  1. No to either Lovett. One is culture problem and too old and the other is not good enough to worry about
  2. If we go back to go the biff's vintage then B Laurie Fowler, Ray Biffin, Alan Johnson HB Brett Lovett, Gary Hardeman, Adem Yze C Robbie Flower, Greg Wells, Stephen Tingay HF Garry Lyon, David Schwarz, Russell Robertson F Jeff Farmer, Allen Jakovich, Gerard Healy R Jim Stynes, Todd Viney, Greg Healy Int Earl Spalding, Brian Wilson, David Neitz, Peter Moore Emer Stan Alves, Russell Richards, Brad Green, Jeff White
  3. Jakovich played 54 games and would be in the 22 for mine. Good effort. Despite winning a B'low, I am not sure Woewodin would be a shoo in for centre position. Charles and Shanahan would not be in the running. Some good players there but a side that pale against the best 25 of other sides such has been our lack of success. I hope within three years there will be a number of today's list that would easily make this side.
  4. Unless an uncontracted (not to be re contracted) player is deemed not worthy by the Club to be put up on the trade table, I cant see any player being delisted until after trade week. There is nothing reliable to suggest either way that soon to be out of contract players like Bartram, Miller and Co will be required or not until post trade time. The rest is idle speculation.
  5. Hence the first sentence. Unless Brad Scott is a miracle worker then our lives will be short. Fair summary. 2010 finals would be an achievement but a remote possibility.
  6. Correct BBP. A case of trading a player for trading sake.
  7. Big deal. Too much pretence. I dont know why you label the player "lovechild" because Hurley is going to be a star and if Hird is glowing about the player then so should he be. I'd love Hurley at MFC.
  8. Is he expecting a growth spurt soon?
  9. Collingwood are choked by their history. All those supporters, all that money, all that history.....and one flag in 50 years. Its a bum return on the investment. And before some spiels on MFC.....all we have is the history
  10. We weren't in the hunt in 1987 or 1994. If if if does not hide we would not have been good enough against the Premier of that year. Good post. I'd add Neale Daniher to that.
  11. Why? I dont see the purpose of doing so unless the circumstances are unusual (eg Troy Broadbridge) Essendon and Collingwood didnt retire the No5 guernsey after Hird and Bucks retired. Lets skip the unnecessary pretence. Maybe because we played that way..
  12. I dont think so. He was never convicted of a crime due to Campbell Brown lying in evidence. Never the less the footage is damning and you would have to be naive if you did take this one act on the weekend in isolation.
  13. Yes. Whether he did actually or not eye gouge, what the hell was he doing? It was deliberate attempt to inflict some pain/injury. He had no call to have his hand anywhere near the players head or face. I hope he still gets the 3 weeks and further loss of reputation. Despicable conduct.
  14. Cut the pretence with the jumper numbers. Just give them a number and let them make their own history with it. Too much protocol with too little reason to do so.
  15. Do you think there will be competition for him?
  16. If the Swans are interested in Bell they'll give a 5th rounder. Surely there are other options in the other 14 teams to assess. Re Bartram he is out of contract and any Club taking him will be through the PSD.
  17. Coming from a long long long way back Freak. So which of Blease, Strauss or Bennell would you have given up? And I am not sure Brisbane were seeking to trade but dont let that distract from some turgid tyre pumping. FWIW, I thought he played really well on Sat night where his speed hurt Carlton. His 2nd and 3rd efforts were a treat. Still question the consistency of disposal.
  18. You are right. He is worth more than that and the Hawks know it. I think Jacey has a reasonable but overracted point on this. The Hawks would demand pick 1 and Grimes for Hodge. The whole Hodge deal aint happening.
  19. Its as bad as the "head in the sand" comment that player X is untouchable. The reality in the right circumstances is otherwise. I agree with you about trading those pushing for a player for nothing. If a player is surplus to the needs of a bottom club, he is going to be more so to another club further up the ladder. I doubt we will do one of those trades. A good thought that is lost on most of trades pushed on this forum.
  20. PJ is contracted for 2010. Dunn is also contracted for next year. Meesen is contracted for 2010. I cant see MFC paying any contracts out. Miller is not contracted. My delists: McNamara, Bartram, Miller. Buckley should count himself lucky to make the cut. I think rpfc is right 1, 2, 18, 34, PSD1, and Spencer would be my 6.
