batted for more than 2 days.....they could have batted for 2 weeks....its so ho hum. Particularly after the quality of the SA -Aust tests where when the wickets gave an equal opportunity for bat and ball great cricket arose. I just dont get the habit of global groundsmen who continually turn out too many batting paradises. Or in the WI, sandpits with cut grass on top!
  3. I dont either but I have seen nothing from Newton that suggests he is an AFL footballer at the moment. Its a pity because at times he has done the mecurial in the VFL and you think this guy could be something. But its just lost between the ears. He was recruited with a big question mark on attitude in 2004 at pick #46(?). Unless they really changes I would prefer to be spared the further embarrassment of his feeble efforts at the ball. What we have now is not good but I get a general sense of really trying hard (question on Bate though) Hell, the bickie barrel is bare down there. Anyone for Rivers down there and play Martin on Cloke?
  4. .....make that any day ...even in August 1987 (best day of footy ever)
  5. While there were long and deep queues at the MFC membership tents at Gate 3 or 4, you could walk right up to the NM desk and buy a membership straight away. I reckon their future is dim and has always been so despite some people getting carried away with a one year membership spike.
  6. Maric had 3 quarters only at Casey this week. He is not fit enough. He should definitely come in when fit though.
  7. Nah, that's way too complicated for him BRFE.
  8. Maybe they did not like players with suntans.
  9. YM drops these lines as pokes at people. And its gormless bravehearts like you that take the bait ...hook, line and sinker.
  10. Spot on. You cant touch Brock McLean now. B)
  11. Dunn has not even taken the first step. No wonder you rate him
  12. It was his first game FFS in an overwhelmed side. I havent got a clue which game of footy you watch either. But you're certainly pumping yourself without much merit.
  13. Aside from big noting yourself Freak, the only person who is blind and biased on this site your self confessed feral self. There have been many worse players to pull on an MFC jumper. You get high on your own hyperbole without much substance. And this coming from a person who has stated that forward line defensive pressure is overrated. Good grief.
  14. Or maybe another Test wicket with the life rolled out of it..... I like good batting but 22 wickets over 5 days...spare me the explanations.
  15. Newtons not an AFL footballers bootlace atm. We are generous to players who just arent up to scratch. From all reports he did little to change that impression on Saturday. Three years ago he was showing signs he was going to carve up the VFL with some pretty good cameos. He struggles now there. Why oh why would we waste time on a limited one trick pony with an attitude as hard as warm custard. I know we are desperate up forward but......
  16. So you'd drop Spencer and ruck with a 200cm rover and would either Bennel or Jetta back him there! Enough said about Dunn. So you would drop 2 small quicker players for Martin and Sylvia. Lets hope the Pies are slow.
  17. Its a matter of drafting elite to competent midfielders that have the skill by foot, hand and brain to execute any game plan that will win you a premiership. You seemed to think that there is some short cut game plan that will bring you success with players that lack all or any of the following: pace, decision making, foot and hand skills. There isn't. If you dont have the players of the requisite skill base and capabilities then no game plan will cover the deficiency. There isn't. The only thing that really seperates the top sides (Geelong, Hawthorn) and the sides that battle for the remaining spots down the list is the quality of the players they have to implement the current major game style of the rolling zone. Both NM and MFC were doing it on Sunday. The thing that separate the teams was the calibre, experience and skill of the players in each side. And NM executed better than MFC did but there were some good signs for MFC.
  18. In the last quarter Buckley was following Wells (at a distance). Its no wonder Laidley wanted to expose him deep in their forward line.
  19. When TJ came to the Club, it had a number of strong leaders in Lyon, Stynes, Viney and Neitz. No one for a second doubts his talents but in 10 years at the Club he has deliver in patches and in all was a mediocre player overall coupled with a number of off field issues packages the player as someone who has plateaued in his current environment. However I am glad you are happy with his game on Saturday. His last two games with Brisbane sum up his time at MFC. Too little of the sublime too much of the ordinary. I doubt whether MFC has a habit of burning champions, we kept White and Yze well passed there use by dates. For once MFC got it right when it offload Woewodin where he was starting to wane as a player. And as Fan said itr could be a win /win for both player and Club. And WOW an ex senior player took umbrage at TJ being traded. Go on. How do we keep them all happy?
  20. Just answer the question Mo for the benefit of others. You clearly believe you have a superior comprehension of what team structures and game plans are about. Well now is the time to prove it. Dont be a scaredy cat now.
  21. Another jerk reaction of a different type. You must have gone through some torrid therapy last year to psychologically dissolve all memory of the Freo game last year. ATM. Hopefully there must be better options in the future.
  22. Correct. I love the guys pace but if his disposal/decision making is flawed and accountability is poor then he'll have a short AFL career. I agree had others been fit he would not have been playing.
